1. There be 结构

there be 结构和have has结构翻译成汉语都是“有”的意思,但含义不同。have (has)表示“某人拥有某物”,there be而结构表示“某人或某物存在于某地或某时”。

There are some apple trees in the garden.

We have some apple trees in the garden.

there be 结构中的动词 动词与后面的主语在数的方面保持一致。如果句中的主语是并列主语,即有两个或两个以上的人或物作主语,那么一般说来动词的数应与第一个主语的数保持一致。如:

There is a green apple and two oranges in the fruit bowl.

There are two oranges and a green apple in the fruit bowl.

2. I think he is very old.

(1)否定句

一些表示个看法的动词,如等引导宾语从句时,如果从句为否定句,那么否定形式应该表现在主句中,即否定这些动词本身。如:

I don’t think he is very old.

I didn’t think Wang Hai would enter for the high jump.

(2)反意疑问句

这些动词带有宾语从句构成反意疑问句时,根据主句主语的不同可分为两种情况:当主语是第一人称时,则缩略问句应与宾语从句的主、谓保持一致,但如果主句表现为否定为形式时,缩略问句要用肯定形式;当主句的主语是第二或第三人称时,缩略问句应该与主句保持一致。如:

I don’t think he has finished the work, has he?

You think my brother told a lie yesterday, don’t you?

3. That’s right. That’s all right. All right.

“That’s right.”表示“对、正确”。一般在对话中用于肯定对方的回答或表示赞同对方的说法。 “That’s all right.” 是回答感谢话或道歉话的用语,意思是“没关系,不用谢”,相当于“You are welcome”、“That’s OK”或 “Not at all”“All right”一般用于同意别人的请求,是“好的、可以”的意思。如:

A: I think the correct answer is two. B: That’s right.

A: I am sorry I left your notebook at home. B: That’s all right.

4. He’s up there in the tree with Bill.

这句话的主语是“he”,“with Bill”不是主语,而是表示一种伴随状态,所以请注意谓语要和主语在数和人称称保持一致。一般在句子中我们经常用“with+名词”这种结构表示“有、带着或伴随着”的意思。如:

He went to the concert with me.=He and I went to the concert.

She answered me with a smile.

He went to sleep with the bedroom light on.

5. It’s time…

这一句型用来表示“是。。。的时间了,该。。。了”。一般有以下几种形式:

(1) It’s time to +动词原形

(2) It’s time for sb. +动词原形

(3) It’s time for +名词

如:It’s time to go to school.=It’s time for school.

It’s time for us to go to school.

6. What’s wrong with you?

这句话的意思是“你怎么了?”,既可表示问身体有什么不舒服,也可以表示问出了什么事,介词后还可以跟物品名称,表示问某样东西怎么了(是否出了什么毛病)。与其类似的句型还有:“What’s the matter with…? / What’s the trouble with…?”这三个句型在使用时要注意wrong是形容词,所以在它有前面不加冠词,而matter和trouble都是名词,在它们前面要加定冠词。如

What’s the matter (the trouble) with Bill?

7. They looked like saucers.

在本句中like是个介词,解释是“像。。。”,常和动词 be或 look连用。请注意不要错把它当成动词“喜欢”。

8. You had better come early next time.

此句中的had better是一种习惯用法, 意思是 “最好…”成, 一般用来表示向别人提建议或劝告.这一句经常可以与祈使句或带有情态动词should 的句子进行替换.在使用had better 时请注意以下几点: (1) 它没有人称、时态和数量的变化。(2)它的后面只能跟动词原型。(3)它的否定式为had better not,后面同样只能跟动词原型在疑问句中,通常是把had提到主语之前。如

9. be + adj. + (for somebody) to do (something)

在此句型中谓语动词一般不用被动语态。同时请注意动词不定式都有动宾关系, 因此如果不定式中的动词是不及物动词,那么它的后面一定加上适当的介词。

10. I hope… / I wish…

Hope 与wish 都可以解释为“希望”,但它们所表达的意思和用法都有所不同。 在意思上Hope所表达的愿望是比较实际的,是可能实现的,而 wish所表达的是不太可能实现的梦想, 所以wish引导的宾语从句大多用虚拟的语气。在用法上它们的唏不完全相同,区别在于wish可以用于wish sb. to do, 而hope没有这种用法。:,

They hope to win the game in the afternoon.

We all wish him to bring us the good news.

11. My dad will come back in two days.

“in + 一段时间”常用来表示将来的一段时间以后,对它提问用 “how soon” 。如果表示将来的某个时间点以后,一般用“after +某个点时间”,对它提问要用 “when / what time”。如:

How soon will you finish your homework?

I will finish my homework in an hour.

When / What time will you come back?

I will come back after dinner.

12. I’m afraid…

I’m afraid…常用于表达与别人意见不同后拒绝别人的请求,有时也可以用在表示不肯定或推测的话前面,是口语中十分常用的短语。它的后面可以接从句,也可以加或。如

A: Must I hand in the report today?

B: I’m afraid you must

“be afraid of +名词或动名词”的用法也很常用。表示“害怕”。如:

She is afraid of going out at night.

13. Sorry, I forgot to tell you that.

英语中有一些动词,它们的后面可以跟动词不定式,也可跟动名词,而且两种情况所表达的意思不同,如:

(1)与的用法基本相同。它们后面跟不定式时表示不定式所表示的动作还没发生;如果后面跟动名词,那么表示动作已经发生过了。如:

He forgot to return the money to me. 他忘记还钱给我。(表示钱还没有还。)

He forgot returning the money to me.他忘记已经把钱还给我了。(表示钱已经还了,但他忘记了这件事。)

(2) stop后面跟不定式表示停下来去做别一件事,如果加动名词就表示停止这个动作。如:

Please stop talking and listen tome. 请不要讲话,听我说。

Please stop to have a rest 请停下来休息一下。

14. This one is much better than that one.

英语中的形容词或副词在使用时都不得有比较结构。一般来说它们有三个级别:原级、比较级和最高级。

(1)原级比较

初中阶段常用的原级比较句型为:as…as…, not as (so)…as…。使用时注意它们的含义,as…as… 表示“和。。。一样”,而它的否定结构表示“不如。。。”。如

He does not work so hard as his brother.

(2)最常用的比较级用法是“比较级别+ than ”。另外两个相同的比较级用连接起来可以表示“越。。。越。。。”。如果要表示“两个中较为。。。的一个” ,在比较级之前要加一个the,一般可以修饰比较级的有:much, far, a little, a bit, even, still.

It is even colder than it was last month.

His handwriting is better than any other student in his class.

(3)使用最高级的结构一般为“归高级+比较范围”。这个比较范围内应饱含主语。如果比较范围与主语是同类的话,可以用等介词引出,如果他们不是同类的话,一般用引出。一般来说,形容词的最高级前一定要加定冠词,而副词的最高级前可以加也可以不加。如果要表示“第几。。。”,可以在最高级前面加序数词。如:

Among all the sports I like soccer best.

I am the eldest girl in my family.

15. (not)…until (till)

在这一句型结构中until (till) 引导的是时间状语(从句),因此从句中不能用将来时,只能用一般现在时代替。如果主句的谓语动词或until (till)前面的动词是一个瞬间动词,那么该动词必须用否定形式。一般地来说until和till的意思与用法都基本相同,唯一的区别在于可以置于句首,而不能。如:

He watched TV until (till) his parents came back.

We couldn’t go back home until the rain stopped.

16. be pleased…

这个短语后面既可以另动词不定式,也可以加适当的介词。 加不定式be pleased to do表示“做......很高兴”, 而加介词 be pleased with / at / by......表示“对......感到很高兴,很满意。”如:

We are pleased to plant trees by the river every spring.

My parents are pleased with my hard work.

17. You should go out instead of staying at home.

Instead of 可解释为“代替,而不是”,介词 of后面可以跟名词或动名词。有时没有必要说出被代替的人或物,也可以只用instead

He stayed at home to read the book instead of going out to play basketball.

If you don’t want to go, I can go there instead.

18. I don’t like it any more.

No more, not any more, no longer, not any longer这几个短语都表示“不再......,再也不......”。在使用时请注意它们在句子中的位置。如:

英语作文如何才能得高分呢?以下几种手段是增加句子复杂性的常见方法,也是得高分的“亮点”。

1. 改变句子的开头方式,不是一味地都是主语开头,接着是谓语、宾语,最后再加一个状语。可以把状语置于句首,或用分词作状语等。试比较:

(原文) My brother and I went to the cinema by bicycle the other day.

(修正) The other day my brother and I went to the cinema by bicycle.

(原文) The young man couldn’t help crying when he heard the bad news.

(修正) Hearing the bad news, the young man couldn’t help crying.

2. 在整篇文章中,避免只使用一两个句式,要灵活运用诸如强调句、主从复合句、分词短语、倒装句、省略句等。例如:

(1)强调句

(原文) The dog has saved my little sister bravely.

(修正) It is the dog that has saved my little sister bravely.

(2)主从复合句

(原文) We had to stand there to catch the offender.

3. 通过分句和合句,增强句子的连贯性和表现力。例如:

(原文) He stopped us an hour ago. He made us catch the next offender.

(原文) We had a short rest. Then we began to play happily. We sang and danced.

(修正) After a short rest, we had great fun singing and dancing.

4. 注意连接词与句子的运用。

以2001年高考作文为例,在信的开头,可加上“You want to know something about what is going on in schools in China?”这句话起承上启下的作用,使文章过渡自然;再如,用“What was worse?”引出减负前,晚上还要做作业,就寝时间11:30等要点。又如,“Now I have more free time...” 可引出减负后的情况。另外,在信的结尾,可用“How about you? I’m looking forward to hearing from you.”来自然地结束这封信。

5. 使用过渡词语。

写好了每个句子,并不一定就是一篇好文章,因为作为一篇文章,还必须行文连贯。那么,如何使文章行文连贯呢?这就要求我们在组成篇章时,要用好过渡性词语,过渡性词语就像是我们组装机械时使用的润滑剂一样,起着润滑的作用。常用的过渡词语主要有:

并列递进:and, also, as well as, besides, what’s more, furthermore, moreover, etc.

转折:but, yet, however, although, nevertheless, in spite of, after all, etc.

因果:because, as, for, since, for this reason, because of, so, therefore, thus, as a result, etc.

对比:or, otherwise, like, unlike, on the contrary, while, on the other hand, instead of, etc.

总结:in all, in brief, on the whole, in short, in general, in one word, etc.

这本书是如此的有趣,以致于我读了一遍又一遍。

这四句译文当中无疑评卷老师最欣赏的是第四句,因为它用了倒装。

再例如:

如果征收门票,需要建大门、围墙,会影响城市形象。 这句话中肯定“收”那个动作很多同学不会表达,那能不能想一个转义的方式,既避开了“收”这个动作还能表达原句的含义。

3.in the morning/ afternoon/ evening/ 表示“在上午/下午/傍晚”等一段时间。

书面表达是近几年初中英语中考的重要题型,是一种反映学生表达、传递信息和解决实际问题的重要的语言测试手段,同时也是用于测试学生的语言交际能力和语言知识活用能力的一项综合性试题。《英语课程标准》对各个年级学生“写”的技能提出了明确目标,它要求学生具有较高的书面语言表达能力。然而,目前初中英语教学的书面表达相对滞后,学生的写作水平提高甚微,一提起写作学生们就犯愁,甚至一字不写,有的干脆放弃。写一篇像样的英语作文对80%的学生来说是“难于上青天”。究其原因是多方面的。学生方面:(1)汉语影响、生词造句;(2)词汇贫乏、搭配不当;(3)句型误用、语法不通;(4)信息不全、条理紊乱。因此,笔者结合新教材的内容,在教学中探索了学生写作训练的方法。

一、积累词汇

初中学生在阅读理解方面最大的障碍就是词汇量的缺乏,而扩大词汇量绝非死记硬背就能做到。最有效的方法就是大量接触各种不同体裁的英语文章,利用“在句中记,在文中记”的方法来积累词汇。因此我们指导学生依据英语报刊的特点,按栏目、话题、题材、体裁归类收集常用词,将出现频率较高的常用词汇积累到单词本子上,查字典写例句,初步学会这些单词的运用,放在身边,利用零散时间反复记忆,加强印象。还要求学生给出与单词有关的同义、近义、反义和词形相似的词,使词汇量得到最大限度的复现。如:反义词appear/disappear, crowded/uncrowded,polite/impolite/rude.词形相似的词except/expect,chance/change/challenge.这样,通过大量的词汇练习不仅仅能有效地积累词汇,还为组句打下了基础,同时还能训练学生的发散性思维和总结、归纳、比较的能力,为学生正确使用词句奠定了良好的基础。

二、活用词句

当学生有了一定的词汇量的时候,教师在教学中可以采用先易后难的方法,让学生用简单的词组成句子,再以句子的构成作为学生进行写作训练的起点,引导学生从对单个句型的掌握,逐渐过渡到多种句型的混用,直到学生能连贯自如地表达思想。一句多译,句型转换,是书面表达能力的关键。总的来说,教师在平时的教学中要将日常生活中经常出现的词、句作为材料让学生训练,使学生乐于接受,轻松完成,享受成功感。

例如:以study为中心组成句子。

三、创设情景

例如,学生举行运动会,开“生日聚会”,以“A sports meeting”和“My birthday party”为语境,让学生在活动中仔细观察,亲身体验,然后试着用自己所学的语言知识,表达“A sports meeting”和“My birthday party”这些话题。在我们新教材的每个单元中,都设有写作训练题,它们用英语设置语境,用英语提示内容,这些写的练习,与我们平时用汉语给语境、用英语完成段落的方式相比,更为理想。当然,教师在设立语境话题时要与学生的水平和能力相适应,应从简到难,从浅到深进行。否则,学生会无从下笔,久而久之,他们会失去信心。

四、注重听、说和阅读的培养

在英语写作中听、说、读、写应同步发展。写作是一种语言输出形式,只有语言输入大于语言输出,语言输出才有可能。英语写作训练作为英语综合能力训练之一,是与英语的听说读不可分割的,它们是相互影响、相互作用的有机统一体,必须注重听、说、读、写能力的同步发展。

比如笔者实施多年的“五分钟课前演讲”:在上正课前五分钟里,要学生用英语讲述一个故事(积累素材);或者课前朗读一篇短小精 的文章,让大家课后模仿;或者就大家平时关心的话题写一个发言稿或演讲稿进行课前发言;或者让学生自立主题,围绕自己喜欢的主题写一段话。这种课前训练取得了很好的效果。

五、写英文日记

要养成记英语日记勤练笔的习惯。经常用英语记日记等于天天在练笔,这无疑是提高英语写作行之有效的好办法。在记日记时,不要总是用简单句,要有意识地用一些好的词组、句型和复合句等,使文句更优美生动。对一些所给情景写的文章,写好后要对照一些范文,找出差距,然后再去练习,不仅能促使学生及时巩固所学的知识,还能锻炼他们的恒心和学习毅力,同时对提高英语作文也是很有帮助的。只有这样,学生才能通过多练习提高英语写作水平。

英语是一种语言,从语言学角度来看,学生在掌握一定数量的词汇与语法知识后,就要用来表达自己的思想、见解,这些落实到纸面上就是书面表达。针对初中生的实际能力,书面表达为初中英语教学的一大难题,其常见形式多为看图作文。结合自己教学与写作的经验,对看图作文谈几点体会。

看图作文的写作从整体上可分为两个过程:一,感性认识过程,即通过画面直接获得信息的过程(究竟画面展示了一个什么情景);二,理性认识过程,即针对画面让学生发挥想象力,挖掘画面间的内在联系融入自己的思想与见解(画面的内涵是什么)。在实际教学过程中我将这两个过程具体渗透到五个环节(一“抓”,二“列”,三“变”,四“连”,五“检”)中去。

一“抓”为抓主题。首先,根据图片内容确定好题材与体裁 — 是写人还是写景,是说理还是叙事,是书信还是日记或其他应用文体。这一环节可采用 a, 求同法,即寻找画面中相同的人物、地点或时间等,来帮助学生确定主线,不致于跑题; b ,求异法,即启发学生观察几幅图的不同之处,挖掘出它们之间的内在联系从而确定体裁。

二“列”为列要点。由于书面表达是以一定的情景为基础,考查具有一定的针对性,因此要点要全面,无遗漏。要点主要是结合图片中的情景用自己熟悉的结构与词汇列出,忌用生疏的结构与词汇按汉语思维盲目罗列,原则“不求难,不求异,唯求准”。

三“变”为变要点为句子。将第二个环节中所罗列的要点,先按一定的时间、空间及逻辑顺序排列;然后选定恰当的主语与人称,再根据动作发生的时间与主谓关系拓词成句。结合初中生的实际,要求用他们熟悉、简单的结构来表达,避免因用长句和大量的复合句而出现过多的语法错误。如果遇到必须用长句表达时,可仿照、套用课本或各种阅读材料中出现的句型,切勿用汉语思维生造句子。

四“连”为连句成篇。这一环节是最关键的一环。首先,要根据题目所要求及画面展示确定好题材与体裁。其次,要确定好行文的人称与时态的基调。再次,要在句与句以及段与段之间加一些表转折、递进和因果等关系的关联词与过渡句,使文章前后照应,行文流畅。最后结合题目要求字数适当加入一些表达自己思想、见解的内容,使文章丰满显得有血有肉。

五“检”为文章检查。文章写成之后错误在所难免,检查这一环节不能省。检查可从如下几方面入手: 1 ,文章的体裁格式是否正确。 2 ,要点有无遗漏。 3 ,句子(人称、时态、语态、主谓一致、结构、词语搭配等)。 4 ,词汇(意义、拼写、时态语态,形容词与动词的形式,名词单复数)。 5 ,标点符号是否有遗漏与错误。

在经过以上几个环节之后,一篇符合要求的看图作文就算完成了。在这里还要提到的是,英语做为一门语言基本功的训练不可忽视,书面表达中书写尤为重要。此外,还应不断加强基础词汇与语法的积累与锤炼,只有这样书面表达才能有真正的提高。

一、认真审题,切中题意

《中考考试说明》指出,书面表达要切中题意。看到考题后,先不要急于动笔,要仔细看清题目要求的内容,在自己的头脑中构思出一个框架或画面,确定短文的中心思想,不要匆匆下笔,看懂题意,审清格式、体裁、人物关系、故事情节、主体时态、活动时间、地点等。

二、围绕中心,拟定提纲

书面表达评分原则有四条:(1)内容要点;

(2)运用词汇和结构的数量;

(3)运用语法结构和词汇的准确性;(4)上下文的连贯性。

由此可见,要点是给分的一个重要因素。为了防止写作过程中遗漏要点,同学们要充分发挥自己的观察力,把情景中给出的各个要点逐条列出。注意短文字数不要低于或超过规定的字数太多。

三、语言通顺,表达准确

(1)避免使用汉语式英语,尽量使用

自己熟悉的句型。几种句型可交替使用,以避免重复和呆板。

(2)多用简单句型,记事、写人一般都不需要复杂的句型。可适当地使用陈述句、一般疑问句、祈使句和感叹句。不用或少用非谓语或情态动词等较复杂的句型。

(3)注意语法、句法知识的灵活运用。(4)描写人物时,要生动具体,例如:①外表特征:tall,short,fat,thin,strong,weak,ordinary-looking等;②内心境界:

从历年高考写作题来看, 特别是基础写作, 要点都是一目了然的, 写什么, 对于考生来说不是问题, 问题是不知如何写。

实践证明, 只有写出正确地道的句子, 才有可能把文章写好。磨刀不误砍柴功, 写作需练基本功。你有了扎实的基本功, 不管是基础写作还是读写任务, 也不管考什么作文题, 你都能得高分。因此, 从某种意义上说, 我们不必刻意追求猜题押题, 而应脚踏实地地去练好基本功, 这才是高考高分的备考上策。

【基本句型特训】

这里的基本句型包括简单句的五个基本句型和there be句型。

所谓简单句就是由一个主语 (包括并列主语)和一个谓语 (包括并列谓语) 组成的句子, 即一个主谓关系的句子。

There are three reasons why I like it.

特别提醒: 根据历年高考阅卷的情况, 考生写句子最易犯的错是: 不用be时却用了, 或者该用be时却没用。因此, 我们须注意:

1.英语句子通常要有谓语动词, 否则就不完整。如表达 “他很累”, 不能说He very tired.

而要说He is very tired. 因为tired是形容词, 句中无动词。切记: 当句子意思完整, 但句中没有动词时, 一定要加上be。

2. 当句中已有谓语动词时, 若不是进行时态或被动语态, 一定不要再用be。如表达 “他昨天来过这里”, 不能说He was came here yesterday. 而要说He came here yesterday.

1. 内容切题

内容切题是命题作文的基本要求,考生可从以下几个方面入手:

第一要认真审题。根据题目类别,弄清文体的要求,并判明文章的种类(议论文、说明文、记叙文),同时确定文章要阐明的主题或要表达的中心思想,若题目已经提供了提纲,还要注意弄清各提纲要点之间的逻辑关系。考生在拿到作文题后,切勿惟恐时间不够,提笔就写。一旦跑题,发现了再改就来不及了,常言道:“磨刀不误砍柴工”。

第二要注意设计安排段落。根据文章的中心思想,确定各个段落的主题内容和主题句。如果是议论文,一般要从论点的正反两个方面来考虑,首先是某观点的合理成分或某物的长处,然后是该观点的不合理成分或该物的短处,最后阐明自己的观点。如果题目提供了提纲,只要把提纲扩展成主题句即可。
