I live with my father and mother in a very big house in Dongguan. My parents are both very busy. They leave for work very early in the morning and don’t return home until late in the evening.

When I am home on weekends from school, we spend a lot of time together. We talk about my studies, my health and my school life. I love my parents very much.

The Great Wall of China

The Great Wall has a history of over twenty centuries.The first part of it was built during the Spring and Autumn Period. 我打算先编一个“鞭炮结”。“鞭炮结”应该也算是一种比较传统的结索了。它因为外形像鞭炮而得名。我把红黄两种颜色的绳子各剪60厘米，再剪5厘米的红线作为“鞭炮”的点火线。一切准备就绪后，就可以开始编了。我先把两条绳子对折，用环扣的方法把它们系起来，然后再插入“点火线”，最基础的步骤就做好了。现在，可真的要“点火”——为了防止滑脱，必须要烧结线头——了。我请求爸爸帮忙，可他让我自己动手试试。没办法，我只能硬着头皮上了。因为这是我第一次用打火机，我拿着打火机，手不停地抖着。书上经常告诫小孩子不能玩火，所以别说打火机，连火柴我都没用过几次。我心里非常忐忑，不知道怎么办才好。算了，豁出去了!我咬着牙，提着线，把打火机凑过去，颤抖着按下打火机的开关……“咝——”打火机发出了一种类似煤气泄漏的声音。“妈呀!”我连忙松开手，着实被吓了一跳。过了好几秒，我才定下心来，重新拿起手中的绳子。“冲啊，老天保佑!”我在心里默念道。那温暖的火苗给了我前进的动力。我先烧了一点，慢慢地把手往上移。“成功了!”现在的点火线下半部分已是黑黑的了，而且硬硬的，算是固定好了。然后我就照着书上写的，开始“‘井’字型互套”。一开始还有点生疏，不过时间一长就得心应手了。60厘米的线很快就用得差不多了，接下来就是最重要的一步——收尾了。在妈妈的帮助下，我把绳子系得很紧，然后再用打火机一烧，其实说到头来也就那么点事，一个“鞭炮结”就做好了。
