Spring Festival in my Hometown

The Spring Festival, the most jubilant and important festival in China, is observed by most Chinese people at home and abroad. Our hometown is not an exception.

Similar with other places in china, we prepare for the festival about half a month before. With the lunar New Year approaching, the red lanterns are hung up along the main streets, making the ancient town filled with the festival atmosphere. While people clean up their houses, decorate it with traditional decorations such as Chinese knots and paper cutting. Each family pastes up Spring Festival couplets to convey their best wishes for the coming year.

On the New Year’s Eve, the whole family sits around, having a

sumptuous feast of reunion. It is worth mentioning that the food we have called maiyouzhi is unique. There is a flat piece of wheat sheet covering various vegetable and meat then rolling them up. What a delicious it is! After dinner, the family always watches the Spring Festival Gala Evening, and sets up fireworks to watch in the New Year.

On the first day of the New Year, people pay visits to the relatives and friends to send New Year’s greetings to each other and wish everything smoothly in the new year. The kids can get a lot of lucky money from the elders.

During the whole holiday, there are varied activities in the town such as lion and dragon dance, and all the citizens enjoy them very much.

My College Life

How time flies! I have been in Zhejiang Gongshang University for a semester. In retrospect, my college life is busy but colorful. Different from my senior high school’s life, the whole new life I led is much freer. I arranged my time,

becoming the master of myself.

First of all, study is still the core of my life. I major in Japanese which is both interesting and challenging. We are required to be accomplished in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating. As a result I had to spend most of time in improving my abilities. Besides of the regular courses, I often attended the lecture and went to the library to eich my knowledge, and I do benefit from what I learnt.

As to the after school life, what I consider most meaningful is joining the YVP to serve society. I think it is the responsibility for every university student to make contribution to the community. Little as my effort is, I tried my best to help the people around us. Once the YVP organized us to sell secondhand books and raise the money to help the people indeed.

In addition, I quite enjoy the travels and the bees. Travels let me experience the sunshine, fresh air as well as the special taste of the local customs and practices. While the bees keep the friendship shining, and friends are as if family members. Both of them lit up my life.

All in all, the college life is a journey, and I have long way to go; all the memory is the most precious treasure, and I will value every moment.

很多时候，总爱回忆那段紧张而又充实的高中生活，那时的我们似乎还未长大，内心的那份童真似乎还未泯灭，想起了那个因为考试不及格倔强地咧嘴想哭却又冲我笑的女孩；想起了那个微笑着看人，喜欢歪着头问我问题的男孩；想起了……一切的一切都是如此的清晰明朗。当我们正活在当下时并未感到自己是幸福的，回头看看自己走过的路，剩下的也只有遗憾啦！这时让我想起一句极平凡的话“失去才懂得珍惜”想必就是生活的真谛吧。

我不想让自己生活在昨天，因为昨天没有希望，只有回忆。当我过多的注意昨天时，今天已无声无息地溜走，明天不知不觉的到来，我所拥有的是越来越多的归属于昨天。我不想再让自己的明天为今天而遗憾。

步入大学后，学习已不再那么的紧张，似乎有着更多的时间和空间由你自己去支配，只要你有足够的激情投入。渐渐的，感觉自己在无形中长大了，独立了，坚强了，时间老人总是那样的神奇，在他的带领下我找到了那片属于自己的天空。生活不再空虚，不再单调，不再孤寂……在学习上，自己从不敢懈迨，因为自己很清楚，生活是不会同情弱者的，不上进的人不该拥有今天的美好，即使生活给予我太多的磨难。我把每一次的失败归结为一次尝试，不去自卑，不去抱怨生命有太多的曲折，大海如果失去了巨浪的翻滚，就失去了雄浑；沙漠如果失去了飞沙的狂舞，就失去了壮观。人生也是如此，活得太庸俗，生命也就失去了原有的魅力。生活上，结识了很多朋友，一直深信着，茫茫人海中，能相遇是一种缘，能相识从而成为朋友更让我倍加的珍惜。每个人的心灵色彩都不会一样，每个人心中都有不同的世界，正因为如此，时而与朋友发生不快。曾因朋友的误解而悄然的流泪，曾因与父母出现了代沟而大声的哭泣或默然的伤感，曾因……也许这就是青春。青春时可以笑，可以闹，这都是青春给予我们特殊的待遇，如果有一天你不再拥有健壮的体魄，旺盛的精力，无限的潜力时，那时你已不再年轻。

有时候，喜欢一个人呆呆地坐着，想很多的事，想很远的事，仿佛是不着边际的遐想。偶尔会一个劲的傻笑，毫无顾忌的笑，偶尔也会不停地流泪，惊天动地地哭……或许，早已步入大学的我还未长大，内心的那份童心依旧在。其实，我是多么的希望自己不要长大，因为那样就不必承担更多的责任，不会有更多的烦恼和压力了，信奉自己能够做一个快乐的天使。用自己的微笑去融化周围的寒冷，去照亮这周围的黑暗。但我相信，当我经历了风吹雨打的那一天，当我再次跌倒和踉跄的那一天，当我从天空飞过的那一天，我已经长大，我会很自豪的告诉世界：“长大真好！”

其实活着就是幸福，即使你的一辈子都是在失败中度过。因为活着，可以看到山是绿的，海是蓝的，雪是白的；因为活着，可以明白日子活像洋葱，只要你自己一片片的剥开，总有一片是会让你流泪不止的。

当我明白这一切时，似乎轻松了许多，我不再需要背负太多，我可以更加潇洒地活着，按自己的方式好好地活着，为了所有我爱的人和爱我的人！世界上有一个永远不会枯竭的泉眼，那里有浓浓的爱流出，不会枯竭。

Some people think making large sum of money and spending all of it on big mansion, expensive food, pretty clothes and fancy cars make them happy; some people think marry to the people they love and live a plain life is happiness, even though they can not afford a bigger house or a brand-new car；And some other people think that don’t need to go to work and sleep in the bed until the noon is happiness. Apparently, the definition of happiness varies from person to person.

For me, staying in good health and have a long vacation without homework is happiness. Good health is the foundation of happiness. Picture this, if I sick, I will go to the hospital, and there are a lot of funny things I can’t do because I feel uncomfortable. I will lose my appetite for the delicious food, and have no strength to go outside to play with my friends. What’s worse, in order to cure the illness, I will sallow countless pills and some of them may have side effects. Only a well function body can ensure the life to be happy. While a long vacation will give me affluent time to do the things I want to. If I can spend my time to do the things I want instead of homework, I definitely will be very happy. I really love traveling; I plan to go to Tibet on next long vacation. To see the beautiful scenes of the different places can broaden my horizon and enrich my life experience. Are you seeing that picture of my familyThe sun was shining brightly! My parents sat together in sofa. My mother hugged my brother, and I stood beside on my father. We were smile sweetly to the camera. All we us look like very happy although we were a poor family at that time.

My mother is not tall, not short but slim. She has a round face, two big eyes, a small nose and small mouth. She’s beautiful. She is forty-three years old, but she looks so young! She is my dear friends .

You must feel very strange to my father because he having full-white hairs, just look like a old man. My parent’s relationship is old husband and young wife. He is older than my mother 20 years. He can as my grandfather at his age.

You can see that my father wear a long sleeve shirt and look like a gracious man to camera. In my daily life, he is a bad-tempered man. He looks up to boy and down on girl. So he is very strict to me because I am a girl. He takes particular care for my brother. Well , his finger is long and thin. He often uses finger to tooth my ears as I was a child , wow!

My father has a bad habit that he likes smoking very much. I hate it. See, the house is full of smoke. I know it bad for his health as well as my mother, brother and mine. We advise him to give up smoking. I’m sure he will follow my advice some day.

My father like to reading newspapers after meals. He also likes reading in his spare time. He told me reading little by little. I like books, because they help me in many ways.

I ever upset that my father having white hairs before I enter to college as I would always compared him to my friend’s young father. You know, I rebelled when I was in high school. The alley was so slippery that I walked with difficultly. Suddenly, I slipped and fell down, water in the barrel totally poured down on the ground. I stepped on the platform carefully. After standing steadily and squatting down slowly, I hooked the barrel at the end of the rope and put the rope down slowly. I made an effort to drag the barrel up after it was filled with water. I was very careful because it was easy to slip and fall. Then, I carried the barrel of water and returned to my house. My figners were frozen stiff. I realized my effort was in vain. I hated myself.

I failed to finish the assignment but I did experience life through a trifle which seemed easy but difficult to do well. Such was my first experience of life.
