We have subjected enormous numbers of people to contact with these poisons, without their consent and often without their knowledge. I contend,furthermore, that we have allowed these chemicals to be used with little or no advance investigation of their effect on soil, water, wildlife, and man himself. Future generations are unlikely to forgive our lack of concern for the integrity of the natural world that supports all life.

River Pollution

Chinese people are now face to a serious problem--pollution. And this problem is a little bit different from others--the goverment can not solve it by themselves. We need everyone to protect our environment. But we also know that it is very hard to call everyone to join us to protect the environment. But it seems that they have found the way to let everybody know it. In a report, Anhui Daily called on residents to help protect the river against pollution. I am so glad about it. 家里又不知道是什么东西坏掉了，许许多多的飞蛾在厨房里飞来飞去。“哎呀!真是烦死人了!”我嘟囔着，连我学习的屋子里都有好多飞蛾在飞。“妈妈，有没有办法把它们全打死啊?”我实在是被烦的要死了。“我有什么办法呀，实在是太多了，打也打不完。”妈妈很不高兴的回答。但在这时，我突然想起飞蛾扑火的故事。哈!这下可好了。

于是我点了一根蜡烛悄悄的走进厨房，一面墙上至少趴着20只飞蛾，我把蜡烛悄悄的放在厨房里就回去了。仅仅过了2分多钟，我过去看了看效果，看到那一幕，我惊呆了，那一面墙上的20多只飞蛾全部都不见了，我下意识的看了看蜡烛旁边，只有几只被烧焦的但还会动的飞蛾，那么那些……恐怕是已经化为灰烬了。

“飞蛾扑向火焰,留不下任何回忆。也许只会因为那一刹那的闪烁隐约留下淡淡的哀愁。”意味深长的一句话。或许在飞蛾的生命里，飞向火焰然后静静死去，不留下任何痕迹，就是一只飞蛾短短的一生中最伟大的事。

诗人泰戈尔曾说过“生如夏花之灿烂，死如秋叶之静美”，其实那后一句不如改成“死如飞蛾之静美”，飞蛾的死，飞蛾的勇气，一直震撼着我的心灵。

那么，当你杀死一只飞蛾的时候，请你不要去打死它，点燃一跟蜡烛吧!给予它一生中最灿烂的美丽的死亡，满足它那小小的也是最大的愿望。

晚上，我在看书，向一旁的养乌龟的水缸里看了一眼，一只蚊子正站在水上。我伸手去赶它，但是无论我如何去赶，它都不走。它究竟是哪来的勇气？我细看有一些很小的卵浮在水上，我懂了一切，她是为了自己的孩子！

下乡过端午，晚饭毕，坐在二楼客厅看电视，一只蛐蛐突然飞了过来，母亲抱着弟弟看电视。母亲叫我踩死它，我不想这么干，在母亲的不断催促下我只好带着沉重的心情踩死了它，母亲去睡觉了。乡下蚊虫多，过了一会，虫子到处都是，地上有蛐蛐、蚂蚁；墙上有飞虫、飞蚁；空中有苍蝇和蚊子，时不时还有虫子落在我身上骚扰我。

看着它用力挣扎还有其它要钻过来的虫子，再看看地上的虫尸，那蛐蛐的肉、壳和内脏混在一起，十分恶心，而制造这样恶心场面的却是我。这些无力反击的小昆虫啊，它们只是想得到光；而我却是一个杀虫魔，杀死了这一个个寻光的小生命！我的内心有些忏悔了，为我的暴虐。

第二天上午，我去太婆家玩，看见几个弟弟妹妹在门前的菜园里拔葱。扯断的葱叶上出现了一滴滴晶莹剔透的汁，我愣住了，忍不住遐思，那些汁都是它们因身体被扯断而痛出的泪吗？几个孩子越扯越高兴，葱也被越扯越短，葱的身躯没有了，可它们的根系还是牢牢地立在土里。

我试着哄开这些小屁孩，可他们不理我，还朝我扮着鬼脸。望着这些被斩去躯首的植物，我坚信，要不了几天，它们又会长出新的葱绿的身体，又会在阳光和雨露下摇曳、微笑。

唉，其实，我有什么资格哄开、批评他们呢？

In modern society we are often sorry to see that people are reluctant to

help others out, not to mention helping a stranger; offering a helping hand

seems to be out of accord with the times.

Then what’s wrong with our society? Some people may say that facing

skyrocketinghousing prices, expensive medical expenditure and soaring commodity

prices, they have no choice but to struggle to make a living, and thus it would

be impossible to spare a hand to help others because it may bring them into

trouble. Therefore, standing by indifferently is their only choice.

However, is it necessary to be selfish in order to survive, or in order to

ensure that people do not take advantage of you? In my opinion, helping others
