The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, usually

in February or March in the Gregorian calendar. As early as the Western Han

Dynasty (206 BC-AD 25), it had become a festival with great significance.

called the "Yuanxiao Festival."Yuanxiao also has another name, tangyuan. It is

small dumpling balls made of glutinous rice flour with rose petals, sesame, bean

Tangyuan can be boiled, fried or steamed. It tastes sweet and delicious. What’s

more, tangyuan in Chinese has a similar pronunciation with "tuanyuan”, meaning

寒假的一天

终于，到了该吃中午饭的时间。我伸了伸懒腰，对妈妈说：“去出去吃饭吧!”这时妈妈正在织毛衣，听到我的话似乎吓了一大跳，愣了愣，说：“作业写完了没?”“写了写了，都写了，可以出去吃饭了吧!”“出去吃什么饭，在家随便吃点儿就行了!”“就是长大了也应该过生日出去吃饭呀!”“你看我们大人什么时候过生日吃过饭?好了好了，今天中午吃蒸米饭，好吧?”现在我真后悔，说出刚才的话，也讨厌人会成长，会长大!今天又该吃蒸大米了，真烦人。

晚上，我小心翼翼的问正在看韩剧的妈妈：“今天晚上我能多看会儿电视吗?”妈妈猛然间回头，我突然间感到阴风习习，妈妈生气的说：“不可能!”“为什么妈妈?今天可是我生日，我知道我长大了，可我毕竟还在上初中，我还只是个孩子，我需要玩耍!”妈妈说：“自从你10岁后你就不在是一个儿童，而是一个少年，你已经长大了，这已经不是过不过生日的问题，而是你自己应该承担怎样的义务……”就这样，妈妈说了一大堆不着边的话，我实在听不下去了说：“妈，我帮你扫地吧?”“这还差不多，来，奖励你个棒棒糖!”“妈，我已经不是小孩子了!”可是，刚说完我就后悔了，我不是刚说自已经不是小孩子了嘛!

睡觉时，我怎么都睡不找，觉的自己特别倒霉，唉!谁让我长大了呢。

During the winter vacation, nothing is different for my life. i wake up 11 oclock am everyday, after a washing, i have a good lunch with my parents. next i play computer games till the time to have supper. after have dinner. i go on playing till 2 oclock am, and then go to sleep with tired. this is one dull day of my winter vacation.

But i havent bored all the time. sometimes i read the books, sometime i listen to the music or the radio in the bed, because it was very cold outside and snowy all the day. and i also meat some of my good friends during the vacation, we have a very long talk about the life of each other in the past year and play table tennis tegether. and i watched the spring festival party of the cctv in the last seconds of the 2004 year! i think this is the thing most people of china doing at that time.
