In my understanding, if we refer to an ideal college life as a formal western dinner, then a high GPA, that is, Grade Point Average, should be the main course, while an active part in

During the winter vacation, nothing is different for my life. I wake up 11 o’clock Am everyday, after a washing, I have a good lunch with my parents. Next I play computer games till the time to have supper. After have dinner. I go on playing till 2 o’clock Am, and then go to sleep with tired. This is one dull day of my winter vacation.

I get home at about half past five. We have dinner at seven. After dinner I do my homework. If I finish my homesork early, I can watch TV for half an hour. I go to bed at half past nine or ten.

My New Life

This summer, I move to a new city with my parents, and I transfer to a new school. I used to live in the countryside, so my new life is so different from before. The school is a little far from my home, so I go to school by bus. After school, I have many activities in school. Classmates are friendly to me. I learn English now. It’s so interesting that I like it very much. Besides, life in city is different. There are many interesting places to go. At weekends, my parents take me outside. We go to the park, the zoo or go shopping. But we are not so familiar with our neighbors. I think we should build good relationship with them.

1972年2月，我真的来到了县城第一中学，开始了我的中学生活。

当我第一天走进校园时候，那些彬彬有礼的问候，让我倍感亲切。“你好，你叫什么名字？”“李阳。”我不厌其烦回答着同学的询问。就像是个复读机一样，重复着这种声音。

我被分到一年级一班。当我走进一（1）班找了一个位置坐下。不一会，老师来了。“请同学们安静一下。我是一（1）班的班主任，我叫刘智文。今后我们就在这里朝夕相处了，请同学们多多关照。”

“这个老师还蛮年轻，蛮和气的。看起来应该是个好老师吧！”我和同桌徐彦说。他只微微点了点头，没说什么。我对他的第一印象是一个字“静”。通过和彼此的认识，我也认识了许多新朋友。在这个班里，除了有新同学，还有几个老同学。张军、王小明、李玉、段红玉、张涛、林小强、王灵慧，他们都是我在小学五年级时的同班同学。老同学在新学校见面倍感亲切，寒暄一阵后。我们几个老同学无限感叹的说：“从今天开始，我们就要在这里度过漫长的初中生涯……”

我们进入中学的时候，学校、社会那种无序的大动荡已近尾声，学校已经复课，“文革”中受冲击的老师也已经“解放”。我们初一共九个班。当时毛主席发表最新指示说：学生还是要以学习为主，在这样的指导思想下，那时我们为革命学好文化知识的气氛还是比较浓的，班与班之间比学习成绩、比学习气氛。也经常排出名次。学习成绩优秀的同学受到大家的拥戴，得到大家的尊重；对学习较差的学生，我们开展一帮一，一对红，还组织了若干课外学习小组，互帮互学，当时的老师们授课也非常认真，时常排除各种干扰一丝不苟的给同学们教授文化知识。

当年的教与学都是非常艰苦的，一方面本来三年的初中课程要压缩为两年完成，又没有成套的教材；另一方面，由于“文革”几年动荡，我们的小学文化知识基础不牢，许多知识都没有学过。教学难度大，同学压力也大。但是，当时我们的各科老师都非常的敬业，他们根据当年教材，结合自己教学经验，一边给我们补习文化知识，一方面搜集资料自编教材，给我们补充讲授我们应当掌握而教材又没有的知识。忘不了各科老师为了我们掌握更多的文化理论知识而付出的努力，像英语老师殷秀辉当时已年近60，但她几乎每天早早到校，见缝插针的督促同学们背诵英语单词，课堂上，经常找来英语版的寓言故事放录音，放幻灯片然后让同学复述。千方百计地锻炼我们的听、说、读、写能力。生物尽可能给同学提供自己动手试验的机会。特别是语文教学，采取的是开门教学方式，老师带领我们搞社会调查，写村史，组织校际间交流，还将同学们分成若干小组，给予不同的课题。如：搜集文学各种体裁的表现形式，工人、农民的语言特点等等。然后各组汇报、交流，老师再加以指导，既授予了我们文化知识，又锻炼了我们的实践能力。为我们今后继续深造，自学打下了基础。

老师们的敬业精神深深的感动着我们，同时促使我们加倍的努力学习，当时我们学习的气氛非常浓厚，大家恨不得把过去耽误的时间拉下的课程一下子全部补回来。许多同学经常学习到深夜，学习好的同学主动帮助学习吃力的同学，学习吃力的同学也主动的请教学习成绩好的同学。课余时间大家经常在一起交流学习经验，探讨学习难题，经常会为终于解出一道数学难题而兴奋不已。积极向上，比学习，比进步，蔚然成风。
