The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, usually in February or March in the Gregorian calendar. As early as the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 25), it had become a festival with great significance.

This days important activity is watching lanterns. Throughout the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220), Buddhism flourished in China. One emperor heard that Buddhist monks would watch sarira, or remains from the cremation of Buddhas body, and light lanterns to worship Buddha on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, so he ordered to light lanterns in the imperial palace and temples to show respect to Buddha on this day. Later, the Buddhist rite developed into a grand festival among common people and its influence expanded from the Central Plains to the whole of China.

Till today, the lantern festival is still held each year around the country. Lanterns of various shapes and sizes are hung in the streets, attracting countless visitors. Children will hold self-made or bought lanterns to stroll with on the streets, extremely excited. "Guessing lantern riddles"is an essential part of the Festival.

Lantern owners write riddles on a piece of paper and post them on the lanterns. If visitors have solutions to the riddles, they can pull the paper out and go to the lantern owners to check their answer. If they are right, they will get a little gift. The activity emerged during peoples enjoyment of lanterns in the Song Dynasty (960-1279). As riddle guessing is interesting and full of wisdom, it has become popular among all social strata.

Tangyuan can be boiled, fried or steamed. It tastes sweet and delicious. What’s more, tangyuan in Chinese has a similar

In the daytime of the Festival, performances such as a dragon lantern dance, a lion dance, a land boat dance, a yangge dance, walking on stilts and beating drums while dancing will be staged. On the night, except for magnificent lanterns, fireworks form a

I was born in a small village of Shan Dong Province on April 4th, 1968. When I was young, my family was very poor, so I had to work to earn money to help my parents after class when I was in the middle school.

In 1986 I was admitted by University of International Business and Economics (or: UIBE) to pursue a bachelor degree in Economics. My major is accounting in Department of International Business Management. The undergraduate education gave me a wide range of vision and taught me how to cooperate with others. I developed several professional interests in Accounting, Finance, and International Trade.

The following eight-year working experience offered me a good chance to give full play to my creativity, intelligence and diligence. In 1990-1993, I worked as an assistant to funding manager in China National Technical Import and Export Corporation. In 1993-present, I was employed by China Kingdom Import and Export Corporation to be the Manger of Financial and Accounting Division.

I do believe that with my hard early life, solid educational background and ample working experience, I would be an excellent student of you MBA program.

MY PERSONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT: After graduating from UIBE, I was employed as the assistant to the funding manager by China National Technical Import and Export Corporation. So we have thousands of millions RMB loan with very high interest rate while a large amount of cash in bank with very low interest rate was idle. 嗨，大家好，你们可能不熟悉我，可是，看了我这段自我介绍你们就可能充分了解我了吧?我叫车文婧，今年十三岁，是泰来县第四中学小学部五年级的一名学生。我有一个幸福美满的家庭，爸爸妈妈的性格都属于外向，我可能受爸爸妈妈的影响，比较活泼、开朗、善于交朋友，所以，我的社交能力非常强、而且非常有组织能力。但我有一个小小的缺点，那就是遇到一点点小挫折就会哭泣，妈妈曾对我说过：“你现在还小，遇到点挫折就哭泣，你以后的路还长这呢，如果遇到挫折要振作起来。”

我爱好广泛：唱歌、跳舞、看书等等。我这个小脑袋瓜里面，整天想着奇奇怪怪又不可能发生的事。月球能不能向地球一样呢?猩猩可以变成人，人又可不可以变成猩猩呢?为什么人类可以说话呢?为什么动物不可以说话呢我就是我，一个性格古怪的小女孩，你们愿意和我交朋友吗?我很愿意哦。我有些优点，也有些缺点。我先给你说说我的优点吧!优点1：我很受同学们的喜爱，为什呢是因为我经常都同学笑呀。优点2：我非常喜欢看书。优点3：我在家里写完了作业，我哪也不去，就在床上看作文书，别人找我玩，我偶尔出去玩一下。好了，优点都说完了。该说说缺点了!缺点1：我很懒，妈妈叫我做什么我都不去做。缺点2：一去玩我就腿摔伤。

缺点3：每次考试不该错的却错，害得我每次都考90多分，从不考100分......我玩的时候像疯了一样，怪不得我每一次回来的时候都有伤啊!有一次我的同学—泥鲁莹哭了，我问她怎么了，她不说，我就想了一个办法，结果她哈哈大笑。我能安慰人，也能把别人惹哭了。

我是一个热情开朗，阳光自信的小女生。

HuangMei is  my  hometown. It is  in  the  East  in  HuBei.It is East  on  the  city  named  AnQing  of   AnHui.And it is  south to   the  city  named  JiuJiang  of  JiangXi. It  is  a    great city  in  my  heart.It  has  a long  history for about  1800 years  in  China .Example .The  temple  named  SiZu  and  WuZu were   in  HuangMei for a  long  years-old.Today,Every  year  many   visitor  come  different part  to  there.As  a  daughter  from Huangmei.I  leaved it away  for  about  seven  years. But  I miss it everyday .Even  in  a lot of  my  dream  in  the  night  .I belive HuangMei will  be  richer and  richer .The  new  year  2009  will going .Tonight  I  hope  everything  will  be  well  in  my  new 26  years-old.All  my friends  will be  well.I  must  work  hard in   the new  year.I will be ain growth as  my  hometown .

中文：我的故乡在黄梅.黄梅位于湖北省的东部，它东接安徽省安庆府，南邻江西省九江市.在我心中，它是一座伟大的县城.它在中国史上约有1800余年的历史，像闻名遐迩的四祖寺，五祖寺在黄梅有很长时间的历史了.每年，都有来自不同地域的许多游客去那.我自离开故乡已是七载余，但是我却每天思念故乡，以致在梦里都是如此.作为从黄梅走出来的女儿，我坚信我的故乡会越来越富饶.新的2009就要来临，今晚我祝福新的一年将万事顺利，我所有的朋友都好.在新的26岁年轮里，我必须努力工作，我会像我的家乡一样成长.

Hello, Everybody! I am very glad to stand here to give you my introduction. I am from Liangbing Middle School. I am studying in Class 1,Grade 7. I love my hometown Liangbing because it’s a very beautiful town.

I have many hobbies, such as reading books, listening to music, surfing the Internet and traveling. But listening to music is my favorite. I like pop music best. My idol are Jay. I am a lively girl. I like making friends and chatting with them. I can play the Chinese Kungfu. I passed all ten levels when I was in Grade 5.However, because of the busy study, I don’t have any free time to practise it. What a pity!I am good at Math and English and I like English better. In my opinion, it’s very easy and fun to learn and use English and this contest is a great chance for me to learn English from others. My saying is god help those who help themselves and I will never give up during my course of learning.

我叫陈天乐，今年九岁，在舞钢市三小三年级三班上学，妈妈爸爸希望我天天快乐，所以给我取名为陈天乐。我的身材胖胖的，圆圆的脸上长着一双炯炯有神的眼睛，眼睛下面是一张能说会道的嘴巴。

我活泼开朗，爱好广泛，比如跑步、游泳、看书……样样都爱，其中，我特别喜欢看书。我一看起书来，就入迷了，妈妈喊我干什么我都听不见。

我的优点是尊重长辈，写作业快、上课不说小话，我还助人为乐，有一次，一个学前班的小妹妹跑得很快，一不小心，被石头绊倒了，我看见了，急忙跑到小妹妹身边把她扶起来，对她说：“小妹妹要坚强。”小妹妹一听一下就不哭了，然后拍拍她身上的土走了。

我的缺点是爱管闲事，我还做题不认真，有一次，期中数学考试，我在练习本上写的得数是四十九，而在卷子上写九百七十二，一下就扣了我五分。我以后一定会改正这个缺点的。
