大学的第二个特点就是有更多的时间和空间，大学中绝不会有从早上5点出宿舍上课直到晚上10点才回去休息的情况;也不会因为喜欢看《红楼梦》但怕被老师发现而东躲西藏的事情，更重要的是，在大学里有各种各样的活动等着你去参加和体验，而这些在高中都被视为纯属浪费时间的事情。其实，从这些事情中我们也能学到许多知识——课本里并没有的知识，学到许多经验或是教训，学到大学的丰富多彩……

所以，我认为，比知识更重要的是能力，而能力地培养需要一个过程，大学则是这样一个很好的过程。

星期四，我们学校举办了首届英语节。那天，我们学校的YOUANDME英语社团1岁了。

那天，我们的老师格外辛苦，既要给表演的同学化妆，又要管理同学们，老师们一定非常累。英语节开始了，第一个节目就是拉歌，我们三、四、五、六年级不分上下，比得不可开交，最后，我们都并列第一名。第二个节目是英语故事表演——-《小红帽》，这是我最喜欢的童话剧了，我听得格外认真。演员们演得棒极了，每一个动作和情节都十分逼真，他们的英语对答如流，我可羡慕了，我想：我一定要好好学英语，长大了去和英国人交流。后来的节目越来越精彩，有福娃的故事、英语操、新世纪外语学校的小朋友也给我们带来了童话剧表演。

这一天，我格外开心，不仅学到了一些课堂上学不到的英语知识，而且，我们学校的YOUANDME英语社团1岁了。

My name is Tom Lee. I am fourteen. I study at No. 4 ICT School, not a very big school. There are about six hundred students in my school. 最近一个时期，我听到了“低碳生活”一词。通过看书了解，低碳生活是一种低消耗，低能量，低开支，从而减少二氧化碳的排放的生活方式。在查阅资料的过程中，我知道了保定是全国中小城市的试点城市，作为一名小学生，我能为低碳生活做点什么呢?

以前，我就每天把水拧到最大，洗手、洗脸每月都要耗水十几吨，现在，老师告诉我们要准备两个水桶，用来储存废水。废水可以用来冲厕所，拖地、浇花。用电也要节约，看完电脑或电视后，要把插座上的小红灯关掉，以便节约电源，尽量放假时白天写作业，晚上早关灯一小时，用那一小时的时间和家人散步。既节约了电源，又起到了减肥的作用，还增进了感情，真是一举多得呀!少用一次性物品(筷子、饭盒等)少用塑料袋，多用环保袋。出行最好步行，少开私家车，少做出租，多做公交车。这样就做到了“低消耗、低能量、低开支”的作用。
