The Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingways most enduring works and may very well become one of the true classics of this generation.It played a GREat part in his winning the Pulizer Prize in 1953 and the 1954 Novel Prize for Literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. 中国是四大文明古国之一，有着悠久而辉煌的历史，《史记故事》就记载了许多祖先的故事。

书中有运用智谋而完璧归赵的蔺相如，有胸怀大志的陈胜和吴广，有为了安定天下三过家门而不入的大禹，还有拥有三寸不烂之舌，可以舌定乾坤的张仪……

让我印象最深刻的是《孙武练兵》这篇故事。孙武善于练兵，吴王阖闾为了试其才能，故意选拨了108位宫女，让他练兵。孙武将宫女排成两队，挑了吴王最宠爱的两个妃子当队长。但在孙武发布号令时，宫女们都一个个笑了起来。孙武又重复了一遍“军令不可违”，宫女们依然只顾嬉笑。孙武下令斩首队长，吴王闻讯，急忙求情，但是孙武说：“吴王已经把她们交给我来练习，我就必须依照军队的规定来治理她们。队长没带好头，必须按照军规处置。”处置完队长后，孙武回到场地再行令训练时，竟无一人懈怠取闹。吴王虽然痛失两位美人，但却发现孙武确实是个军事奇才，很快便重用了他。
