Prepare for the Chinese New Year

It’s about one and a half month away from the Chinese New Year, It is a festival celebrated by the Chinese people at the beginning of the lunar calendar year.

As of the Chinese traditional customs, our parents and grandparents will sweep every corner of the house and clean the windows until they gleam, and washing clothes, buying foods and goods for the new year’s future use and presents.

I took my school report and came back home cautiously only to find mother wasnt at home. She went to my aunts and wou!d come back in the evcning. I knew that fiom a note on the table. I was still a little bit frightened as if mother would come back suddenly.

Seeing the low marks on the school report and remcmbering mothers cold face, I almost trembled with fear. lf mother know I got so low marks oa the subjects, especially English, she would tear all my cartoon books which are my fovourite. I have been treating them as my own life for a long time. But mother always thought cartoon diverted my attention from study and had a bad effect on me. Frankly speaking, I had realized it. Mother hated those books. She had warned me if I got low marks once more she would get rid of them. I Still wanted to keep those books even if I would mever touch them from then on. What should I do? I knew that any persuation was in vain. I would prevent mother from doing that.

A good idea stroke me. I gathered all the books and put them in a box. Then, I hid the box under my bed. Having done it carefully, I had a breathing spell.

中考是对孩子平时学习基础、临场的心理素质、身体状况的综合考核。七天的停课目的是为了让孩子通过调整和自己系统复习，保持良好的精神状态，清醒的头脑，使孩子们的知识掌握得更扎实，增强考试的信心，从而充分发挥潜力，考出水平。经验证明，过度的轻松和过度紧张会都会影响水平的发挥。过度的轻松会造成考场难以进入状态，注意力不集中，粗心大意等失分现象；过度紧张会造成记忆力减退，阻碍正常的思维开展，针对上述情况，希望家长在孩子临考前一周，尽量减少社会活动，多抽时间陪伴孩子，尽量排除外界干扰，特别关注孩子心理和情绪的变化，督促他们的生活与学习，给孩子创设一个好的学习环境。临考前一周家长要注意些什么呢？

1、返校复习期间，无特殊情况，要督促孩子按时到校。

2、督促孩子制定好两表；作息时间表及复习内容安排表。

制定作息时间表的目的是调节自己的生物钟，以适应中考考试的时间，使孩子能发挥自己的最好水平。建议晚上8：00开始复习，10：30前睡觉，早上6：30起床，中午适当休息（可闭目养神）。保证每天睡足8小时。

制定复习内容安排表要遵守以下两个原则：学科安排注意文理结合、难易结合、看书与看练习结合。立足课本，前5天统排，最后两天及考前一晚浏览一遍课本中的知识点。（各科复习要点依据科任教师的建议进行）。

3、要帮助树立自信心。临考前孩子情绪多半不稳定，这时如果家长也缺乏信心，那么孩子的压力会徒然增大。家长保持轻松的心态，孩子自然能泰然自若地化解压力。注意多抽点时间和孩子进行交流、沟通，充当孩子的知心朋友，休息时陪他们散散步、聊聊天、谈谈心，营造轻松快乐的家庭氛围。以积极的态度鼓励孩子，使他们真正放下心理包袱，帮助他们通过心理调节而达到最佳的状态，以平常心参加每一场考试。

4、要帮助孩子正确对待以往的“模拟考试”。

模拟考试毕竟不是正式考试，要“不以分喜，不以分忧”。也要教育孩子由此学会正确评估自己，从容赴考。家长应充分使用数据，看到成绩，鼓励学习士气，分析孩子的学科优势，巩固已取得的成绩，并制定出单科、单项得分再提高的措施，以及弱科、基础知识再拿分的计划。家长也要明确地告诉孩子只要按复习计划完成，考上理想的学校并不难！

5、不要再强调一定要考上__中学。要重视学习过程，淡化学习目标。不要一再强调学生的失误和缺陷。这种心理暗示往往会影响孩子进步。

6、要科学合理地安排好饮食。由于这段时间孩子的学习强度大，气温高，容易疲劳，合理的营养，适度的休息非常重要。不吃不洁、太油腻、生冷食物，合理补充一些易消化、易吸收、能降温的营养食品。教育并督促孩子不要到外面就餐，不要做剧烈的运动，避免因生病或受伤影响考试。

三、中考期间注意事项；

1、考前证件及文具的检查。考前（出门前）督促学生检查准考证，手表和文具等必备物品。多备几支黑水笔、1支2b铅笔、1块橡皮擦及其它必带的考试用具（数学、物理、化学考试带不具备存储功能的计算器、尺子、圆规；22日下午政治历史考试要带齐书本资料等）。

2、遵守时间。特别要提醒孩子准时参加考试，提前30分钟到达考点（第一科需提前35分钟），迟到30分钟将不能进入考场，同时不要忘了提醒孩子注意路途安全。

3、考试期间要保持正确的心态。考试后孩子的情绪如果出现波动（如因某一科考试失败认为没有希望而气馁时），家长要及时安慰孩子，要告诉孩子学会及时遗忘，调整好心态。要这样想：你难，别人也难，只不过有的学生不讲，不表现出来而已，别人脸上的天气预报往往不准。而当某一科考试特别浅，或考得好，自我感觉飘飘然起来时，必须告诫孩子要特别谨慎，你浅，别人也浅。所以一定要做到胜不骄败不馁，争取每一分，分分必争，充分发挥水平。希望家长在学生考完每一科以后，不要追问学生考得如何？不要强迫孩子回忆，而要让孩子都以考满分的心态迎接下一场考试。

My teacher gave me an assignment experience life last week. I had been thinking how to finish it because I had never done any thing by myself before.

Mother was out today. It was a good chance to complete the assignment. Seeing the barrel was empty, I decided to fetch water from the well.

I took the empty barrel and went towards the well outside the yard. It snowed yesterday, so the alley was very slippery. A layer of thickice was frozen on the platform of the well. I was frightened by the sight, but I gathered my courage to walk towards it.

The alley was so slippery that I walked with difficultly. Suddenly, I slipped and fell down, water in the barrel totally poured down on the ground. I stepped on the platform carefully. After standing steadily and squatting down slowly, I hooked the barrel at the end of the rope and put the rope down slowly. I made an effort to drag the barrel up after it was filled with water. I was very careful because it was easy to slip and fall. Then, I carried the barrel of water and returned to my house. My figners were frozen stiff. I realized my effort was in vain. I hated myself.

I failed to finish the assignment but I did experience life through a trifle which seemed easy but difficult to do well. Such was my first experience of life.
