Summer Holiday in Taiwan

Summer can be very hot in southern Taiwan where the temperature usually goes up to 32"C or more. Because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. Also because of this I stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky.

Actually I like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. In the summer vacation that has just ended I went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. This summer vacation， however， was not spent entirely in seeking fun. As a second-year senior student I had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. In other words， I must find time to study， too. So I divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

As is clearly shown by the two pie charts, from 1980 to 2004 the students who go traveling and do social practices during vacations increase greatly while those who stay at home decrease a lot. For instance, in 1980, only 9% of the students took advantage of their vacation time to do social practice, but its percentage has been more than tripled in 2004. Obviously, great changes have taken place in the way that college students spend their vacations.

Considering these changes, we can find there are possibly three main reasons. Firstly, with the fast development of economy, many people have become rich, which makes it possible for more students to go traveling. Most parents tend to support their children to travel financially. Secondly, the reason lies in the fact that the boom of tourism has made traveling attractive and, also, modem transportation has made it easier for students to go out to travel. The travel agencies not only provide historic sightseeing but also cultural as well as educational tour around China. What is more important, the fast changing society has raised higher requirements for college graduates. The authorities of Chinese university or college have been encouraging their students to do social practices in the hope that college students would broaden their view to know more about the society and become more adaptable to the future work after they graduate. Therefore, more students go out traveling or doing social practices during the vacations.

As a college student, I think the charts reflect the exciting progress on the college students’ thinking patterns. We have become much mature to realize how to spend our vacations meaningfully and practically. Form the changes in the charts, it is easy for us to predict that more and more college students will walk out their home and throw themselves into more various vacation activities.

“五一”长假一开始，我们一家人就迎着和煦的春风，来到了东莞伯爵山庄度假。

我们订好房间，放下行李，便各自骑着自行车四处游玩。伯爵山庄的环境非常优美，其中也有不少的游乐项目。我们来到游乐场，先玩一种名叫“摇滚乐”的游戏。人坐在各自的“小屋子”里，从24米的高空中倒过来落下去，游戏场中不时传来一阵阵尖叫声。那种感觉真是又恐怖又刺激，好玩极了。可是下来时，我却头重脚轻，似乎随时会倒下去。

最有趣的当属去钓鱼了。准备好鱼具，我们就来到鱼塘。我先把蚯蚓穿在鱼钩上，然后将鱼钩甩到水中，便耐心地等待鱼儿上钩。可是半天水面也不见一点动静，我不由抬眼向哥哥望去，恰巧哥哥也在偷眼打量我这里的情况，四目相对，两人不禁尴尬地笑了。“鱼好像不愿到我的鱼钩上来”哥哥小声地嘟囔着。原来他也没有鱼儿上钩。再看旁边的那个人，没多会工夫，就钓到两条大鱼，我羡慕得不得了。

[五一假期的趣事作文

上个假期，我和姐姐们一起到农村奶奶家度假。乡村里的天比城里的更可爱，空气是那么的清新，天空是那么的明朗，使人心旷神怡。我们跟着哥哥们在山坡上找野菌，捕野鸡……漫山遍野都留下了我们的足迹，虽然收获寥寥无几，但却很开心。

今天是“五一”假期的第一天，今天早上七点半我就起床，先坐地铁五号线，在东单站倒一号线来到北京石景山游乐园，游乐园还没开门，但是门口等了好多人。

刚一进去，我就去了门口的售票亭买了一张游乐卡，并向里面冲了150元人民币。进去后，我首先想坐矿山车。矿山车不算刺激，只是在转弯处有点吓人。矿山车的最高处才最刺激。因为上面的的时速很快，非常刺激。下来后，看见不远处有“疯狂迪斯尼”几个大字，我一阵猛跑着坐上去，在那里面坐得我都快吐了。下来后，我走路都是天旋地转的。我随后又去坐了UFO飞碟车，但是后来转了一会儿都没有我想坐的。这时，我看到了弹射塔，就是坐在椅子上，椅子上突然弹起，随后又突然下降，连续几次，挑战极限啊，太刺激了。再往前，我看见了我最喜欢的“激流勇进”，排队的人太多了，妈妈替我排队，我去玩附近的项目，大约半个多小时，才排到我们。这是水上项目，妈妈不敢坐，我和两个姐姐做一条船，水流特急，从高处下来时，我们三个人一阵尖叫，我身上的衣服都湿了，特刺激，下次来北京我还要坐。我后来又去“玩峡谷漂流”，它模仿长江三峡，下来时我也是满身是水。我走一路玩一路，接着玩了玛雅探秘、飓风车、怪物飞船……

今天，我真是太开心了！我希望以后还能来。我会在平时节约点钱，因为我想来北京石景山游乐园玩的更多的项目，也希望游乐园再添点刺激项目的设施。

五一节对我来说是个快乐的事情。由于我过得很开心又很有意义。

五一那天，我们到大姨妈家祝贺他们住新房子。大姨妈家的房子又宽又大，漂亮极了。楼下还有游泳池能游泳，还有电梯，不用爬楼梯，舒服多了。我想：要是我家也住新房子那该多好啊。可是，母亲说买房子需要很多的钱。我说：“我以后不再买衣服和玩具”。母亲说：“好啊，要从小养成不乱花钱的好习惯”。

特别是5月4日那天特别有意义，我们去三坪峙拜拜，还放了很多的鞭炮，吓得我捂住了我的耳朵。回来的路上，我们又开车到老龙姨丈的亲戚家。那里的人衣服又脏又旧，到处都很臭。林阿姨带我到屋顶上，我看到碧绿碧绿的草和许多许多的树，我对林阿姨说：：你们真辛苦啊”。母亲说：“是啊，你以后吃饭吃青菜时不要总是呸出来，要做个爱惜粮食的好孩子”。

今天是五一节的第二天,我和妈妈、爸爸去世博园，世博园我已经去过多次，但是，这次很特别，

今天天气还算不错，只是有些闷热。

我们乘坐出租车来到世博园门口，见到了许多车，我想，今天世博园一定很热闹，还有五颜六色的各国国旗在大门口随风飘扬，要进门的时候，有个小猴子在欢迎我们。

我们就进去了，啊!一片花海呈现在我眼前，花海中漂浮着一个巨大的花钟，远处开来一艘花船，那五个花柱仿佛是海中的航标灯，沿着花街走去，就是大温室，大温室的门口有一群白色的鸽子，许多游人在喂它们，可爱极了，大温室里有高山植物馆、热带植物馆、百花园，各样珍稀的花草，让我们看得眼花缭乱。

从大温室出来，我们又去了中国馆，在那里展现出中国的文化艺术和民族特色，还有一些室外风景，这是中国馆里的花园，也是世博园的一个特色，就是园中有馆，馆中有园。

穿过中国馆的后门，有一棵巨大的榕树，你以为它是真的，它也很像真的，但是它的的确确是用水泥做的，这棵榕树今年才三岁，榕树的侧面一条小路通向中国展区，中国展区是根据中国地图来设计的，有西藏园、新疆园、云南园、贵州园、上海园等。

沿着小路走去，就来到了蝴蝶馆，蝴蝶馆里有各种蝴蝶，我们看了蝴蝶、变色龙、乌龟等。

沿着小路向西走，就发现一条河，一边是向远的路，一边是宽阔的泉池，幽静极了，“我们就去那儿休息一下”我提议。妈妈说：“好，就去那休息。”到了那，我们一边休息，一边喂鱼，碧绿的湖水映着蓝天白云更加显得清澈。

随后我们到了树木园，园内有许多树木，但是我觉得像在登山，因为有许多小山坡，真有意思!再往上走十米远，我就到了小温室，也叫白云芳香，走进去一看，啊!真美!各种植物都很奇特。

小温室旁边是一个叫春的园林，我一进去，原来是个开放的，最壮观的地方，要数那个瀑布了，水从高高的山崖上倾泻直下，真让人激动啊!

从春出来我们开始爬山，过了一会，我们站在了观景塔，如同登上了珠穆朗玛峰一样。

然后，我们就坐上小火上到了大门，依依不舍的离开了世博园

我苦苦期盼的“五一”终于来了我们一家人邀上楼下的朋友一起去赣州“宝葫芦农庄”。以前我总是会晕车的，这次竟然精神抖擞，欣赏着车窗外的景色，心儿也跟着飞起来，情不自禁地哼着歌，不知不觉就到达了向往已久的目的地。

一下车，放眼一瞧，真壮观哪!各色各样的小车，熙熙攘攘，排着长队;男女老少，摩肩接踵，人声鼎沸。在喧闹声中，我依稀听到人们的惊叫声。我的心被这叫声紧紧地抓住了，不由自主地迈步朝里走，家人在后面大声叫：“跑那么快干嘛?……”嘿嘿!我可不管了，等不及啦! 献祝福,祝福网

我们玩的第二个项目是攀岩。站在岩壁前，伙伴不由得叫了一声：“这么陡!怎么上?”我一看，是啊!岩壁只有三层楼房那么高，但却直直地矗立着。虽然有辅助的铁杆可以踩，但铁杆之间间隔比较大，要爬起来还是有难度。不过我们可不愿意放弃，决定与它一决高下。我像只蜘蛛一样身子紧贴着岩壁，左右开弓，两手轮换着紧抓住铁杆，还得时时关注脚下，步步踩实，生怕“一失足成千古恨”。有时手不够着，就得想方设法踮起脚，伸长手，小心翼翼地移动。爬上顶点的那一刻，我和伙伴都兴奋地“耶”起来!

接着，我们去乘坐了大型三环过山车。一阵阵轰鸣，一声声惊叫，听着就让人心惊胆战，不过这反倒激起了我们几个小孩强烈的挑战欲望。迫不及待地买好票，又开始了新的激情体验。缓缓开动的过山车，眨眼间越转越快，我的心骤然提了起来，似乎随时都会蹦出胸膛，头也像要炸裂了，耳边只能听见惊叫和飕飕的风声……

About 5 km(3 miles)south of Sanya City in Hainan Province lies a hill extending in the shape of an enthralling deer looking back. This hill is the very same one mentioned in the legend of the Li Minority Group. There once lived a diligent and brave hunter in the Wuzhi Mountain area so the legend goes. This young man came across a charming deer one day while out hunting in the mountain. He chased the deer for about nine days and nights，traversing numerous hills and dales.

海南省三亚市区南边区约5公里处绵延座落着一座小山。这座山形如一只凝望的迷人小鹿。这就是黎族传奇故事中提及的完那座山。

Having reached the Luhuitou cliff edge，there was no way(where)for the deer to escape except into the churning sea below. Just as the hunter was about to shoot the deer with an arrow，it miraculously transformed into a beautiful and enchanting girl Surprisingly，the deer was originally a fairy girl and was fond of the excellent character of the young man. She took a fancy to the seaside around Sanya and led the man here in the guise of a deer.They fell in love，got married and later settled in a village here一Hence the hill，the peninsula and the village are all named Luhuitou. Sanya City is also referred to as"Deer City".

据传说，很久以前，五指山地区有位勤劳勇敢的猎人。一天，这位年轻人在上山打猎时偶然发现了一只美丽的花鹿。他穷追不舍，一直追了九天九夜，翻过了无数山头和溪谷。

Luhuitou Hill，at an altitude of about 280 meters(918 feet)，is the main peak of Luhuitou Peninsula. Its a pleasant place to appreciate the sunrise and sunset， and overlook the downtown area of Sanya City. At the foot of the hill，you can see various kinds of halobios，including starfish，crabs，sea cucumbers，actiniae and jellyfish. Up along the hill，a kind of red flower called Triangle Plum will come into view. Its the City Flower of Sanya. Halfway up the hill，a tuft of Triangle Plum，de-scending like a waterfall，is a really amazing sight. Not far from the flower and at the foot of an old tree stands a tablet inscribed with the red Chinese characters Hai Shi Shan Meng(a solemn pledge of love.On the branches of the old tree are hanging many ribbons indicating the permanent love of peoples prayers. Walking along，you will see a pavilion called Shanmeng(unalterable love)Pavilion containing the Shanmeng Tablet，which corresponds to the four characters mentioned before. At the top of the hill，towers a twelve-meter(39 feet)high granite statue.The statue is really unique in its design;consisting of a deer looking back，flanked by the young Li hunter and the beautiful fairy girl，its a visual reminder of the memorable legend.

他一直追到鹿回头悬崖边缘，花鹿没有别的办法，要想逃命只有跳入下面的汹涌大海。正当猎人搭箭射向花鹿时，花鹿奇迹般变成一位美丽迷人的姑娘。令人吃惊的是，花鹿还是一位仙女。她非常弃欢年轻人的优秀品格。她喜欢三亚附近的海滨，让这位年轻人假扮一只鹿来到这里，他们坠入爱河、结婚井在这里的一个村庄定居下来。从此，这里的小山、半岛和村庄一起取名为鹿回头。三亚市也因此被称为“鹿城”。

The area around the statue has been turned into a park，called Luhuitou Park. The park contains the Observation Station for Halleys Comet，the white Tingchao Pavilion(a pavilion for listening to the tide).the romantic Lover Island and Monkey Hill among other attractions.

鹿回头山海拔高约280米，是鹿回头山顶公园的主峰，是观赏日出和日落、鸟瞰三亚市区的好地方。山脚下，游客可以石到各种各样的海洋生物，包括海星、蟹、海参、海葵和水母。沿山而卜，映人眼帘的是一种名叫“三角梅”的红花，这是三亚市的市花。在半山腰，一簇簇“三角梅”像瀑布一样向下延伸，真是美极了。在离花不远的一棵古树脚下。竖着一块山盟碑，上面写着“海誓山盟”(爱的终言)几个红色汉字。古树的枝条上悬挂着很多表明祈祷者爱心永恒的丝带。向前走，游客会看见一个名叫“山盟亭”(不变的爱)的亭子，里面有前述写有四个汉字的山盟碑。在山顶上屹众着一座12米高的花岗岩雕像。雕像设计独特，上刻有回头鹿，侧面为黎族青年猎人和美丽的仙女。这是一个令人难忘的传奇故事视觉提示物。

Luhuitou Peninsula is not only a romantic peninsula，but also a lush，natural environment covered with deciduous frees and plants. It is the ideal place to spend a winter holiday in China.

雕像周围地区已经变成了一个公园，叫“鹿回头”公园。公园里哈雷彗星观察站。白色的“听潮亭”(听潮的令子)，还有浪漫的“情人岛”以及“猴山”等其他景点。 鹿回头山顶公园不但是一个浪漫的半岛，还拥有一个被各种落叶树和植物所覆盖的青葱茂密的自然环境，是中国冬天度假的理想胜地。

今天是劳动节，我和妈妈去公园山玩。猛烈的太阳发出耀眼的光芒，照耀着喜气洋洋的人们。

我们来到“三国迷阵”，妈妈买票，刚进去，我以为迷宫很简单，只要绕一圈就可以出来。可我们在第二圈绕来绕去，就是没有找到门。还好几次走进死胡同。

我们又去看动物，我看到美丽的孔雀，可爱的凤凰鸟、小小的山鹿、呲牙咧嘴的猴子、凶猛的老虎、懒洋洋的狮子、笨重的黑熊等等许多动物，我用相机把它都拍下来。

开始动物表演，饲养员领出山羊站在圆弧形的凳子上，山羊小心的用脚转圈，还在一条粗绳子上走，接着下楼梯;大黑熊出场，它不但学人站立走路，还用前腿把一根大棍子转起来，越转越快……

今天游园很有收获，我没想到笨重的.黑熊，还会做这么灵巧的动作，真是“熊”不可貌相呀!

五一节本来是劳动者的节日，劳动者都会上街上游行，可是现在却渐渐演变成了放假。这个五一节，我过的很有意义，我既帮妈妈干了很多家务活做了面条，还出去玩了。

我先去帮妈妈擦桌子，我把所有的桌子都擦了一遍，然后又去扫地，扫完地后擦沙发，擦沙发可费了我不少劲，先把抹布洗干净，然后把沙发擦一遍，要擦得很干净，然后再把清洁剂抹上去，再用抹布擦一遍，沙发就差不多干净了。

干完了这些活以后，妈妈给我了两块钱。我干完了活后妈妈都会给我几块钱，这些钱我就可以用来买东西了，也就是我的零用钱，我现在一共都有32元钱了。

接着我们要吃午饭了，妈妈决定教我下牛肉面，妈妈先让我从冰箱里拿出来一袋面条，然后从里面拿四块面放到开水里煮，我因为怕被开水烫到，所以就面条直接扔到水里，没想到溅起来的水花更大了，妈妈赶紧教我要把面条慢慢放进水里，就不会溅起水花了。面条煮好后，把牛肉放进去，煮一两分钟，就可以盛出来了。

这次五一节，我还出去玩了呢，爸爸带我去了海岸城的反斗乐园玩，反斗乐园很好玩，用人民币换一些游戏币就可以去玩那里的游戏，玩完后就会得到票，票就可以换一些小礼物。还可以办一张卡这样就可以把票存进去，留在以后票多了再换礼物。反斗乐园里有许多游戏，有敲锣打鼓的，有抓娃娃机，有看运气的猜测游戏，有练准确性的投球游戏，有射击类的游戏……我和爸爸玩了其中的一些游戏，很好玩，最后我们用634张票换了一个小包包，是用来装卡或者月票的，小包包上还画了两个女孩，很漂亮呢。

这个五一节我过的十分开心玩，你过的怎么样？

Korea is a country that famous for its beach, culture, even their products. Luckily, I had a chance to go to Korea last year.

When I got Korea, it was night. We went our hotel. To our surprise, the hotel was so beautiful and nice, the room was comfortable and the food in the restaurant was also delicious.

The most famous palace in Korea Gyeongbokgung Palace. It is spectacular and it is too big that we spend 5 hours finishing visiting this place.

We also try the Korea food. But I dont like it, it was always made of vegetables and seafood, with a little salt and oil, but my mother said it is healthy.

The shopping mall in Korea is big, very big. The Lotte shopping mall is the biggest one with almost all kinds goods in it. We bought many nice things.

I enjoy myself during this trip. If I can, I want to visit there again.
