我是一只生活在乡下的田鼠，每天过着面朝黄土背朝天的生活。我住在一个地下的自己打的洞里，用来躲避我的天敌——猫。我的家乡是一个山清水秀的地方，这里有花有草，风景宜人。我还有一个住在城里的老鼠表弟。它每次回来的时候都会告诉我们在城里的舒适生活，让我们一帮兄弟姐妹好生羡慕。当时我最大的愿望就是能住到城里面前。

一天，我正在找吃的。好不容易才找到一小根玉米，我高兴地脱着玉米往前走。“喵——”从墙角窜出一个敏捷的身影，我立刻扔下玉米，转身就跑。那身影也跟着我跑了起来。我看准一个时机，立刻钻到我的洞里。“喵——”那只猫懊恼的叫了一声，转身离去。“好险啊，差点被抓。”我一边揣着粗气，一边说。看来今天又要饿肚子了。

一阵喧闹声从上面传来。发生了什么事？我一边把头探出洞外一边想着。一群人拿着一些仪器边走边拍，指指点点。过了几天后，村里的居民纷纷搬走了，一台台的挖土机开了进来。我从周围的田鼠口中得知我们的村子被开发商们看中，正准备改成旅游度假区，没过多久就要开发到我们这儿了。

我们田鼠家族最具声望的田鼠长老严肃地站了出来，说：“如今，我们的家园将要被破坏，我们应当站出来共同抵御敌人，保卫我们的家园。”长老的话引来大家的一阵掌声。一只田鼠站出来书：“我们要去毁坏他们的文件和机器让他们无法工作。”这个意见一提出，立刻就被同意了，我们一锤定音，准备第二天进行。

后来，我听说那次行动失败，好多田鼠都被杀死，我的故乡正式开始改建。

到了城里后，老鼠表弟把它洞里的一个房间给我住。可我觉得城里太吵，太闹，完全不是我想象的那样，就连猫都不抓老鼠了，一个个胖的像球。我开始思念故乡。思念故乡的山清水秀，思念我的兄弟姐妹，思念我那舒适的田鼠洞……就连当初最讨厌痛恨的猫也变得可爱起来。在不知梦见了多少次故乡后，我打算返回故乡。
