鼓浪屿坐落在厦门的东南角，是一座与厦门岛隔海相望的小岛。小岛的西南方有一块中间有洞穴的两米多高的礁石，每当海浪拍击礁石，就会发出擂鼓一般的声音，因此而得名“鼓浪屿”。

鼓浪屿与厦门岛之间仅隔一条600米宽的鹭江，从厦门岛远望，它就如同一颗绿色的宝石镶嵌在大海上。最引人注目的是屹立在小岛一角的郑成功雕像，他身穿铠甲，手扶佩剑，目光炯炯地望向远方，就像是小岛的守卫神，千年不倒。

踏上鼓浪屿纵横交错的小路，时间仿佛静止了，岛上各个时代、各种风格的历史遗址和有年代的老建筑，正无声地向人们叙述着小岛的历史，讲述着曾经居住在这里的人们所发生的故事。那一座座大大小小的房子，极具特色，它们有的红顶白墙，圆圆的屋顶好似一顶小帽子；有的雕梁画栋，房梁和柱子上精美的浮雕就是一件件艺术品；还有的中西合璧，石头垒就的墙壁爬满了常青藤，显得斑驳沧桑……

日光岩是鼓浪屿上最高的地方，在那里俯瞰鼓浪屿又是另一番景象。只见整个小岛都被绿树环绕，所有的房顶都呈现出好看的砖红色，错落有致地掩映在层层绿树中，与海岸线一起构成了一副引人入胜的画卷。静立在日光岩上，看着时不时飘来的阵阵云雾慢慢变成披在鼓浪屿身上的白纱，闭上眼睛，朦朦胧胧中，宛若在仙境中一般，自己也仿佛飘了起来。

鼓浪屿还有着丰富的历史文化，各种纪念馆、博物馆令人目不暇接，其中最吸引我的就是郑成功纪念馆了。纪念馆里各式各样的展品让我大开眼界，有长满铁锈的铜炮，有将士们曾经穿过的战袍，还有经过复原的战船模型……它们记录了民族英雄郑成功的成长故事和他守卫台湾岛的光辉历史。
