Sacrifices of food and spirit money could keep them happy, and the family would prosper through good harvests and more children.

The Spring Festival is the first traditional festival of the Chinese people in one year. It marks the end of the old year and the new year has begun. The annual evening meal is one of the important activities of the Spring Festival, and the Chinese peoples families attach great importance to the dinner.
