2015年1月17日下午，我和爸爸、妈妈到人民广场，参加燕赵都市报社组织的小记者义卖报纸活动。

当我们来到预定地点签到后，家长给孩子们买来不同份数的报纸。老师告诉了我们今天的任务是爱心义卖，并说明了义卖活动的意义。对我来说，这次义卖就像是部队中经常说的一个词：实战演习。我们把这些报纸卖出去后，再把这些卖报纸的钱捐给贫困的孩子们。

纵观千百年来的科学技术发展史，那些定理、定律、学说的发现者、创立者，差不多都很善于从细小、司空见惯的自然现象中看出问题，追根求源，终于把？ 拉直，变成！ 找到了真理。

就拿洗澡来说，是一件非常普通的事情。洗完澡，把浴缸的塞子一拔，水哗哗地流走……然而，美国麻省理工学院机械工程系的系主任谢皮罗教授，却敏锐地注意到：每次放掉洗澡水时，水的漩涡总是向左旋的，也就是逆时针的！

这是为什么呢？谢皮罗紧紧抓住这个问号不放。他设计了一个碟形容器，里面灌满水，每当拔掉碟底的塞子，碟里的水也总是形成逆时针旋转的漩涡。这证明放洗澡水时漩涡朝左并非偶然，而是一种有规律的现象。

1962年，谢皮罗发表了论文，认为这漩涡与地球自转有关。如果地球停止自转的话，拔掉澡盆的塞子，不会产生漩涡。由于地球不停地自西向东旋转，而美国处于北半球，便使洗澡水朝逆时针方向旋转。

谢皮罗认为，北半球的台风都是逆时针方向旋转，其道理与洗澡水的漩涡是一样的。他断言，如果在南半球则恰好相反，洗澡水将按顺时针形成漩涡；在赤道，则不会形成漩涡！

谢皮罗的论文发表之后，引起各国科学家的莫大兴趣，纷纷在各地进行实验，结果证明谢皮罗的论断完全正确。

谢皮罗教授从洗澡水的漩涡，联想到地球的自转问题，再联想到台风的方向问题，并做出了合乎逻辑的推理，这正是他目光敏锐、善于思索的体现。

无独有偶，在近百年前，一位名叫密卡尔逊的生物学家，调查了蚯蚓在地球上的分布情况，他指出，美国东海岸有一种正蚯蚓，而欧洲西海岸同纬度地区也有正蚯蚓，在美国西海岸却没有这种蚯蚓。密卡尔逊无法回答这是为什么。

密卡尔逊的论文，引起了德国地质学家魏格纳的注意。当时，魏格纳正在研究大陆和海洋的起源问题。他认为，那小小的蚯蚓，活动能力很有限，无法跨越大洋，它的这种分布情况正是说明欧洲大陆与美洲大陆本来是连在一起的，后来裂开了，分为两个洲。他把蚯蚓的地理分布作为例证之一，写进了他的名着《大陆和海洋的起源》一书。

魏格纳从蚯蚓的分布，推论地球上大陆和海洋的形成，这正说明：他的成功在于从问号中寻求真理。
