Dear Tom,

Im just writing to let you know that were all well, and I hope you are, too. Unfortunately, Ive got some rather bad news for you: Im afraid I made a bit of a mess of Johns car. Anyway, heres what happened.

We were on our way to Carols after a long party, and I suppose it must have been about eleven o’clock. Well, the last few miles back home were really dark and deserted. I now realize I was probably going a bit too fast for a country lane because, although the road was fairly straight, I drove up onto the curb and went into a tree.

Of course, John was absolutely furious and started shouting at me and cursing. After we d argued for a few moments, we decided to look at the damage, and he calmed down a bit. Well, we found we could move the car, but the wing was caught on the wheel, so we couldnt drive it. I tried to pull the wing clear, but I didnt succeed.

Anyway, John went off to phone for a breakdown lorry, but while he was away, I had another go at the wing and this time succeeded in pulling it right off. I threw it onto the back seat, and by that time John got back and we were ready to go?so we didnt need the breakdown lorry at all. John has more or less forgiven me now, but he was very angry with me for a few days. I suppose I was a bit careless.

Well, thats all for now. Next time I write I hope Ill have better news for you.

My idol in my heart is liu xiang. He is the world famous athlete. In all

kinds of game， he has won 50 gold MEDALS， 13 silver and 6 bronze MEDALS.

In the 2004 Athens Olympic Games， he won the mens 110 m hurdles hurdles

world champions at a stroke， become the pride of Chinese people， but also the

pride of Asia.

Because of hard training and competition， liu xiang has left a lot of

injuries， especially tendon injury is serious. In 2008 the Olympic Games， liu

xiang as pain failed to enter the finals， I regret to quit.

He to the United States after treatment， and participated in many

international and domestic competition， repeatedly won the champion， second，

third， also broke the records.

This years London Olympic Games， liu xiang took part in the game again，

sadly he injured in the preliminaries and fell， but he stubbornly stood up， with

one leg hard to jump to the end， he occasionally to stop pain， take a deep

breath.

Although many people have criticized him， because liu xiang out of the race

but I think hes achievements and fight for the honor is the vast majority of

people cant do it. His spirit is worthy of my study.

We both in learning， and doing other things， not to need the indefatigable

spirit?

I am in real life， whenever encounter difficulties to retreat， the thought

of liu xiang， the tenacious spirit， will inspire me to go to overcome. So， he is

my idol in my heart.

My mother always says that I am a naughty girl. When I go out with her, I

always make some mistakes. Such as annoying others when they are talking, which

is very impolite. My mother doesnt punish me, instead, she tries to disturb me

when I want to talk to her. It makes me realize how rude I am. My mother is so

I am going to have a busy weekend ! On Saturday , Im going to clean my

Chinese New Year is really a big festival. People will have the holiday to

stay with their families. No matter where they work, all they want to do is to

have dinner with families. I enjoy the family hour, because we share our

happiness and future expectation. How nice it is. It deserves all the year’s

Mrs. Easterbrook was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Monterey Institute and founder of the Stilwell Scholarship, which is dedicated to supporting students from China.

For many years until she passed away, Nancy had served as a goodwill ambassador of the American people who made unremitting efforts to promote exchanges between the United States and China. The Stilwell Scholarship she founded helps support deserving students from China who have come to the Monterey Institute to pursue professional degrees in translation and interpretation, international policy studies, language teaching and business management.

Dear Ms. Reinhart,

I am terribly sorry that I failed to arrive at BLCU last Friday. I hope that this did not mess you up completely, although I know that you had already made some special arrangements for my visit with you parents and friends. I am very sorry about all that. I am sure you will be sympathetic, however, when I tell you that my father is dangerously ill in hospital, and that I found it impossible to leave for the visit when he is in this state.

My father was working very hard on his project on protecting the environment. I know the project has come to a very important stage. He and his assistants did not take regular rest for three weeks. Last night, my father had a heart attack and was soon sent to the hospital. The doctor said my father was in a very serious situation, and, he might need an operation.

24 hours have passed. Nothing has changed. I have to stay at the hospital. I will let you know if there is any good news.

I am sorry again and look forward to seeing you soon.

Mr. Lee is my English teacher, and is thirty. He likes sports very much, so

he looks strong and young. He is fond of singing too. When we feel tired in the

A year has slipped away from our laughter between our eyes, and we should say goodbye to you. Although we only wanted to work for a short year, you left me a deeper impression than the foreign teacher who taught me for five years.

I used to think that Chinese class is a boring thing, but since I know you, I like Chinese class.

First of all, I think you love to encourage classmates. When I answer questions in class, if the answer is right, you will look at me with happy eyes and ask me to make persistent efforts. If I got it wrong, you encouraged me with a gentle voice and spoke to the whole class about my problem. Whether I am right or wrong, I feel happy.

Secondly, I think you are very earnest and meticulous in doing things. For example, when we borrowed arrows from the grass boat, you not only let us learn the surface meaning, but also took us to study the text deeply. I have a good plan for this weekend. Actually, I bought three concert

tickets for this coming Sunday evening, and I will enjoy the music with my
