In the book， at the beginning， the author presents us a very beautiful image of a rather harmonious family who live a happy life. However， that beautiful image couldnt last long， the darkness came soon. The master of this happy family， Uncle Tom was arranged into a difficult situation. As Shelby， the not cruel master， he has incurred serious debts- prompting him sell some slaves to avoid financial ruin， so Uncle Tom， Shelbys loyal servant since childhood was sold to Mr. Haley， the slave trader. Uncle Tom remained loyal to his master， despite his betrayal and the risk of death at the cruel hands of a new master. The slaves at the plantation were very mournful， but Tom remained placid and tried to read his Bible for fort. On the steamboat to New Orleans， where Tom was to be sold， Tom befriended an angelic little girl， “Little Eva” St. Clare. Uncle Tom saved the five-year-old beauty from drowning， and she convinced her father to buy Tom for her own family. In her family， Tom enjoye.

In the novel， the slaves were sold from one place to another frequently， and their fate was tragic， with no exception- just like Uncle Tom， no matter he was under the control of kind masters or evil masters， he cant escape the misfortune of being sold from one master to another. We cant see any human right of them， so terrible.

As someone said， with more people realizing the inhumanity of slavery in the 19th century， slavery became one of the most important issues and it became more violent year by year in American society. However， slavery was not abolished irrevocably until ratification of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution in 1865， following the Civil War. After the passage of Fugitive Slave Act of 1850， Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote this novel Uncle Toms Cabin which publicized the evil of slavery to a wide audience.

Oliver Twist, one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century.

I knew Mark Twain when i was a middle school student. In my memory, there is an article in my English textbook that written by him. At that time, I pay no attention to Mark Twain. Mark Twains short story of "one million pounds note" is a very good work. As far as i am concerned, the One Million Pounds Note takes an interesting, satirical look at the hypocrisy stemming from class distinction in England. England is a country where class and wealth are given extreme significance, especially among the rich. The novel shows the hypocrisy that existed among these people, how the rich are quick to change face when they find out that youre a man of wealth and how within the next moment they revert back to their condescending selves when all wealth is lost. The story was based on the main theme by emphasizing on the hypocrisy of the upper class society but at the same time it also creates a balance that prevents the novel from being a mockery of the British society. The love story appears at the right time and there is plenty of comedy to keep one entertained. The ending is a little predictable but the director does an overall good job by rounding it up and presenting his points.

As I remember, a old man Brooks was released after he had been in the jail for 50 years. But he found that the world became completely different from the world he imagined. I have seen the novels name --the Kite Runner many times from the Internet,when it comes to "the novels moved you most".With curiosity,I downloaded it.When reading the novel,from the beginning to the end,I felt a heavy stone of sorrow on my heart.

It is a story about friendship,about fault and atonement,about the good and evil of human natual.

The narrator of the story,Amir ,is born in a rich family.Hassan is his servant as well as close friend.They both lose mother from birth and grow up like brothers.

From Hassan ,I see the most kind and beautiful soul.He never means to hurt anyone.he protects Amir bravely and has a broad mind to endure what Amir do to him.With the promise to run the kite,he hands the last cut kite to Amir though he has insulted by the bully,Assef. for lifetime,he cherishes the friendship,even he dies of protecting Amirs house."For you,a thousand times over"he does as he says…

If Hassan can be described as an angel, then Amir is just a person.when he is a boy,he is badly want fathers love and care.he will be jealous,he will fear and be cowardly.When he sees Hassan insulted by Assef,he is so scared that he only hides and watches.he sees what happened but keeps it as a secret.In order to escape the guilt,he makes another fault, making Hassan leave by framing Hassan .Years past, he is still haunted by betraying his childhood friend.

I was shocked when the big secret reveals: Hassan is Amirs half brother,the son of his father and a sevants wife! Amirs father lives a torturing life,he is torn into two parts.He cant give Hassan the love in the name of a father,which is unfair to Hassan.That explains why he seems care little about Amir …

Knowing the truth,Amir has a painful struggle at the first,and finally chooses the right way,a way of atonement.He rescues Hassans orphan ,Sorhab,from Assefs hand.At that time,he faces up to Assefs fists,being a man not cowardly.Having gone though a lot of difficulties,he finally brings Sorhab to American.But Sorhab is emotional damaged by adversity.Amir make efforts to revive the little heart.At the end of the story,Sorhab shows a lopside smile,which delights Amir much.Amir run kite for Hassans son,and says what Hassan once said,"for you, a thousand times over".The snow will be melt,and the spring is coming…The ending is not clearly told,but full of hope.

I like the author written style.Theres paragraghs of internal monologues,warm memorys , sad plots,horrible war scenes…the words,sentences always catch me tightly,make me think,make me cry…Now if someone ask me what novels impressed me most,The Kite Runner will be an answer.

It is the first time I have seen a novel in English.It is hard for me to insist on reading as there are so many words I have to look up.But it really benefit me in some way.

Every preconceived notion audiences might have about "Anaconda" is correct. This supposed serpentine shocker features doomed adventurers wading through murky water while a deadly snake approaches and "Jaws"-like music throbs. The plot retraces a formula employed by countless predecessors to kill off its supporting characters in a predictable sequence. And theres the bad guy with the foreign accent, and the requisite romance between handsome anthropologist and shapely journalist. Dr. Steven Cale (Eric Stoltz) is heading down the Amazon in search of an undocumented Indian tribe. Joining him is Terri Flores ("Selenas" Jennifer Lopez), a filmmaker charged with recording Dr. Cales quest. Ten minutes into their voyage, snaky Paul Sarone (Jon Voight) jumps aboard and commandeers the boat to begin a Captain Ahab-style hunt for his gigantic underwater nemesis: the titular anaconda upon whose nonexistent shoulders this movie rests. Despite satisfactory performances from the cast, the films human characters remain secondary to this nasty snake and the special effects that created it.

Scary, this movie isnt. The faux serpent, albeit an impressive creature, looks wholly unrealistic as it zips through water and air like a Saturday morning cartoon character. And such schlocky touches as the anacondas penchant for regurgitation are more gross (and funny) than frightening. What chills there are spring more from standard stalk-and-startle techniques than from the creepy characteristics associated with snakes. Director Luis Llosa ("The Specialist") shot "Anaconda" in Brazil, and the tropical setting imbues his movie with much-needed authenticity and cinematic richness. Llosa advances the story at an absorbing clip that never bores the audience, and he wisely eschews any high-minded discourse about good and evil. As cheesy, predictable horror flicks go, "Anaconda" squeezes considerable life from its limited aspirations.
