伴随着爆竹的声响，到了中国人最盛大的节日——春节。年三十，家家户户都贴对联、吃饺子、迎财神，人人都欢欢喜喜的。

正月初一，外面十分热闹，有很多人在放鞭炮，鞭炮在空中画了一条优美的弧线，然后就“闪亮登场”了。但是放鞭炮也要注意安全哦!当放完鞭炮很长时间都没有声响，千万不要去看，以免被炸伤。

正月初二，家家户户都开始走亲访友啦!爸爸和妈妈带我去了姥姥家。姥姥家在农村，现在变得更热闹了，家家院子里挑着红红灯笼，门上贴着鲜艳的春联，喜庆的大福字，还有此起彼伏的鞭炮声。农村的生活也越来越好了，姥姥家的晚饭十分丰盛，鸡、鸭、鱼肉，应有尽有，吃完后，我在姥姥家看了《电击小子》这个动画片，我们围在一起，有说有笑，十分开心。不知不觉就到了睡觉的时间了，这一天过得真开心呀!

Spring Festival is the most importantand popular festival in China。Before Spring Festival ，the people usually clean and decorate their houses。And they go to the Flower Fairs to buy some flowers。During Spring Festival ，the adults usually give lucky money to children。People often get together and have a big meal。Some people eat dumpling for dinner。

The elderly take children to buy snacks and fireworks. But parents just stay at home to make tasty meals for dinner. On the evening of New Year’s Eve, my parents and my sister have dinner with me. We have a good time. After dinner, Oh! Yeah! My father is ready to give us red pockets. Oh, how nice the red pockets are! My sister and I both all say, “Peace all year round to my parents! Now, give us red pockets.” My parents give us the red pockets at once with a smile on their faces.

Long long ago, many families had three or four children. They couldnt look after everyone well, so the children must do everything by themselves. They were too poor to go to school. Some of them liked learning, but they had to go to find jobs to make money. Since they were children, they could do lots of difficult things like their parents. Sometimes they even did better than them!

But now, many families have only one child and they regard their child as a pearl. They did everything for the children. Every day, when the child gets up, their parents help him to make the room clean. They also get breakfast ready for their child. When the child is free, they can sleep or do other things, but they neednt do any housework. So many children cant cook; wash their clothes, some dont even know how to clean the floor. That’s too bad.

In the future, many families will have computers. We can work on the computer instead of going out to do everything. The children also can learn on the computers, so they dont need to move! After a long time, well become fatter and fatter. We wont be able to do anything by ourselves!

So, which way is good for us? We must think more.

On the days before the New Year celebration Chinese families give their home a thorough cleaning. There is a Cantonese saying "Wash away the dirt on ninyabaat" (年廿八，洗邋遢), but the practice is not usually restricted on ninyabaat (年廿八, the 28th day of month 12). It is believed the cleaning sweeps away the bad luck of the preceding year and makes their homes ready for good luck. Brooms and dust pans are put away on the first day so that luck cannot be swept away. Some people give their homes, doors and window-frames a new coat of red paint. homes are often decorated with paper cutouts of Chinese auspicious phrases and couplets. Purchasing new clothing, shoes, and receiving a hair-cut also symbolize a fresh start.

In many households where Buddhism or Taoism is prevalent, home altars and statues are cleaned thoroughly, and altars that were adorned with decorations from the previous year are also taken down and burned a week before the new year starts, and replaced with new decorations. Taoists (and Buddhists to a lesser extent) will also "send gods" (送神), an example would be burning a paper effigy of Zao Jun the Kitchen God, the recorder of family functions. This is done so that the Kitchen God can report to the Jade Emperor of the family households transgressions and good deeds. The biggest event of any Chinese New Years Eve is the dinner every family will have. A dish consisting of fish will appear on the tables of Chinese families.
