The Chinese New Year has a great history. In our past, people lived in an agricultural society and worked all year long. They only took a break after the harvest and before the planting of seeds. This happens to coincide with the beginning of the lunar New Year.

The Chinese New Year is very similar to the Western one, rich in traditions, folklores and rituals. It has been said that it is a combination of the Western Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year. This is hardly an exaggeration!

Along the way I see the decorated on both sides of the road, even on both sides of the river lane street, are full of red lanterns, a shop which is the gate and the eaves hang bamboo lanterns, as if returned to the song dynasty. In a short time, arrived at wushan square. The people here like the tide come in. A gate into the square on both sides of the arrangement of all kinds of lights, I saw the six groups in off the large lights, theme is "lights" eight horses, a symbol of the rides are always fit. Next to several groups of lights fuwa, carp, carp as a symbol of fish every year, and the fuwa symbolizes on horseback, happy immediately. A lot of people in the crowd waved a sparkling glo-sticks, let whole square emits light extraordinary splendour.

正月十五元宵节，整个城市都沉浸在欢天喜地的过节气氛中。

晚上吃过香喷喷的桂花汤圆后，我和爸爸妈妈一起去吴山广场赏花灯。一路上我看见马路两边都张灯结彩，连河坊街两侧挂满了红灯笼，其中有一家店的大门口和屋檐下挂的是竹灯笼，仿佛又回到了宋代。看着这些我想是不是宋代过元宵也要如此挂满灯笼?

不一会儿，来到了吴山广场。这里的人就像潮水一样涌进来。一进广场大门两侧都布置了各式各样的彩灯，走到里面我看见了六组大型彩灯，主题是“八匹骏马灯”象征着策马扬鞭飞腾之意。旁边几组彩灯有福娃、鲤鱼，鲤鱼象征着年年有鱼，而那福娃开心骑在马背上象征着马上有福。人群中有不少人挥舞着闪闪发亮的荧光棒，让整个广场散发着流光异彩。

欢欢喜喜闹元宵，真是快乐开心的一个节日啊!

Spring Festival is coming,I am very happy.On this winter holiday,I went to

visit my grandparents with my parents. My grandmother is very zeal.Our dinner is

very delicious.After the dinner,the people gave me money in red envelopes.I am

very happy in this family with my grandparents.

Sometimes,we go to climb the mountains.The mountain is very high.Look!There

is a clean river near the mountain.And there are some beautiful flowers,grass

and big trees.Some trees are orange trees,the others are banana trees.Oh,I am

very tired but interesting.

I am very happy on this holiday because I like Spring Festival very
