Dear Mr. Wang,

Thank you for a rapid response to our invitation. Enclosed you will find an

outline of events to take place during International Week here at the University

of Montana. I will also list a number of possible speaking engagements so that

you can choose those things in which you are most interested. As far as topics

are concerned, the topics for classroom visits are generally determined by the

professor, but most professors are very flexible. We have approximately

thirty-five faculty members that teach courses in Asian Studies, ranging from

language and culture to history and economics.

Here is a tentative schedule:

president and an introduction of visiting dignitaries

1-5 pm - Opportunity to visit festival, interact with student performers,

6 pm - Dinner with Director of Mansfield Center Phil West, Ambassador Mark

Johnson, and staff of Mansfield Center

Maybe you have never been there before, its well known for the hot springs there.

In 2003, I got the highest score in the College Entrance Examinations in my city and entered Zhongshan University. My major is Computer Science. My GPA ranks in the top 40% among all students, but I have stronger C programming skills than many others. Also, I was the first one to learn Java in my class.

I was chosen by a teacher of mine to participate in his project. The project was about a LAN chat room, and I developed the instant messaging system in it. I was the only female student in this project team.

比如，禁止放高利贷借款的利率不得违反国家有关规定。借款合同对支付利息没有约定的，视为没有利息。借款合同对支付利息约定不明确的，当事人不能达成补充协议的。按照当地或者当事人的交易方式，交易习惯市场利率等因素确定利息。自然人之间借款的事为没有利息。

星期一上午老师告诉我们，下午我们班2：00到东方红学校集合，去二中听国家著名作家汤素兰教授的讲座，我们兴奋极了，顿时像小鸟一样叽叽喳喳地议论起来。

我们早早的来到学校操场，排着整整齐齐的队伍耐心的等待老师到来，心儿早就飞到了二中。老师终于来了，带领我们像长龙一样的队伍奔向二中听汤教授的讲座。汤教授主要讲如何提高写作水平。汤教授的话我不仅记在本子上，我更深深的记在心里，特别是他讲的童话故事，把我们带进了一个离奇的童话世界，我们沉浸在里面久久不能忘怀，好象自己就是里面的主人公。许许多多的同学在思考童话里的问题，当汤教授提问时，许多同学举手，最后一个男孩子响亮的回答了问题并得到汤教授以自己写的书作奖励时，男孩露出了得意的笑容，我们也为他而高兴。

汤教授的讲座让我感受很深，我要从小就多读书，读好书，积累知识，才能写出好的文章，同时。我更应从现在开始认真学习，争当有用人才。

with decoration needs, constantly participating in and listening to your

decoration stories. Maybe some of our owners did not reach an agreement in a

short period of time, so they withdrew from your decoration stage. However, this

does not hinder yianju from sending you warm wishes for the new year and

keeping the same new house as you Happy mood; more owners have completed the

decoration tour of your home with the efforts of the eXcellent foremen of yianju

foremen club and the witness of yianju staff, which certainly contains

heartache, anger, joy and eXcitement. Of course, it is inseparable from your

hard work. Do you remember that our company staff asked the boss for leave to

facilitate you to go out and buy building materials? Do you still remember that

while you were out on business, you secretly went to the new house to "inspect"

the workers construction? Do you still remember that you were fined a days

salary because you didnt choose a suitable living room lamp for a whole

afternoon? Do you remember the quality problems and construction delay caused by

the workers disobedience and in accordance with his so-called "eXperience"? How

angry and mad you are! Ha ha, its all over. It doesnt matter. Whats important

is that your new residence has become better and better in various coordination

and communication, and has become the same as you imagine. All kinds of

happiness and unhappiness in the past 2-3 months have become memories, an

With your strong support, yianju foreman club has gradually completed the

transformation from ordinary decoration company to foreman club mode, adapting

to the home decoration mode of low gross profit and high output. While

Every family has lots of housework。 Everyone should learn to do some of it。 I often help my parents do housework such as washing clothes， cleaning the room and watering flowers。 I think I‘ve learned how to take good care of myself and my family by doing housework。 Sometimes cleaning all the windows is an enjoyable experience。 I really felt proud of myself。 And doing housework is also a kind of exercise。 The summer holiday is coming。 Im going to learn how to cook some dishes。 My parents will be happy to enjoy them。

Traffic safety is everybody＇s business. Records show that every year a lot of people die in traffic accidents. Some of the accidents are due to mechanical problems. However, most of them are the results of careless and reckless driving, and could be avoided. A lot of people disregard traffic signals and rules. They drive regardless of speed limits, run through red lights, drive in the wrong direction, talk and laugh while driving, and turn as they wish without giving signals. They don＇t slow down while approaching crossroads. So many people violate traffic regulations that we cannot put too much emphasis on the importance of traffic safety. Only when everybody thinks traffic safety is everybody＇s business can we be safe driving on roads and walking on sidewalks.

Hot-cross buns are popular foods on Good Friday.These are sweet fruit buns with crosses on top.Some people still make these with yeast,but shops now sell dozens in the week before Easter.

1．词语选择的重要性

在The Right Word at the Right Time的“序言”中，编者对词语选用的重要性作了一个很好的比喻：“Using the right word at the right time is rather like wearing appropriate clothing for the occasion：

成语“一字值千金”也说明了选择词语的极端重要性。有时“一字之差”造成令人遗憾的败笔，或招致成千上万的经济损失。这些反面的教训也告诉我们必须重视词语选用的问题。

2．词语选择的可能性

实际上，我们每个人的脑子里都有了一个或大或小的词库，只要我们肯去发掘，往往可以得到更好的表达方式。这是我们做好词语选用的主观条件。
