Laba rice porridge was first introduced to China in the Song Dynasty about

900 years ago.

Buddhism was well accepted in the areas inhabited by the Han Chinese， who

believed that Sakyamuni the first Buddha and founder of the religion， attained

enlightenment on the eighth day of the twelfth month. Sutras were chanted in the

temples and rice porridge with beans， nuts and dried fruit was prepared for the

Buddha. With the passing of time the custom extended， especially in rural areas

into the high mountains in his quest for understanding and enlightenment， he

grew tired and hungry. Exhausted from days of walking， he fainted away by a

river in India. A shepherdess found him there and fed him her lunch -- porridge

made with beans and rice. Sakyamuni was thus able to continue his journey.

The secret of success is not so much money as a strong will. A great man is

one who has a strong will and an indomitable spirit. In other words, if a man

Today smoking is a widespread habit ali over the world. Not only the old, the youth, but also middle school students have been engaged in smoking. Many of them think that smoking is a smart symbol.

However, smoking is harmful to one’s ,health. It contributes a lot of lung cancer, from which many people have died in the past years. It can also cause many other diseases. In a word, if you smoke, you do have a much greater chance of losing your health. Furthermore, scientific research shows that smoking is not only harmful to smokers themselves, but also a threat to public health, especially to women and children. Therefore, many countries have made laws forbidding smokers to smoke m public places such as cinemas, stations, hospitals, and so on Giveup smoking! If you don’t smoke, don’t start. Liu Kai is my classmate. He is a good student and always ready to help

others.

One day on his way to school，he saw a little girl crossing the road. A car

There was once a little boy that wanted to be a good captain, but he knew

that he was too poor for that; and so he made up a plan to go a world called

Penny. It was a funny name but he didn’t mind. He also thought that his family

wouldn’t let him to go on such a long trip, for Penny that world was a

hundred100 miles more away. It was a very, very long journey for a boy only 10

years old to do.

He insisted that in the night where nobody could find him gone; and so he

set off in 1981, where he could find some kind people in New York. He got his

purse, and set off on his journey a day before the year; he went off at March,

starting with bare feet; he met on his way a little girl wishing so much for

money, and he picked up his purse; but found out that he had but only a little

bit of copper coins, there was not enough for her.

He stopped a while for about 10 days to find a job to earn money; he was

always kind, and was willing to help others when they are in need. At last he

got 100 cents with was 100 silver coins, and that paid the little girl

wealthily, he still kept the copper coins in emergencies.

After two more days of journeying, he found a place where it was icy and

cold, he knew that he couldn’t make it to Penny in time, and, so, made a

comfortable shelter to stay in until spring; where he came out happily, and

started off in 1982. When he at last reached Penny, he found a good job, and

paid it off with the copper coins.

He preferred the money to his whole family, and got $100 in return to the

kind people with which helped him when he was like, in trouble or something

like. That, it was good that nobody ever questioned him where he was that whole

time when he went back; but he was still glad that he got to help his family.

When he recovered, he felt a little bit sad, and lay down; the next morning when

his parents came into his recovering house to take him home to rest and play,

they found his two hands clasped on his white covered sheet bed, as if dead.

This place comes where his parents were shocked; they knew that this was

the boy’s last sleep, the cried bitterly all night long, while there was still a

smile on the hero’s face.

As the new semester is coming, I feel so excited. It will be my last year

in primary school, so I cherish every moment with my friends. I have made up my

mind to study hard, so that I can be competitive for the better middle school.

My friends and I have also planned to go camping and we so are so looking

forward to it.

My teacher is Miss Xie . Her name is Xie Yuying . She’s our English

teacher. Her class is so much fun.

She has long hair， She’s tall and strong ， She’s pretty and active .She’s

very cute . She’s kind . but she’s evry strict.

Her favourite day is Firday. She’s often read books and play ping-pong.Her

favourite food is vegetables ，because they’re tasty and healthy .Her favourite

fruit are apples ，becase they’re fresh and sweet.

I like my English teacher .We all like her.

I am a happy girl, because I don’t have much things to chase, I will be

satisfied very easily. When I go to school and play with my friends, I will be

very happy. When I go home after school, my mother cook the delicious food, I

will be very satisfied to eat. When the weekend comes, I like to go out with my

father. This is my world, so simple and so happy.
