Our Librar is a busy place.It is open every day from8:00--12:00 in the

morning and from 1:30--5:30 in the after-noon,except on Sundays.

The library contains a large variety of books. in it you will find both

literary and scientific and technical books in Chinese and in foreign

languages.In this building too,are reading-rooms with newspapers and

magazines.Perhaps English books account for over a half of those in foreign

lanuages.

We often go there to look for books which we want to borrow or to read

articles which we like to consult.Our library provides all useful reading matter

and reference materials according to our needs.Although we do not subscribe to

any magazines or newspapers,we are well informed about the recent developments

and new trends in the world as well as in our country.The library plays an

important role in our college life.

When I began my senior middle school years, I had difficulty in learning English. I dared not speak English aloud in public because of my poor pronunciation and intonation.I could not get high marks and grammar was not right at all.Afraid of being lanughed at,I never put up my hand to answer questions in English class.When Miss Li found out my situation,she encouraged me and lent me a hand,which rapidly improved my English.With her help,I became interested in English and eventually got high marks.

今年的9月__日是一年一度的中秋节，也是我国的传统节日之一。中秋节那天，全家的老老少少都要赶回家来，因为“每逢佳节倍思亲”，大家聚在一起，有说有笑，热闹极了。晚饭后，每户人家都要赏月亮、吃月饼、看晚会，别提有多高兴了！

中秋节晚上，爸爸买了些菜，亲自下厨给我们烧了一顿丰盛的晚餐，我感到今天的饭菜比平时都要好吃，都要香，因为今天是全家团圆的日子。晚饭过后，我们全家坐在阳台上，一边吃月饼，一边赏月亮。我发现今晚的月亮很圆很亮，皎洁的月光把蔚蓝的天空打扮得绚丽多彩。在我的眼里，月亮像一个含羞的少女，一会儿躲进云间，一会儿又隐隐约约地出现了几条银丝，似乎整个世界都被她那月光染成了银灰色。

我拿了一块月饼吃了起来，妈妈问我：“你知道月饼的来历吗？”我摇摇头。妈妈告诉我：“月饼最初是用来祭奉月神的祭品，后来人们渐渐把中秋节赏月与品尝月饼，作为家人团圆的象征，它代表着平安、幸福，慢慢地月饼也成了节日的礼品了。”妈妈又问我：“你知道月饼名字的来历吗？”我又摇了摇头。妈妈又告诉我：“在很久以前，‘月饼’也叫‘胡饼’，据说有一年中秋之夜，唐太宗和杨贵妃赏月吃胡饼，唐太宗嫌胡饼这个名字不好听，杨贵妃仰望着皎洁的明月，随口说出‘月饼’，从此‘月饼’的名字便在民间渐渐传开。”听到这里，我对妈妈说：“月饼，不但好吃，原来还有这么多故事啊！”

今年的中秋节，我过得既快乐又有意义。中秋节是团圆的象征，是充满喜悦的象征，我喜欢中国的中秋节，更爱中国的传统文化！
