小河见证了家乡的变化。记忆中，当年小河上没有正规的桥，而是由几根粗壮的松木栓在一起，供人过往。没有走过这种桥的人还真不能轻意地在桥上行走。雨天出门时，母亲总要提醒上桥时要横着脚板走，并且一定要一只脚站稳后再走另一只脚，这样才不被跌倒。后来，有个在区里工作的干部下来扶贫，看到了这一现状，专门请来了设计师，并筹措了一些钱款，发动乡亲们自己动手，建成了一座桥，取名“连心桥”。竣工那天，好不热闹，十里八村的乡亲们都赶来庆贺，当时还请来外乡三台手扶拖拉机在桥上通过，说是按照南京长江大桥建成通车的模式办庆典。有位乡里“老秀才”还送来一幅楹联：一桥落成凝深情，四化建设跨新程。

桥通了，自然路也修好了，于是家乡的变化越来越快，我们也从这条小河上走过，进入了城市。然而每次乡下来客，我总忘不了问问那些小河边上的事。
