Grandpa Li is more than seventy years old， and he doesn’t have any son or

daughter. He wanted to invite some old people to his house for dinner， but no

one can help him. Mingming took his classmates to Grandpa Li’s house when he

knows it. They helped Grandpa Li make the bed， do the dishes， sweep the floor，

take out the trash and so on. Grandpa Li was very thankful. He asked Mingming

and his classmates have supper with them. But they thanked him and then

left.

A little boy wanted to read a book, but he had no money; he decided to earn

some in return. But he had nothing to do, and so he just had to stay at home

just like usual life; he was very sad.

Suddenly, a strange thing took place, and he began to make use of something

that he wanted to try. After a short time, he came back from the basement with a

ruffled shovel in his hand. When it was time to finish the work that he was to

earn money, he smiled happily.

His work was to shovel snow for the other neighbors in the winter, because

most of the times when snow was very, very big; some of the house doors got

block, and they need to pay $100 for a builder to come and shovel the snow out

of way. But now the boy will help shovel the snow, and they need only to pay $10

in return. At first the boy was not good at it at all, but soon he got the use

of it, and earned lots of money. When it was time to use the money, he figured

that he didn’t have enough to pay for the grammar book that he wanted for

school. It was not that big of a deal of very much; but was not quite things of

time.

He kept on this work for 4 years, until he had finally got enough money to

buy the grammar. He was so very excited, that he jumped about in the room from

brick to brick. When he went to the store, he figured it was closed; all the

grammars are sold out, but in the other hand in opened because he shoveled the

snow away which let him get enough money to buy another grammar in another

store.

It was almost summer and the snow melted away, a statue of him was made up

in the town square where he lived; for making the snow disappear. He was also

the first in the class every morning, because he was willing to learn some

identities to learn grammar. He loved grammar. And when it was time for him to

head home and buy another harder one; he used the same plan just a little

better.

And when people saw his statue shimmering in the morning sunlight, they

would remember his gratitude for everybody in the town.

It was a “Magnificent” day; it was already beheld the shoveling day.

As a child, I am very naughty and forget about what my mother tells me. One

time, I go back home very late. When I see my mother, she smiles at first and

then turns angry, because she has told me before if I go home late, I must tell

her in advance. I let my mother heart-broken. I feel sorry and promise it won’t

understand: The human multi-strengths are big, the people ascend the firewood

flame to be high, only then everybody unites, works as one, can do very much

well the matter.

On June 1st day， all children are very happy. On that day， we don‘t go to

school. Most of the children will go to the park. In the park， some children are

flying kites， some are playing football， and some are playing a game. In the

sky， there are a lot of kites. But there is only once a year we will have this

happy festival. I think Children‘s Day is the most important holiday for the

children. Because everybody has fun on that day!

My name is __, a sophomore majoring in International Trade. Having

learned and lived on campus for nearly two years, I have found university life

most exciting and instructive.

What happens around me every day has left a deep impression on me, but what

strikes me most is the canteen service on campus, so that for some time I have

had the keen desire to write to you, sharing with you my positive comments on

and negative feelings about it. On the one hand, we are happy to see that the

canteen staff has been sparing no efforts to guarantee food quality. As a

result, we are relieved from the anxiety that some food might be dirty, stale

and inedible. We also feel contented with the service provided by the canteen,

enjoying food in a homely atmosphere. On the other hand, improvements should be

made for the simple reason that prices for dishes are unreasonably high, and

that the canteen is not spacious enough and too noisy at times.

Therefore, to improve the overall service of the canteen the strengths

should be encouraged, while the weaknesses ought to be overcome by lowering

prices and expanding the canteen if possible.

Dear Tom,

Im just writing to let you know that were all well, and I hope you are, too. Unfortunately, Ive got some rather bad news for you: Im afraid I made a bit of a mess of Johns car. Anyway, heres what happened.

We were on our way to Carols after a long party, and I suppose it must have been about eleven o’clock. Well, the last few miles back home were really dark and deserted. I now realize I was probably going a bit too fast for a country lane because, although the road was fairly straight, I drove up onto the curb and went into a tree.

Of course, John was absolutely furious and started shouting at me and cursing. After we d argued for a few moments, we decided to look at the damage, and he calmed down a bit. Well, we found we could move the car, but the wing was caught on the wheel, so we couldnt drive it. I tried to pull the wing clear, but I didnt succeed.

Anyway, John went off to phone for a breakdown lorry, but while he was away, I had another go at the wing and this time succeeded in pulling it right off. I threw it onto the back seat, and by that time John got back and we were ready to go?so we didnt need the breakdown lorry at all. John has more or less forgiven me now, but he was very angry with me for a few days. I suppose I was a bit careless.

Well, thats all for now. Next time I write I hope Ill have better news for you.
