I am pleased to invite you to a luncheon, to be held by the Monterey Institute of International Studies on October 12, 2006 at noon, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the death of General Stilwell and in honor of his daughter, Mrs. Nancy Stilwell Easterbrook. My father doesnt talk much. Though he is not funny, he loves me very much.

Last week, he travelled for business and when he came home, he took out a box

and brought me a nice present. I was so happy. He always remembered to bring me

some surprises. It was a special notebook and I could use it to write

diaries.

on our campus,there are no skyscrapers,no graceful and imposing

buildings,and no strange houses.All the buildings are common,but they stand in

special relationship to each other,making a nice learning atmosphere for us.The

newest and perhaps largest building is the library.It stands in the middle of

our campus.It is seven storeys high.With its bright,spacious reading rooms and

all kinds of books,newspapers and magazines,it is the place where students like

to go.The next largest building is the Chemistry Department.The rooms in it are

filled with various apparatus.The buildings that the students and teachers live

in are the apartment houses.

Before long,new buildings will be added to our campus and some old ones

will be pulled down.I think that our campus will become more and more

beautiful.Then more and more young men will come and learn in it.

一自相矛盾的我

为什么自相矛盾呢?因为在我弹琴时，该慢的地方我总是弹的特别快，结果总出错，挨了不少批评。可我每次吃饭的时候却特别慢。有一次，我在二姨家吃饭，他们都吃完后，姨夫把碗都刷完了，我还有半碗饭没吃完，可把姨夫给急坏了。可我觉得细嚼慢咽有利于身体健康，也没有什么错。

优点嘛，我爱学习，爱看书……反正比缺点多，我就不一一去说了。

As is known to us all, teachers play an important role in our process of

growing up. As far as I am concerned, an ideal teacher should be responsible,

impartial and wise.

First of all, a qualified teacher should be responsible. For one thing, he

should try his best to make his class interesting and try to understand what his

students need. For another, he needs to keep enthusiastic with his job of spread

knowledge all the time and act as an example for others everywhere he goes

to.

Second, be impartial is another requirement. As a teacher, he should not

divide students into good ones and bad ones since each student has unique

characteristic and value. Therefore, no matter what kind of students he

encounters, he should treat them impartially, without any bias.

Finally, my ideal teacher is one who does not only teach students his

specialized knowledge but also can give students some guidance about life and

about how to act as human beings. This guidance has a great effect on students’

outlook on life and sense of worth.

To sum up, an ideal teacher should not only pay attention to the

achievements his students get, but also put emphasis on developing students’

correct views on life and sense of worth.

My name is Lin Zhenghao Fen Lin in the primary school class two, grade three, 11 years old this year.

My short hair, thick eyebrows below a pair of bright eyes, small nose with a below can speak to the mouth, is neither tall nor short, the biggest advantage is that I love reading.

One time when you eat at noon, I sat on the sofa reading a book, the mother call I eat, Im reading a book, have no reaction to come over, the result is mother big scold a meal, also said that I am a "nerd". When going to sleep every night, I always habitually picked up a book to see, the voice of mother upstairs, I didnt find, was mother caught, I have to pick up a book, go to sleep.

我叫林正昊，在洋汾林小学三年级二班学习，今年11岁。

我的头发短短的，粗粗的眉毛下面长着一双明亮的眼睛，不大不小的鼻子下面长着一张能说会到的嘴巴，个子不高不矮，我最大的优点是爱看书。

As for me, I have a special emotion to autumn. Autumn always gives me a

kind of feeling which can make me forget sorrow. Every time when autumn comes, I

am always glad to feel the beautiful season. I can enjoy myself in this great

season.

I like the wind of autumn. It is cool and comfortable. When the wind kisses

my face, I will close my eyes and smile. I know that wind brings me the breath

of autumn. She lets me understand that autumn is full of happiness. I can smell

and taste autumn everywhere. The view of the autumn will give me a huge

enjoyment. As for me, the wind in autumn is the best present. I am deeply

attracted by the autumn wind. This taste of autumn is delicious.

I also love autumn colors. The leaves will turn yellow in autumn. This kind

of yellow represents hope and maturity. When I see these yellow leaves, I will

think that they still enter into the soil and will give the tree adequate

nutrition. Thus, they never leave the tree. I am moved by this sentiment. This

phenomenon gives me many thoughts about human society. I believe that our

society will have a better development if we realize that we should have a

grateful heart. Autumn colors are so magical for me. They let me have bigger

imagination space to think over life. I know this taste of autumn is sweet.

I really appreciate autumn quality. In my eyes, autumn is just a mature

person. And her love requires no return. In this season, when I walk on the way,

I can feel her sincerity and her firmness. Although she can’t speak one word, I

can learn something from her. This taste of autumn is pregnant and

attractive.

Autumn is my favorite season and I will go on to feel autumn. Autumn also

大家好！我是一个活泼开朗的女孩，今年9岁，在滨湖小学上三年级。

我是一个不高也不矮，身材中等的女生。我总爱留一头干净利落的短发，乌黑的头发下，两道弯弯的眉毛，像月牙儿。红扑扑的脸蛋上，镶嵌着一双水灵灵的会说话的眼睛。因为我不喜欢穿裙子，总喜欢穿偏中性的衣服，爱把自已打扮得酷酷的，长得又像男生，所以大家都叫我“假小子”。因为我长得像男孩，所以经常会发生一些令人啼笑皆非的趣事。

记得有一次下课了我去上厕所，我的脚刚踏进厕所门口，就被一个女生拦住了：“喂！这里是女厕所，男生不许进来！”我的脸顿时一阵红一阵白，我不好意思地摸着头说：“我是女生呀！”拦住我的那个女生双手捂着嘴，惊讶地看着我说：“啊！这么帅的哥哥，竞然是女的？！”类似这样的事时有发生。我不但外表像男孩，连兴趣爱好也像男孩，只要是男孩喜欢的我都会喜欢，比如说踢足球、打篮球、跳街舞······其中我最喜欢的就数打篮球了，只要一提到篮球，我的眼睛就会发亮，打篮球已经成了我生活中的一部分。每天放学回到家，我就会蹦蹦跳跳地去球场打篮球，我对篮球的喜爱已经到了痴迷的程度。记得有一次，爸爸带我去打篮球，我从下午一直打到了傍晚，爸爸说：“咱们回家吧。”我说：“再等一下！”“不行！快走吧！你已经打了很长时间了。”爸爸认真地说。我还是无动于衷，爸爸不耐烦地说：“你再不走，你就自己走路回家了。”可我觉得还不过瘾，我还想打到晚上，所以我把爸爸说的话当成耳边风，继续在那里打球。

没想到爸爸真的不等我自已开车走了。旁边的一位叔叔提醒我：“你爸爸走了！”我一看，哎呀！我急匆匆地追出去，一边追一边喊：“爸爸，等等我呀！”当我追出门口时，才发现爸爸原来没走远，他还在球场门口等着我。我连忙跑上前去，爸爸爱怜地看着我说：“你真是个篮球迷呀！不用这种方法你都不愿意走。”

Sports benefit me in many ways. Firstly, sports call can make me fit and

strong physically. When taking part in sports, I get the chance to train almost

all parts of our bodies. In addition, sports call can maintain my psychological

well being, Whenever Im in low spirit,aking part in sports can help me forget my

anxieties and worries. Besides, sports can teach me some lessons about life.

Through participation, I can learn that on the playground I not only struggle

for my own self but also fight for my team. Sports teach me to be considerate,

cooperative and optimistic.

I am fond of sports very much. I feel that I not only gain a well balanced

My favourite sport is football, as it is very exciting. I play footetball

Spring Festival was my favorite Chinese festival when I was a child. At

that time, I had a great time. Every year at that time I could dress new

clothes, get lucky money from relatives and seldom receive criticism from my

mother. Everything seems such wonderful. However, as I grow up, I find Spring

Festival is less and less interesting. I just feel that as usual. What’s worse,

with the fireworks, I find Spring Festival is a noisy festival. So I don’t like

it any more.

New York is the first big city in America. It is the world’s commercial

center and there are many sites that attract people from all over the world to

take a visit. One of the famous sites is the Statue of Liberty. Everybody knows

this great site and it has become the symbol of New York.

The Statue of Liberty stands on an island of the New York City harbor. It

is the tallest building ever built. When people get there, they will see a woman

holding a torch of fire. In her feet, people can see the chains that are broken,

which means she gets away from the restrictions and chases for freedom. There is

a book on her right hand, which is the Declaration of Independence.

The complete name of this statue is Liberty Enlightening the World. It is

the present from French people to American people. The meaning of friendship and

freedom are shared by both countries. Today, the meaning of the Statue of

Liberty is shared by the world. People can feel the peace when they see this

image.

我是一个小小的花迷。

每回走亲访友也好，去田野散步也罢，我都会把花带回来。一年四季，我家的花源源不断。

China has many traditional festivals among the year. But I like Mid-Autumn Festival the most. It means harvest, because it is celebrated in the harvest season. And it is the time for famers to express their thanks for harvest. In addtion, it’s the day for reunion. Some people call it Tuanyuanjie. The people work or study far away from home will come back to get-together with their families. They will eat a big meal and mooncake at that time. I hate parting but love reunion. So Mid-Autumn Day is my favorite festival.

走到教室的走廊，这里早已没有我们以前的打打闹闹。往教室看去，老师在黑板上永无止境的写着，同学们在一旁奋起追赶。一支一支粉笔在老师手上无声的消失，而飞溅出来的粉尘却有着无可取代的知识。阳光从一个窗子洒向教室，一阵凉风，吹翻了书本，发出哗啦哗啦的响声。我欣赏着这个教室所拥有的和谐。

走到百花园，一阵香味扑鼻而来。看啊，这是自己以前最喜欢的地方，这里拥有着我们最多的回忆。花儿、蝴蝶、蜂儿。一同翩翩起舞，微风为它们演奏着舞曲。这优美的地方，来欣赏的却只有寥寥几人而已，真是但少闲人如吾两人耳。

这个地方，虽然有许多事物已改变包括我们自己。我欣赏着这里的一切，无奈少了我们之前的欢声笑语。我欣赏着这个有我们一起许下诺言的地方，但诺言早已如同秋天里的落叶已飘走。

时间一去不复返，别等白了头才珍惜。

我的表哥他五年级了，他爱在家里吹牛。

我每天到楼下去跳远。有一次，我到楼下跳远，表哥也跟着我到楼下去跳远。我跳了160厘米，他说我才跳了这么一点。我就让他试一试，他才跳了156厘米。还有一次，我在做思维题，表哥跑过来看我在做什么。表哥说：“就是几题思维题，这么简单!”我叫他做几题，结果一题也做不出来。

表哥很喜欢吃肉，就像小狗看见骨头。如果哪一餐没有肉，他就会说：“没有好处的菜，没有好吃的菜，没有好吃的菜……”

这就是我的表哥，一个爱吹牛、爱吃肉的小男孩。

“ 妈妈，我回来了！”一串银铃般的声音从门外飘了进来，紧接就是“咚咚”的敲门声，妈妈跑去，拉开门，一个笑眯眯的，扎着马尾辫，气喘吁吁的小姑娘走进了门，这是谁呀？

那个漂亮的小姑娘就是我呀！粉白的小脸上长着一双机灵的小眼睛，一笑就剩一条缝了。别看我的眼睛小，它可装着五彩斑斓的世界。鼻子软塌塌的趴在 我的脸中央，这是小时候喜欢和妈妈玩儿顶鼻子的游戏而落下的结果。我有一张甜甜的小嘴，那里，可藏着丰富的表情：生气时，小嘴儿噘的高高的，爸爸说这都可 以挂个油瓶儿了；高兴时，小嘴笑儿成了弯弯的“小月牙”……。你知道吗？我可是个“超级小书迷”。我读书最好的地方是卫生间，那里光线又好又没有唠叨,， 就是太臭，不过我能忍的住。每次进卫生间，我都会抱好多书，一呆就是一个多小时，急的舅舅在外面一边敲门一边喊：“你还有多长时间呀？快点，快点吧！”我 总是不紧不慢的说“马上，马上！”
