Second, I’m unwilling to step into the society straight after high school. In my family, there are only three people, my parents and I. because of my

there are many advantages to have the second child. For one thing, the only

Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving Day, is coming. Its a traditional North

the Pilgrims, the first settlers in America. They shared the first harvest with

the Indians and gave thanks.

Thanksgiving Day is usually a family day. People always celebrate with big

Thanksgiving desserts. Relatives from other cities, students who have been away

Since I was at school, I have heard a lot about college. A boy near my

house is in college now, every time I meet him, I will ask him how he feels

talk and walk happily, they share things together, students and teachers discuss

It is generally believed that a high diploma guarantees a promising future. Some people identify high diplomas with profound knowledge and exceptional competence. Companies also tend to emphasize the academic achievement of a job candidate. Like it or not, there does exist a social reality – the higher diplomas one gets, the more popular he becomes。

On the contrary, other people claim that a high diploma doesn’t automatically translate into knowledge. A diploma, in their eyes, is only the acknowledgment of one’s educational experience rather than a guarantee of one’s ability. Therefore, we can never measure the depth of one’s knowledge by the grade of one’s diploma. Besides, many knowledgeable people don’t have a high diploma. Take Bill Gates for example. His dropping out of college cannot deny the fact that he is one of the world’s most learned men。

So I must say no one should ever equate a diploma with knowledge, because a diploma is nothing but a proof of a short-term study while genuine knowledge needs one’s lifelong devotion。

是成为画家吗？可我只会依样画葫芦，没有一点创意；是成为歌唱家吗？天生一幅乌鸦嗓子，难登大雅之堂；是女警察吗？我天性喜静不喜动，见个毛毛虫也吓得半死，抓不了坏人。不过，电视舞台里那些穿着奇装异服的美丽模特倒吸引了我，让我羡慕不已。那身段、那服装、那丰姿、那舞步、那旋律、那气势，多浪漫、多威风，真叫人心驰神往、如醉如痴。于是，“模特”住进了我的理想大厦，并逐渐占据了我的心。

我常常和小伙伴们一起走模特。迈着舞步，哼着小曲，神气活现，没有灯光、没有伴奏，却也别有一番风味。走模特步的时候，我总是很兴奋、很自信，心想：我一定走得好神气、好威风、好可爱吧？想着想着，我不禁飘飘然，仿佛自己已置身真正的舞台，尽情享受着无数观众的目光、掌声和鲜花，俨然名模出世。

但上了中学以后，我精心建筑的理想大厦逐渐动摇了。据说选模特对身高要求很苛刻，像我这样又矮又小、又不漂亮的黄毛丫头，恐怕是无人问津了。虽说以后还有希望长高，但父母的矮个遗传已无可辩驳地决定了女儿的未来。我灰心了、失望了。过去，当别人问起我的理想时，我总是自豪地说：“我要成为一名模特儿！”而现在，当有人问起同样问题时，我只能带着复杂的心情吞吞吐吐地说：“理想——我——也不知道！”

有一天，我无意中想起“拔苗助长”的故事，突发奇想：电视广告里不是有很多增高药吗？以后不妨试试，说不定哪一天，我真的能成为高个子，而圆模特梦。但不久，我又泄气了，因为许多人都说：电视广告是虚假的、名不副实骗人钱财的，增高药不用则已，若用，不但增加不了身高，还有副作用，使人永远停止长高而成“侏儒”。吓得我倒吸了一口冷气。看来这完全是异想天开，“模特”注定与我无缘了。

从此，我的理想大厦空了，它在期待着新主人，而“模特”成了我一个永远无法实现的梦。

曾经有人问我：“理想破灭了，你遗憾吗？”

我毫不犹豫地说：“遗憾，也不遗憾。遗憾，是因为我失去了它；不遗憾，是因为我曾经遐想过、追求过，而遐想和追求本身就是一种美，一种忘我的、神圣的、纯粹的美，我为自己曾经拥有过这么一种美而骄傲，怎么会遗憾呢？”

听了我的话，对方默默无语。是啊！有谁理解理想的真实内容呢？又有谁能体会追求的幸福呢？惟有真正的追求者。

高中的时候，我就向往着上大学，我总是在想，我以后究竟会走入一所什么样的大学呢！从哪个时候，我的心里就满是憧憬……听他们说，大学的校园可宽敞了，除了花花草草，教学楼，宿舍楼，办公楼，食堂，还有有大道，有图书馆，甚至网吧，各种特色小吃，餐厅，各种精品店，台球室，体育馆，理发店，酒吧等等。

要是我也能建造一所大学，我一定要好好规划，建一个占地5000亩以上的大学。我一定要建几幢很高的教学楼，每幢可以容纳上千人的教学楼，里面分普通教室，多媒体教师，电脑机房，教师办公室，后勤储藏室等等，样样齐全。等教学楼拔地而起，就要开始建造宿舍楼，分为男生楼和女生楼各几幢。接下来就是建造图书馆的时候了，我会为学校建造一个很大的图书馆，收集科学类，文学类，语言类，体育类各类的书籍。图书馆里面设置足够的桌椅供同学们学习，创造一个优雅的学习环境。紧接着，还要建造两幢食堂和洗澡堂，分区规划足够的公厕。

等这些最基本的设施齐全以后，就要开始规划美化环境了。首先，我要搞一个步行街，在街的两边开上各种特色小吃店，精品店，文具店，奶茶店，营业厅，等等。等同学们闲暇的时候就可在这些地方娱乐休闲，逛街买东西。还要建设两个环境优美的小花园，建一大块操场，操场的中间，会有一大块三亩的草坪。同时，还要在学生宿舍楼和教学楼和图书馆之间设立公交车站，这样，同学们上车就可以搭车去上。

Mr Shao taught me English when I was in Senior Three.With the bald head and hunchback, the fifty or some man distinguished himself from his counterparts in many ways.

He was so addicted to tobacco that he couldn`t even skip acigarette in the corridor at the interval between two classes. Due to the long time consumption of cigarettes, his teeth had gone totally bad and occasionally let off unpleasant smell which really disturbed us when we were talking to him.
