Dear Sir,

I am writing to apply for a British Council scholarship to study in Britain. I did my five years basic training in medicine at Shanghai University. After this I successfully completed a one-year postgraduate course in Ophthalmology at the Peoples General Hospital, where I am at present serving a two-year probation in the Eye Clinic.

As a result of the publication in 2003 of my article in New Scientist entitled "Soft and Rigid Contact Lenses ", which was based on a survey of 37 patients over 6 months, I made contact with Dr. Li Ming of the Capital Hospital and Dr. Ma Li of the University College Hospital. I have received their help and advice with my current research project, which is a two-year survey of the acceptance of various types of contact lenses in 200 patients.

Despite their help, I feel that I cannot make real progress in this field unless I can actually have day-to-day contact with these specialists. I would therefore like to continue my research at either the Capital Hospital or the UCH as soon as my probationary period here is completed, and I would like to study in Britain for two years.

I enclose a detailed curriculum vitae and an offprint of my article, together with two letters of recommendation from Dr. Li Ming and Dr. Ma Li.

本次八年级英语月考从试卷上看考察知识面较广，题型较丰富，灵活运用程度接近中考。题的难易程度适中。题出得比较好，但学生答得不好，高分不多，平均分较差，主要存在以下几方面问题：

1。听力测试失分原因学生平时不习惯背诵句型，课文等，再加上没有听力材料练习，故失分严重。

2。选取题失分原因学生对知识点的掌握不准确不扎实，再加上审题不仔细，导致学生自我认为会得题没有拿分。

Nowadays, peoples life has changed a lot with the development of modern technology and economy, which has put lots of negative effects on the environment.

Why this? 端午节(the Dragon Boat Festival)，又称重五节，于每年农历五月初五庆祝。

racing)是其中的重要习俗。关于端午节的起源，有很多传说。一部分人认为端午节是为了纪念诗人屈原，另一部分人则认为是为了纪念战国时期的著名将领伍子胥。然而，屈原的传说流传最广。人们非常欣赏这位爱国诗人的高尚情操和出众才华，更对他投江自尽的结局深表同情。

This is our school. There are many classrooms in it.There are eight hundred students and sixty-nine teachers in our school. There are many trees and flowers in it. All the teachers and students like our school very much.

We come to school at seven.We havefour classes in the morning and two in the afternoon.

Our classroom is big and clean. We have lessons here. We do our homework at home.

在中期考试的时候有谁不紧张呢？我一听“中期考试”这四个字儿，心脏就差点从嘴里吐出来了，反正就是特别紧张。

这次中期测试，是学校出题来考我们。我是五年级的学生，不怕这次考试才怪！可是这有什么办法呢？我只好等老师发卷了。

卷子一发下来，我幌了一眼，就看到了几个我不会做的题，于是我就边做边思考那几个我不会做的题。可是等我把作文写完了都没把那几个题做出来。我赶忙把我不会做的题算了一下分，我大吃一惊，这6个题竟有11.5分，这不要我的命吗？这时，我便想转过身去抄白醇丹的卷子，可是她小气得要命，不仅不给我抄，还威胁我说：“如果你再不转过去，我就给杜老师告。”我什么人都不怕，就怕杜老师，我见了杜老师就像老鼠见了猫。我只好转过身，我表面上在听白醇丹的话，把身子转了过去，可心里却在说：“白醇丹，你等着，下课你死定了！”看来抄白醇丹的卷子没戏了。我便打起了抄何劲锋卷子的主意。我刚一转过身，何劲锋就给我使了一个眼色，表示杜老师在看我，结果我一转身，杜老师果然在看我，杜老师那眼神使我想起他平时常教导我们的话：“同学们，诚实无价。考试不能抄别人的答案，那跟偷别人东西没什么两样！”我看懂了杜老师的眼神，便埋下头想那几个我不会做的题。我想了半节课，终于把那几个题做出来了。

在中期考试的时候大概是我太紧张了，明明会做的题都想不出来，下次考试我一定不能紧张。哦！也不能抄别人的答案，要时刻记住杜老师的话：“诚实无价”
