As we know, World Reading Day which falls on April 23rd is drawing near. The purpose of the global festival is to promote reading and publishing. Nowadays, a lot of students prefer to spend much time in watching TV and they are crazy about Internet. So, most of them dont have enough time to read books. And still worse, they dont like reading. However, reading is necessary. I firmly think that by reading, we not only enrich our life ,and broaden our horizons but also learn to perfect our personality. Now that reading is good for us, let’s develop a good habit of reading. I strongly suggest that every one of us should read at least one or two good books every term.

尽管天气很热，我们还是兴致勃勃地开车去海洋世界。

一到市民广场，我就看见一座又高又大的蓝色玻璃房，非常漂亮，再加上那海洋世界的牌子，就显的更壮观了。

我们排着整齐的队伍从入口进去，乘着电梯到了四楼。一进去，里面全是大大小小的玻璃鱼缸，鱼缸里有许多鱼，看得我眼花缭乱。首先进入我眼帘的是大铅笔鱼，它像一只横过来的铅笔，头尖尖的，身体细细的，浑身灰色的，漂浮在鱼缸里。珍珠鱼过来了，很引人注目，它浑身红色和紫色相间着，竖在水里像一根根棒棒糖。接着刺豚鱼进入我的视线，它圆溜溜的，像个球，浑身长满刺儿，用来保护自己。最后，我们看到的是射水鱼，它竖着身体像把漂亮的伞，美极了。

下了楼梯，这下我们看到了大名鼎鼎的国家保护动物—中华鲟，它的家园真美啊！上有瀑布，下有澡堂，我真羡慕它悠闲的生活。

我们要去海底隧道了。一进去，脚就非常凉快，一看，原来是脚下有空调。抬头一看，天花板、墙壁全是透明的，可以看见一大群一大群鱼，还有珊瑚……

走出隧道，就看到了人鱼表演。我看呆了，一位潜水员竟引出了一条魔鬼鱼，跟它载歌载舞。别看魔鬼鱼肚子扁，饭量还真不小，潜水员给它条小黄鱼，它一口就吞掉了。

我们又要下楼了，没进门就听见一阵欢呼声。我进去一看，原来是海豹在表演。只见训兽员吹了声口哨，小海豹们就乖乖的滚上来立正了。全场都被小海豹的才艺惊呆了。小海豹们要跳高了，跳到训兽员的手算及格。小海豹使劲地跳，仿佛在说：“哇，好高，我怎么跳了10次还跳不上去。”，终于，小海豹用了九牛二虎之力跳上去了。全场人爆发出了哄笑声。小海豹得到了训兽员的奖品，“嗖”一声钻到水里游泳去了。

时间“咻”地一声就过去了，我们该回家了。出门后，我得到管理员阿姨给我的一枚珍珠。这意外的礼物，更让我舍不得离开海洋世界，我还想再看看这些海洋动物，还想和它们做朋友呢。这次去海洋世界，真的太开心太难忘了！

As is well known by now throughout the world Harvey Ball, a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts created the smiley face in 1963. That image went on to become the most recognizable symbol of good will and good cheer on the planet.

As the years passed Harvey Ball became concerned about the over-commercialization of his symbol, and how its original meaning and intent had become lost in the constant repetition of the marketplace. Out of that concern came his idea for World Smile Day. He thought that we, all of us, should devote one day each year to smiles and kind acts throughout that world. The smiley face knows no politics, no geography and no religion. Harvey’s idea was that for at least one day each year, neither should we. He declared that the first Friday in October each year would henceforth be World Smile Day.

The very first World Smile Day took place in Worcester, MA on October 1, 1999. What a celebration it was! State and local dignitaries gathered and read proclamations in support of the day. Another proclamation recognizing the day was read on the floor of the United States Congress and is now part of the Congressional Record, the reporter of the official proceedings of the US Congress. Thousands of Worcester school children created World Smile Day® cards that were then delivered to area hospitals and nursing homes. The event became national and even international news.

The US Postal service came to Worcester that day to unveil its new Smiley Face stamp design. And, the Postal Service issued a special cancellation just for that event. Each year since then the USPS has issued a different cancellation commemorating the day.

In his inaugural address on that very first World Smile Day Harvey Ball laid the groundwork for that World Smile Day saying that the smiley face “…just reflects what is inside every one of us – a smile is what we want to see when we look at another human being.” He said, “Sometimes we forget that. Sometimes the world seems big and filled with problems that are too hard to understand much less solve. We start to believe that we are too small to make a difference. But that’s not true. The truth is that every one of us has the ability to make a difference every day.”

Harveys hometown of Worcester, MA has been and continues to be the epicenter for World Smile Day.

一来到海洋馆，高大的建筑就给了我一种神秘莫测的感觉，我们便迫不及待的进去了。进入海洋馆，我就看见了一个很大的玻璃水箱，水箱中五颜六色的珍稀鱼儿好像在欢迎我们前来参观。我们顺着游览路线往前走，一路上参观了许多海洋动物：可怕的鲨鱼、憨厚的海龟、全身像纸一样柔软的电鳐、还有我从未见过的寄居蟹……非常好看。

很快，我们就到了海洋馆的第一条海底隧道，我兴奋的跑进去，参观起来。这条隧道里有中华鲟、铅笔鱼，还有一种比我还大的鱼。我看了资料才知道，这叫“巨骨舌鱼”。巨骨舌鱼有好几米长，最重可达400千克，它也是最大的淡水鱼类。

在海洋馆里最有意思的事就是喂海豹了。我买了一份海豹们喜欢吃的鱼，夹在棍子上，悬在海豹池上空。一群海豹见有食物了，都纷纷游了过来。一只贪吃的小海豹腾空一跃，想吃鱼，我急忙把手一抬，它扑了个空。它不甘心，又扑了几次，都以失败告终，气得它“啊啊”大叫。我得意地笑了，没想到它趁我不注意，突然一跃，我猝不及防，鱼这才被它吃到了。它心满意足地砸砸嘴，游走了。看着海豹那可爱滑稽的样子，我们不禁哈哈大笑。

除此之外，我们还参观了珊瑚类鱼、鲸豚馆、企鹅馆海师剧场等许多东西，我还买了几个纪念品呢！

Todays holiday my father and mother went to the Ocean Park.

这里给我印象最深的还是一段隧道，它的全长大约有50多米，周围全是玻璃，而玻璃的里面是各种各样的,五彩斑斓的小鱼。那里面还有重达200多斤的大海龟，3米多长的鲨鱼，直径1米多的魟鱼等等，从我的旁边自在悠闲地游过，个个千奇百怪，真是美不胜收，那魟鱼长的像蝙蝠，魟鱼在水中游就像在水中飞一样，非常的优美，我不禁拍了几张照片当做留念。哪里还有3米长的鲨鱼，尽然比我高出好多，太可恶了!鲨鱼都比我大。

在海底世界里，即使你不了解海底的生物，也可以闻到海洋的气息，我想那些海洋生物也在呼唤着我们一起保护大海吧!

你可能很难将海洋与西安这个内陆城市联系起来。不过，曲江的海洋世界，却让人有一种穿越时空，从内陆猛然来到了一个热带海岛的错觉。

曲江海洋世界完全是以热带海岛为背景修筑的。从热带雨林到金色沙滩，从浅海珊瑚到深海奇景，十分逼真。在这迷幻奇异的海洋世界里，鱼类、虾类、兽类游来游去；各类海洋植物生机勃勃。

我最喜欢热带雨林区的巨树海滩和浅海珊瑚区的海底隧道。

巨树海滩有五六棵十余米高的巨树，树干内有楼梯直通树冠，树冠与树冠间有吊桥或被挖空的原木连接，还设有瞭望台。树林旁是个人造海滩，玻璃笼子里，有数条咸水鳄和蛇类。站在树顶的瞭望台上向下望去，你看，它们时而爬上海滩追逐，时而滑入水中嬉戏，自由自在地，令人十分惬意。

海底隧道则让你彻底进入了海洋之中，270度的视野让你将海底奇景尽收眼底。这时，你既有一种新鲜感，又情不自禁地紧张起来，因为有数条三米多长的大鲨鱼在你身旁游弋。它们的眼神充满了杀意，但细看，又透着一丝哀伤，让你的怜悯之心油然而生。

海洋是美丽迷人的，是绚丽多彩的，是令人流连忘返的……啊，海洋，我爱你！

暑假里，我和家人去了日照和青岛旅游，逛了很多地方，其中最好玩的就是“极地海洋世界”。

“极地海洋世界”在青岛，里面有许多漂亮的海洋生物，甚至还有北极熊和企额。你们别看北极熊样子笨笨的，又长的肥，但它们游起泳来可是很快的。在“极地风情”舞台上我还学了爱斯基摩人的“丰收舞”，不过现在已经想不起来了，呵呵!

在热带鱼展区，我们看到了许多五彩斑斓的鱼儿，有黄色的，蓝色的，斑纹的，圆点儿的……有一种鱼叫“狐狸鱼”，因为它的脸形特别像狐狸，颜色就是黄色带着黑色条纹，很漂亮!

我们还看到了大海龟，它们背着深绿色的大龟壳，四只脚缓慢地在水中划着，向前游动。海龟们游的一点也不快，反倒是爬起来时能快上一些，真有意思!

其中最吸引我的还是海豚表演，我看了两场呢!可爱的海豚会用嘴转呼拉圈，而且转起来比人转的还要好，大家可能会不太相信吧，不过这是我亲眼所见的，当时主持人叫了一名观众和海豚比赛呢!还有“环场跳跃”，当海豚跳起来时，在空中形成了一道优美的孤线，美丽极了……

看完表演，我不禁想：海豚多聪明啊!我们一定要保护动物，如果动物都灭绝了，那我们在动物园还能看到什么?在海底世界又能看到什么呢?

昨天我去海洋馆了。我和爸爸妈妈一进去就看到了鳄鱼在水里睡觉，爸爸用手拍出了特别响的声音，一只鳄鱼醒了，看见有人喂它东西，它吃了一口就又睡着了。我和爸爸妈妈又走到了鱼多的地方。有一种鱼叫狗头，你说这名字好笑不好笑。一会儿，海洋馆放了几声广播，说：“海豚表演了。”我们到了海豚那里，饲养员正在喂它。过了一会儿，饲养员让它顶球玩。表演完之后，我和爸爸妈妈又去看鲨鱼表演，一名潜水员叔叔和几条大鲨鱼在水里游来游去。

我还看到了五颜六色的海星，真漂亮啊!

我玩的好高兴啊!

Oceans becoming more acidicThe worlds oceans are slowly getting more acidic, say scientists.The researchers from California say the change is taking place in response to higher levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.The lowering of the waters pH value is not great at the moment but could pose a serious threat to current marine life if it continues, they warn.Ken Caldeira and Michael Wickett, from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, report their concerns in the journal Nature.Increasing use of fossil fuels means more carbon dioxide is going into the air, and most of it will eventually be absorbed by seawater.

Once in the water, it reacts to form carbonic acid.Scientists believe that the oceans have already become slightly more acidic over the last century.But these researchers have tried to predict what will happen in the future by combining what we know about the history of the oceans with computer models of climate change."This level of acidity will get much more extreme in the future if we continue releasing CO2 into the atmosphere," said Dr Caldeira."And we predicted amounts of future acidity that exceed anything we saw over the last several hundred million years, apart from perhaps after rare catastrophic events such as asteroid impacts."If carbon dioxide release continues unabated, ocean pH could be reduced by as much as 0.77 units, the authors warn.It is not absolutely clear what that means for marine life, however.

Most organisms live near the surface, where the greatest pH change would be expected to occur, but deep-ocean lifeforms may be more sensitive to pH changes.Coral reefs and other organisms whose skeletons or shells contain calcium carbonate may be particularly affected, the team speculate. They could find it much more difficult to build these structures in water with a lower pH.In recent years some people have suggested deliberately storing carbon dioxide from power stations in the deep ocean as a way of curbing global warming.But Dr Caldeira said that such a strategy should now be re-considered."Previously, most experts had looked at ocean absorption of carbon dioxide as a good thing - because in releasing CO2 into the atmosphere we warm the planet; and when CO2 is absorbed by the ocean, it reduces the amount of greenhouse warming.

平时，经常听同学说海洋世界很好玩，我很想去，可都没时间。中午，我正在家做作业，妈妈打来电话说要带我去参观海洋世界，我可乐坏了。

尽管天气很热，我们还是兴致勃勃地开车去海洋世界。

一到市民广场，我就看见一座又高又大的蓝色玻璃房，非常漂亮，再加上那海洋世界的牌子，就显的更壮观了。

我们排着整齐的队伍从入口进去，乘着电梯到了四楼。一进去，里面全是大大小小的玻璃鱼缸，鱼缸里有许多鱼，看得我眼花缭乱。首先进入我眼帘的是大铅笔鱼，它像一只横过来的铅笔，头尖尖的，身体细细的，浑身灰色的，漂浮在鱼缸里。珍珠鱼过来了，很引人注目，它浑身红色和紫色相间着，竖在水里像一根根棒棒糖。接着刺豚鱼进入我的视线,它圆溜溜的，像个球，浑身长满刺儿，用来保护自己。最后，我们看到的是射水鱼，它竖着身体像把漂亮的伞，美极了。

下了楼梯，这下我们看到了大名鼎鼎的国家保护动物—中华鲟，它的家园真美啊!上有瀑布，下有澡堂，我真羡慕它悠闲的生活。

我们要去海底隧道了。一进去，脚就非常凉快，一看，原来是脚下有空调。抬头一看，天花板、墙壁全是透明的，可以看见一大群一大群鱼，还有珊瑚……

走出隧道，就看到了人鱼表演。我看呆了，一位潜水员竟引出了一条魔鬼鱼，跟它载歌载舞。别看魔鬼鱼肚子扁，饭量还真不小，潜水员给它条小黄鱼，它一口就吞掉了。

我们又要下楼了，没进门就听见一阵欢呼声。我进去一看，原来是海豹在表演。只见训兽员吹了声口哨，小海豹们就乖乖的滚上来立正了。全场都被小海豹的才艺惊呆了。小海豹们要跳高了，跳到训兽员的手算及格。小海豹使劲地跳，仿佛在说：“哇，好高，我怎么跳了10次还跳不上去。”，终于，小海豹用了九牛二虎之力跳上去了。全场人爆发出了哄笑声。小海豹得到了训兽员的奖品，“嗖”一声钻到水里游泳去了。

我恋恋不舍地走出海洋世界，在门口，我还得到了一颗海底珍珠。

今天，游海洋世界，玩的真开心呀!有机会我一定会再来的。
