金爪儿是一只被人搭救的小隼雕，由于“监护人”严守不溺爱、不干预的原则，它健康地成长着。然而，就在回归自然的前夕，尚未成年的它被偷猎者诱捕，辗转卖到大西北。为了驯服它，偷猎者动用了狠心的种种手段，使其变成凶残的“杀手”，偷猎的“帮凶”。它在那儿结识了雌雕银脖，并与之结成“生死之交”。获救后，双雕被放归保护区，扭曲的天性开始复苏。有一次金爪儿误食了偷猎者遗留下的“激素”，在毒瘾发作中杀死了豹崽，与另一丛林之王老豹结下仇怨。金爪儿豁达大度，屡次放过前来寻仇的老豹。深受刺激的老豹却认定，只有杀了它，才能争取后代的生存权。老豹舍身为陷阱，欲与金爪儿同归于尽。千钧一发之际，金爪儿机警脱身，并承担起抚育小豹之责。

整本书中，我最爱阅读最后一部分“荒野之王”。老豹的爱子之情可歌可泣，金爪儿的王者风范使人羞愧不已。老豹去世后，它又大度地喂养小豹，帮它们度过了一生中最为难熬的日子。金爪儿，它才是真正的王者呀！

老豹，它又是多么伟大啊！为了孩子们，那两只瘦弱的豹崽，为了它们的安全，它不惜以血肉之躯充当擒拿金爪儿的陷阱。多么伟大的母爱，多么伟大的老豹！

而对于幼小的金爪儿，它的父母也充当了它最好的老师。它们不像我们，以万物之灵自居的人类，它们不溺爱自己的孩子：小隼雕怕高，恐惧飞行，他们威逼利诱，迫使它们自己主动飞行，主动捕猎，使它们在将来能自己生活下去。看，哪怕是空中的猛禽也懂得优胜劣的生存规则，在这一点上，现在的父母考虑得并不多，他们从没想过，有朝一日，人类也会像恐龙一样从地球上消失掉呢！在这一点上，人类是应该向这些动物学习的。

人类啊，身为万物之王的人类啊，是不是该反思一下呢？

We can not also eat some wild animals. We should ask other people to protect them, too. Let we protect animals together!
