Dont eat too much meat or suger，but more vegetables and fruit.Third you need enough sleep or rest . 郭明义参军之前，只是初中学历。在部队时，他抓住“缝隙时间”学习英语。来到矿山工作后，他每天晚上都骑自行车往返20多公里，到市内的夜校学习。

1992年，国家“七五”重点建设项目——齐大山矿扩建工程进入开工准备阶段，郭明义又考入英语强化班进修一年。1993年工程开工后，他担任了33台、每台价值1000多万元、载重量154吨生产汽车——电动轮现场组装的英文翻译。

美国犹格里德公司澳大利亚售后技术服务部中国区总管，两次劝说郭明义到他所在的公司工作，并承诺给予比他当时收入高6至7倍的工资，可老郭不为所动，说：“我上党校、夜校、进修，都是企业支付的学费，还发给我补贴。我对企业有感情，我要回报企业，对企业的发展有信心。”

虽然电动轮的进口备件质量检验不归郭明义负责，但每次对着备件做翻译时，他都认真检查，先后发现了5台电动轮有质量问题。公司与外方据理力争，最终获得10万美元的赔偿。
