oh god! i think i was about seven and half when my sisters and i pulled this stupid stunt. i remember watching television with them and the show on happened to be our favorite program to watch. all of a sudden we heard my brother, chris, yelling from the backyard. so we all headed out there to see what happened. when we finally located him, he was in a tree hanging from the highest tree branch. crying, he explained to us that he had climbed up the tree and couldnt get down. we thought, okay, one of us should climb up and get him off, but we couldnt manage to get him moving down.

it was then my youngest sister, ka, who was five and a half at the time had seen a similar situation. she suggested we grab a sheet, hold it under the branch chris was hanging off of, and tell him to drop so we can catch him. my other sister, yams, who is one year younger than me, peered at me to confirm the idea and i said "yeah, lets try that".so we grabbed a sheet from the closet and went to hold it beneath the tree. now mind you, the ages holding this blanket were ranging from seven and a half to five and a half, thus the sheet was probably being held up to our waist and also close to touching the ground. but we were confident it could work.

we looked up to chris and he looked down at us a bit hesitant. i dont blame him the poor guy. it was then we told him to let go and to fall on his back. chris looked at me and asked "are you sure ill land on the blanket?" now, my brother at the age of four, had a cute squeaky voice. but because of a problem at birth with his tongue being a bit attached to the mouth, it came out more like this, "ah you sho awill lan on da blanked?", "yup!", i told him, "were sure!" and he let go.now when i think about chris letting go of that branch, i think of his faith in me and my sisters and i also think how stupid he was to trust us, cause when that boy let go he was in for a big surprise. chris fell right through that sheet and landed right on his stomach. and no matter how tight we held on to the sheet, he still managed to get through.

we were shocked and a bit worried and we looked at the ground where he landed. this tiny seventy pound boy had made a hole right through the sheet and landed. he was positioned like one of those chalk drawings you find after a homicide, with one arm near the head another to the side and the knee bent a bit. we might as well have drawn an outline because he wasnt moving. so we bent down to check if he was still alive and when we asked him if he was okay he uttered these five words… "ah stee hi da flow" in other words, "i still hit the floor!" poor little man! but before you condemn us, chris is fourteen now and he still bugs us about it, any tree he climbs he gets down on his own and, strangely, he wants to be a fireman when he grows up. now he can write that he had personal experience about jumping and catching. see, no harm done…

Thank you for taking the time to write your wonderful letter in support of MCEA (Maywood Chinese Education Association). Your letter clearly articulates all the major reasons children in Maywood will benefit from studying the Chinese language as part of their elementary school education. It provides invaluable support that will help making bilingual Chinese education a reality in Maywood public schools.

Although MCEA would like to see Palo Alto public schools implement the first bilingual Chinese kindergarten class in September of 2006, we have learned that the school district must take the time to understand how a new program will affect existing educational offerings, and to validate community interest. Nevertheless, MCEA, with more than 70 members, will continue to actively promote bilingual Chinese education in the Palo Alto public schools and will keep you apprised of the progress we make.

今年是中国人民抗日战争暨世界人民反法西斯战争胜利70周年。全世界展开了声势浩大的隆重纪念活动。中国共产党中央也专门发出通知，对这一上个世纪最重大的政治事件和最重要的历史事件作出安排部署，要求全国各级各地予以隆重纪念。作为一名中国共产党党员，作为一名政协委员，作为一名共青团干部，作为生在新中国、长在红旗下年轻一代的其中一分子，在特殊的时期写下这篇纪念文章，主要是想表达三个方面的意思：

70年，对于个人的一生来说，刚好一个花甲，似乎是很漫长的一段时间;但对于一个国家的一段历史来说，却异常的短暂。人上70，容易健忘，但中华民族70年前那段惊天地、泣鬼神、异常悲壮的抗战历史，却不容许忘记。

“忘记历史，就等于背叛”。70年前的胜利来之不易，代价万分沉重。无论是战胜国还是战败国，人民都是受害者，而付出的牺牲之大，遭受的苦难之深，当数中国人民为最。结束于1945年的二次世界大战，涉及全世界70多个国家和地区、20亿人口，总兵力达1。1亿人，军民伤死9000万人以上，中国就损失了3500万军民。日军在中国大肆烧杀抢掠，无恶不作，目前已发现的“万人坑”就有近百个。单是1937年12月日军在南京的大屠杀，死难者就不下38万，日本侵略者欠下中国人民的血债罄竹难书。

但是，70年来，日本军国主义的阴魂始终未散。我们不妨回忆一下，二战结束至今，日本历届政府就从未爽快地承认过发动侵略战争的责任，日本政界还不断有人跳出来为当年的侵华战争翻案，甚至有议员称，“二战时日本只同美、英交过战，并未向亚太地区各国发动过侵略战争”;他们还竟然企图抹杀历史事实，说什么“日本没有制造南京大屠杀”、“尉安妇从事的是光荣的职业”等豪无廉耻的话;他们不但拒绝向中国及其他受害国谢罪和赔偿，日本首相及公职人员还连年参拜国社，为战争罪犯招魂;日本政府有关部门还多次肆意篡改历史教科书，掩盖历史罪证;最近又频频滋事，对我鱼岛虎视眈眈，并妄图染指台海，制造了一个又一个严重挑衅中国主权和伤害中国人民感情的极端事件……

更值得人们深思的是，就是这样的一个国家，多年来，居然一直在千方百计通过外交途径和经济手段谋求作为联合国安理会常任理事国，近年更是达到了不择手段的地步，拉拢、贿，无所不用其极。目的是什么?用日本外务省的联合国局某些官员的话说，他们就是要创造一个转机，以雪无条件投降之耻辱。野心一语道破，暴露无遗。这就理所当然地遭到了世界爱好和平主持正义的人民，尤其是深受过日本侵略之苦的亚太地区人民的竭力反对。

这个假期，我在家看了一部电影——《我的战争》，看完以后受益匪浅，我被他们伟大的精神所打动了。

这部电影讲述的是在抗美援朝时期，中国有一群平凡、伟大、勇敢的年轻人，为了保卫国家，决定远赴他乡，在那样艰苦的日子里并肩作战，建立深厚的感情。刘烨饰演的是九连的核心首领孙北川，九连的兄弟们都很喜欢他，他身经百战，性格粗犷，心地善良。当他遇到了文工团队长孟三夏（王珞丹饰）时，内心又多了一层厚重的责任感。孟三夏是个性格开朗，刀子嘴豆腐心的姑娘，她经历这一场又一场的战争及生死考验后，她真正的柔软被唤醒。可她不知道，喜欢她的还有孙北川的好兄弟张洛东（杨佑宁饰）也对她暗生情愫。自从张洛东老爹牺牲后，她变得更加勇敢独立了。

这里面令我最感动的是他们去打537战争的时候，每一次打仗都会有兄弟牺牲，他们仍然与敌人顽强拼搏。看到这里，我被深深地打动了，他们为了保家卫国，牺牲自己，甘愿付出。

最后拿下537高地时，张洛东问孙北川：“你说会不会有人记得我们？”孙北川说：“肯定会有人记得的！”

是的，一定会有人记得。记得曾经并肩作战的你们，记得那些你们用鲜血、汗和泪水死守下的土地，更加会记得你们用生命谱写的辉煌！

看完影片，我感悟很深，我们作为学生，我们要尽自己最大的一份力去学习，争取长大后能回馈社会、成为祖国的栋梁！

春秋战国时期，象棋被发明了出来，要说楚河汉界的来历，那跟《史记故事》中楚汉争霸的故事有很大的渊源呢！

公元前203年，刘邦和项羽争夺天下，发动了一场规模宏大的战争。楚霸王项羽在士兵极度疲劳且粮食极度缺乏的情况下提出“中分天下”。以鸿沟为界，鸿沟以西属汉，以东属楚。楚河汉界以此而来。

拿出象棋，摆好阵势决心与哥哥大干一场，争夺天下。陈胜云：燕雀安知鸿鹄之志。双方都摆好了阵势。说话间，一场恶战便展开了。我是红方，我先行动。第一步，我便来了个“仙人指路”，哥哥不甘示弱，赶紧摆了个“炮二平五”，我进行反击，“马八进七‘’……而后，我实施猛攻：单枪匹“马”地就冲个上去，干掉了哥哥的两个小兵而哥哥的炮却无时不刻地提防着我的进攻，我的小马只好灰溜溜地逃跑了。

这回，哥哥的马行动了起来，我明白了哥哥的用意：他是要“将军偷车”！上一盘我就被哥哥给这样打败了。正所谓“吃一堑，长一智”吗，我赶紧把我那宝贵的车走了出来，以免受到伤害。俗话说得好“攻城为上，攻心为下”。于是，我两“马”齐发，在哥哥的阵营里制造混乱，哥哥忙得手忙脚乱。突然，我大叫一声：“将军！”哥哥连忙把老将往上移了一步。“哈哈！”我笑道。我用了哥哥那“将军偷车”的方法偷到了他的车，正所谓兵不厌诈嘛！但哥哥的猛攻持续不断，双方展开了对攻战。但攻势单薄的我只好转为防守，哥哥的猛攻越来越强，但在哥哥猛攻的强压下，我慢慢形成了联防的系统，抵挡住了哥哥的“狂轰滥炸”。我卧薪尝胆，秣兵厉马，以图东山再起。终于，我强大起来，决心直捣黄龙。我布下了十面埋伏，哥哥的军队慌不择路，被我杀得片甲不留，它们的耳畔响起了四面楚歌……

哥哥的老将已经成了光杆司令，被我的炮轻易拿下。“胜者为王，败者为寇”，一盘象棋到此分出了胜负，我取得了最后的胜利。

昨天晚上，我睡得正香，突然听见“嗡嗡”的声音在我耳畔萦绕。我转了一个身，这次振动的声音又响了。于是，我把头缩进被子里，但是那“嗡嗡”声音似乎犹在耳旁回荡。躲在被窝里太闷了，我索性坐了起来，打开灯，开始搜索起来。

在抗日战争史文章中，我看到了炮火连天、浓烟滚滚的战场。一个个满身鲜血、汗流浃背、奋力拼搏的八路军战士们。万山丛中，青纱帐里，中国共产党领导的敌后抗日游击健儿到处逞英豪；雁翎队、敌后武工队、铁道游击队，地道战、地雷战、麻雀战……使骄狂一时的日本侵略者陷入到敌后人民战争的汪洋大海。我还看到了19路军组织的“敢死队”出发前接受长官的指示。接着，“一、二八”的战火首先在闸北燃烧。一个个19路军沉着应战。我还看到抗战1月27日午后，日军准备开火的消息使住在北四川路一带的上海居民纷纷涌向租界避难。最后，蔡延锴军长临前线指挥……

“淞沪会战”中“八百壮士”的忠贞奖章，“血战台儿庄”的杀敌大刀，“武汉会战”中毙敌3000余人的万家岭大捷中缴获的战利品……抗战初期，国民党数百万军队对日军进攻进行了正面作战，给日军以沉重打击，粉碎了日本军国主义者“速战速决”的美梦。

“抗日则生，不抗日则死，抗日救国，已成为每个同胞的神圣天职！”“平津危急！华北危急！中华民族危急！只有全民族实行抗战，才是我们的出路。”“坚持抗战，坚持持久战，坚持统一战线，最后胜利必然是中国的。”

中国共产党，率先吹响抗战的号角。1937年“七七事变”爆发。在中国共产党的积极努力和推动下，国共两党抛弃恩怨再次走到一起，中华民族全面神圣抗战从此以燎原之势燃烧起来。

这场在1945年9月3日赢得的战争胜利全然不同以往110年前的甲午战争。从1840年开始到抗日战争胜利的105年间，几乎所有的大中小帝国主义国家都侵略过中国，而我们惟一赢得的，就是60年前的那场胜利。那是近100年来积贫积弱的中国第一次在一场生死存亡的民族战争中取得胜利，这场胜利改变了中华民族的历史命运，唤醒了沉睡了几个世纪的中国。

games. If we are tired and want to take a short rest, playing games for a while

is OK. But it’s forbidden that we spend hours and hours on the games. There is

also someone using computers to talk with people in the Internet and even

falling in love with him or her. The Internet is not a real world and we can’t

1937年8月28日，日本侵略者轰炸上海火车站。

顿时，上海火车南站的建筑物，铁路……瞬间断裂了。火车站顿时硝烟弥漫，血肉横飞，成千上万人因为倒塌下来的建筑物或者是被从空中投下来的炸弹炸死，幸存者逃的逃，叫的叫，哭的哭，乱成一片。

这时，从已经被炸断裂的铁路旁，传来一个幼儿的哭声。一眼望去，一个两三岁的男孩正坐在一片废墟上，它的四周全是血肉模糊的尸体，男孩显然已经被四周发生的一切吓坏了，男孩脸上全是灰尘，身上遍体鳞伤，可还坐在那哭着，这孩子真可怜，仿佛在用自己的哭声呼唤着爸爸的妈妈，或寻找其他的熟人。可是这并没有任何用处，没有惊动到他的爸爸妈妈，因为他们俩都被倒塌下来的碎片给压死了。

敌人的轰炸机还在空中盘旋，一枚枚炸弹继续轰炸着地面，地上的人死的死，伤的伤，血流成河。突然男孩仿佛听见了妈妈的呼喊，于是男孩爬到了妈妈旁边，替妈妈擦去灰尘，妈妈艰难的从牙缝里挤出“孩子”两个字就走了，由于侵略者的轰炸，使这个孩子变成了孤儿。

这原本是几百个幸福的家庭，可是，就是因为这可恶的日本侵略者，破坏了这几百个幸福的家庭。这一切都是因为这冷酷无情的战争。我想呼吁全世界，维护和平，制止战争。

Dear John，

It’s Father’s Day today. It’s a special day， isn’t it？ I think we should do something to show our love for our fathers on this special day. My father and I are good friends. Whenever I meet with difficulties， he is always there， ready to help me. Today I will make a beautiful card for him， with my thanks and best wishes on it. Then I will help him wash the car this afternoon and cook his favorite food in the evening. Besides， I’ll take a walk with him after dinner and then play chess with him， for he likes it very much. My mother has a pair of keen eyes which can speak.With her eyes,she observed my mood,gave me courage and made me strong.Therefore,I could face difficulties.

When I was a baby learning to walk,my mother always lent me a hand and encouraged me to get up while I fell down.

As I finally threw myself into her arms,her eyes smiled with praise.Later as I grew up,I met with more difficulties.But whenever I was frustrated,my mothers eyes always gave me hope and encouragement.Once I failed in exams,my mother encouraged me to find out the reasons.

Instead of blaming me she pushed me to do better.At last I overcame the difficulty.Now I have grown up and become more independent,but whenever I come across setbacks,my mothers eyes are always with me encouraging me wherever I go.

People always say that spring is the most beautiful season. But I don’t

think so. I like summer, autumn even winter better than spring. Because the

weather in spring is changeable. Maybe it is warm today, it will be cold

tomorrow. I often catch a cold in spring. Besides this, it often rains in

spring. I can’t go out to play ball games. I have to stay at home to spend my

time. How boring it is! Some people think the flowers in spring are very

beautiful, but I think the flowers in winter are more beautiful, because they

live through the extremely cold weather and we should learn from them.

Have taken off a shoes , have galloped to ocean , tide water pour up, have submerged my bound feet fork, water withdraws from down soon , seems to be scratching an itch woollen cloth for me! Be beach upper shell everywhere after ebbing,they are oceans gift to us , have yellow, having is white , having is blue , having is silvery white, ... Be really colourful. The fan that shells form great variety of fantasies , some image handful open , some hand , some images like Guanyin a peacock in his pride, some all kinds of image puppies, are really to be almost lifelike in appearance. I hasten to take up a sack to collect a few moments later, have collected right away once big chockful bags. I feel a little bit tired afterwards, will lie on the sandy beach, be really extremely comfortable in feeling the bosom who lies in the mother with regard to the image!

1937年8月28日，日本侵略者轰炸上海火车南站时，被记者拍下这真实的情形。

照片上，场面一片狼藉。天桥断裂了，铁路扭曲了，房屋残破了。钢架一根接一根地倒下，撞击着地面，压倒了一片的人，地上顿时血肉横飞，呻吟声、喊叫声弥漫了上海火车南站的上空。

在一些倒塌的废墟上，一个孤独的小男孩坐在一块铁片上嚎啕大哭，那哭声犹如电闪雷鸣。他的嘴张着，呼唤着：“妈妈，你在哪里？爸爸，我好害怕！我好想我们的家！”小男孩边说着，边用手拍打着地面，手划出了鲜血，他也不在乎。他始终相信，自己的妈妈和爸爸会来找自己。但战争是残酷的，日军又投下了一颗炸弹，声音响彻云霄，月台上横尸遍地，碎砖碎片压在人们的躯体上，其中就有小男孩的父母。他们的眼睛还睁着，在寻找自己的孩子！

滚滚的黄沙咆哮着来了，仿佛想掩盖这血的洗礼。

是啊，战争是多么的残酷，多么的可怕！战争使繁华的景象在炸弹中化为废墟；战争使可怜的孩子无家可归；战争使原本相亲相爱的亲人们再也看不到彼此。让我们行动起来：维护和平，制止战争！让世界变成充满爱和温暖的人类家园！
