Nowdays, with the rapid development of the road, cars have been playing an increasingly important role in our day-to-day life. It has brought a lot of benefits but has created some serious problems as well. Traffic safety as the most importent one, is closely related to everybodys business.

This phenomenon exists for a number of reasons . Some of the accidents are due to mechanical problems. As the vehicles in the road become common, the function of vehicles has improved and the speed is getting faster. However, most of them are the results of careless and reckless driving, which could not be avoided. A lot of people disregard traffic signals and rules. They drive regardless of speed limits, run through red lights, drive in the wrong direction, talk and laugh while driving, and turn at will without giving signals. They even dont slow down while approaching crossroads. So many people violate traffic regulations that we cannot put too much emphasis on the importance of traffic safety. Meanwhile, we can not ignore the fact that there are many problems existing in the design. They are all important reasons accounting for this phenomenon.

Some effective measures must be taken to slove this problem. The major cause for traffic accidents is people’s lack of safety awareness. Completing a safety driving education course is a very important way to reduce the number of traffic accidents. The key point for this issue is people’s awareness towards safety. It is a long-term goal rather than a single course for safety driving. The best way to solve the troubles is that we all abey the traffic rules. First, we cant get through red light and must observe traffic order. Secondly, tell our relatives not drive after drinking. Then, we should be care about road damage and inform relevant departments to solve the problems early. Finally, an active part in social activities, protect our order society! Another measure is improving the traffic condition by add traffic signal and other traffic safety facilities。Only when everybody takes traffic safety as their own business, can we achive safe driving and walking on road.

The time passed quickly, it was another year, and this morning, the school started the winter holiday. As is clearly shown by the two pie charts, from 1980 to 2004 the students who go traveling and do social practices during vacations increase greatly while those who stay at home decrease a lot. For instance, in 1980, only 9% of the students took advantage of their vacation time to do social practice, but its percentage has been more than tripled in 2004. Obviously, great changes have taken place in the way that college students spend their vacations.

Considering these changes, we can find there are possibly three main reasons. Firstly, with the fast development of economy, many people have become rich, which makes it possible for more students to go traveling. Most parents tend to support their children to travel financially. Secondly, the reason lies in the fact that the boom of tourism has made traveling attractive and, also, modem transportation has made it easier for students to go out to travel. The travel agencies not only provide historic sightseeing but also cultural as well as educational tour around China. What is more important, the fast changing society has raised higher requirements for college graduates. The authorities of Chinese university or college have been encouraging their students to do social practices in the hope that college students would broaden their view to know more about the society and become more adaptable to the future work after they graduate. Since I was a little child, I was taught that dont give up forever. My

mother told me that teaching me how to walk was a tough task. When I just

learned how to walked, I fell down frequently, but she or my father never helped

me to stand up, because they wanted me to stand up by myself. After fell down

again and again, I finally learned walking. My parents were proud of me. Now,

whenever I meet with a problem or get into trouble, no matter how hard the

situation is, I rarely stop my step, because I have a faith in my mind that the

Southern Chinese eat niangao (New Year cake made of glutinous rice flour)

on this occasion, because as a homophone, niangao means "higher and higher, one

year after another." The first five days after the Spring Festival are a good

time for relatives, friends, and classmates as well as colleagues to exchange

greetings, gifts and chat leisurely.

almost the same day as the Han people, and they have different customs.
