According to a recent article on Newsweek concerning children’s’ education,

there is an increasing number of parents worrying their kids to an extreme

extent, depriving them of independence and freedom by keeping them around

parents all the time.

Some people applaud this phenomenon, suggesting that kids’ safety is the

most important. Thus, they’d better not enter the hazardous society without

supervision unless they become adults. From my point of view, some of their

opinion is correct but keeping children away from independence is a completely

erroneous decision. The reasons are as follows:

First and foremost, “locking kids” may hinder their healthy growth, both

mentally and physically. The kids who are locked may have heavy reliance on

their parents, as their comprehensive skills such as communication skills or

cooperative spirit being prevented from developing.

Secondly, what these parents fail to see is the fact that the crime rate

and accidents aren’t on a rapid rise. It is the abuse of mass media that make

crimes and violence more scary. The parents, who love their kids so much, are

completely forced to live under the illusion that our society is full of riots

or threats of accidents. Thus, kids can be allowed to have more freedom such as

walking to school by himself, for instance.

From what has been discussed above, we may safely draw a conclusion that

kids should be given more freedom by parents’ effort. At the same time, parents

should take many factors into consideration such as the time restriction for

children and the evaluation to kids’ maturity and capability. Only then can they

我听了老师介绍，并且看了有关端午节龙舟表演的视频以后，觉得我们国家的民俗文化真的是非常的博大精深，希望今后有机会，我也能在端午节的时候去乌江畔，看一看这热闹的龙舟竞技表演。

The first thing I did was I made a plan for my study. I assigned my

homework equally according to the holidays so that I can finish all of them in

time. And during my winter vacation, we welcome the most important festival in

China—Spring Festival, it’s also called Chinese New Year by lots of

foreigners.

At that night, our family came together and had a big meal. Of course we

had dumplings that night, because that is our Chinese traditional. We then watch

the CCTV spring festival evening party together and watch the beautiful

fireworks. That’s the happiest time in this world! The winter vacation I had

dreamed all year around was finally coming. And I really enjoyed a lot from

it.

The first thing I did was I made a plan for my study. I assigned my

time. I also arranged myself the books and words I need to read and recite.

Secondly, I took some extracurricular activities and read some English original

reading. My favorite book is , written by Sherlock Holmes. Among all the

classical movies, the Sound of Music was the most exciting one. During my

holidays I also made some assistance for my physical class teacher, surely I met

lots of difficulties in this stage and from which I knew what perseverance

really was. Lastly, I went to the temple fair and was lucky to taste several

Chinese traditional dishes; “Jiaohua chicken” is one of them. It is said it

originated from Hangzhou centuries ago, made by a famous beggar Hong Qi Gong,

the senior leader of Beggar Gang.Steamed with fresh lotus leaf wrapped up,it is

famous for its special aroma and taste. Now that the holiday is ending and a new

semester is coming, I need to fresh up and get started to embrace the upcoming

challenges.

有一次，我在家里看着电视，突然发现妈妈穿着衣服，照着镜子，我一下子飞快地跑过去，跑到镜子前，看着自己的模样。我的`头发黑黑的，扎着一条马尾辫，头上夹着小鸭子，我的眼睛是单眼皮，鼻子不高，嘴巴一般般，脸白白的，我就是我的外貌。

我性格活泼开朗。有一次我作业做完了，就问妈妈可以看电视吗?”我老妈说：“不行!你还没听英语!”然后我又回去听英语了，听完以后我又去问：“妈妈可以看了吗?”妈妈终于同意了，然后我站在电视前面一边看边剁着脚喊：“嗫!嗫!”这就是活泼，开朗的我。有一次我想去玩，我就会问妈妈我想去万象城玩，通常妈妈都会说不可以，但上次妈妈却说可以，我异常兴奋，然后蹦蹦跳跳的回去了。

我的爱好是写毛笔，上次我妈妈叫我不要写毛笔，我心想：那我不就是赶不上我朋友了呀!为了让妈妈知道我写毛笔很勤奋，所以我每天写毛笔1到3张，妈妈看我写的这么勤奋以为我怎么了就问我：“孩子你头晕了吗?为什么写这么多张毛笔字?”我说：“我哪有头晕，妈妈我看是你头晕了吧，我只不过是勤奋一点而已民，想让毛笔字写好一点。”

后来我看家里毛笔纸没了，想去一点，可是我不知道多少钱，我想来想去，终于想到了个好点子，我拿了一百块钱，心想这样子应该够了吧。然后偷偷的走着，然后妈妈的影子闪过，吓了我一大跳，我又轻轻的走着，终于我走出了家门买了一包毛笔纸，最终妈妈看我这么喜欢就帮我报了名。

我就是这样的人，希望多交一些朋友。

都说气温断崖式下降，可是我们的热情丝毫没有感受到寒冷。今天下午，我们在操场举办了一次惊心动魄的拔河比赛。

赛前，我们绕着操场跑了两圈，做了些基本的热身运动。体育老师还帮我们排列了参赛队员的位置，分别站在绳子的两侧，左右交错排列。口令喊起，双手要拿起绳子，半蹲着，脚一前一后，身体全部的重心向后倾斜。

掌握了基本的动作要领，同学们个个摩拳擦掌跃跃欲试了!我们班分别和另外两个班进行了激烈的角逐。

“预备，开始!”口令一响，同学们身体后倾，双手紧紧地握住绳子，还用胳肢窝夹住。虽然我们面对的是强大的213班，但是我们并不觉得害怕，主要是因为我们做了充足的准备，哨声一响，双方的拉拉队突然想，声划破云霄“一，二——加油，一，二——加油!”那声音如同刚刚出生的老虎发出的百兽震惶的声音。

双方同时发力，绳子纹丝不动。突然我方拼出全力发出一步的距离，大家猛的退了一步，我为他们捏了一把汗。我虽然没有拔河，但是我知道一句俗语“先下手为强，后下手遭殃!”所以我们先退了一步就可能赢得胜利，我方拉拉队突然加大了声音，想借机制胜，可213班也毫不示弱。突然，不知他们哪里来的力量?猛得拉退了我们三部，我们浑身的神经都绷紧了，仿佛会崩断似的，我们突然喊得更加卖力了，看到大家咬紧牙关扎紧马步，面部狰狞，更加奋力的拉着，我想绝不可以懈怠，想让自己加入其中，可是大家接连“前进”，老师说过：谁坚持的最久，谁就可以胜利!我们嗓子都要喊哑了，双方一直僵持着。突然哨声一响，我们输了。

第二轮，大家不甘示弱，拼尽全力抗衡。强大的213像一股龙卷风一样，一股脑儿就把我们给撂倒了。

对方完胜!

同学们有些丧气，摊坐在草坪上哭了起来。默默滴回到教室，黑板上六个大字特别醒目“胜不骄败不馁”。大家更加深刻得意识到团结是多么重要。

Today is Mid-autumn Day. I have a big meal at home with my parents and

relatives. This is an important festival, so my mother was busy with preparing

the dinner from morning. She bought a lot of foods for the dinner. We ate the

dinner at 5:30 p.m.. The dinner was very delicious. I was so full. After dinner,

we went to theHongTingParkto enjoy the glorious full moon. There were many

people in the park. We talked to each other and strangers. Of course, the moon

cake was essential. We had a great night there.
