Christmas Day is on December 25th, though it originated in the western

选修课(Selective Courses) This term our school laid down a new rule about selective court. For the first two weeks, we may sit in as many classes as we like before we decide on which courses to choose. Then, what is my hobby? Well, what I like most is singing. I began to sing songs when I was very young. When I grew up, my music teacher found that I had a good voice, so she sent me to the Childrens Palace to study vocal mu-sic. From then on, I began my vocal music training. They were all simple ones but our teacher trained us very strictly. We practiced how to produce sound and how to make our expres-sion more natural and more pleasing. Those simple training didnt reduce my interest in singing at all and I won awards one after another in several kinds of competition. Actually I began to make up a dream of becoming a famous singer in the future.

As time went by, I came to realize that my dream wouldnt come true for there were strict conditions of being a singer. But I still took singing as my hobby since I found in music the interests which were lost in the exams. When I put all my emotion into singing a song, it gave me very good and very pleasant feelings, and a good chance to relax. Besides, it was a good way to learn things that couldnt be easily found in life.

Now as Im saying goodbye to my childhood my voice has changed into a deep male voice, and therefore I can sing a lot of songs written for adults. I am often deeply moved, by the melody or by what the song.

Traveling is a good activity. When you are fed up with your work and study, and when you are free, you can go to a beautiful place to enjoy the beauty of nature, you can breathe fresh air, and make some friends. But sometimes, it is not a good thing. The weather often changes, you may be caught in the rain and may catch a cold while traveling. Therefore, you should prepare yourself carefully before the trip. You had better find a companion, so that you can help each other.

The population of the world has already passed six billion. The population problem may be the greatest challenge of the world today. The earth has been very crowded and there will be standing room only before long.

China’s One Child Policy is a good way to solve this problem and stop the population from growing so fast. It also can help our country develop quickly then people’s standard of living will become higher and higher.

At the same time a lot of other problems will be done with, such as employment problems, food problems, water problems and so on…So I think it is necessary for China to carry out this policy.

Now I want to say something about my dream. What is my dream? I often ask

myself. In my mind, everyone shall have his own dream. I think that having a

dream means that we have an idea, and then we will do all the things to achieve

the target. As long as we have a goal to be realized, we won’t be blind at

least.

My dream is to become a successful doctor, helping those sick people and

saving their lives. Of course, to be a good doctor is very difficult, but I will

do whatever I can do to keep everyone healthy. Thats my dream. I want to try my

best to help the poor sick people of our country. I want to let them have an

opportunity to receive excellent treatments for their illnesses without having

to pay much or just enjoy them free. China is a developing country which needs

good medicine and good doctors, especially in the countryside and distant

villages.

Now I’m a junior student on Grade One, all my classmates and I are working

hard. We all know that the entrance exam of high schools coming in the year of

2009 is a big challenge for us, so we must study harder and harder in order to

go to a good high school. Thus after we finish our senior high school, we are

able to go to a good university. Finally, we can find a good job in society.

My dream is also that although at present I’m good at study, I’ll still try

my best to be the study winner. Now everything I do is close to my dream. I feel

life is fill with hope and is colorful, and I have enough confidence to realize

my dream.

I know that fantasy is something hard to realize, but dream can. I’ll work

hard for my dreams, I’ll never give up.
