1、人物简介

钟南山，1936年10月出生，侨眷。江苏南京人，中国工程院院士、教授、博士生导师钟南山，1960年毕业于北京医学院并留校任教。1984年被授予首批国家级有突出贡献专家称号。钟南山于1996年5月当选为中国工程院医药与卫生工程学部院士，是中国工程院医药卫生工程学部副主任，着名呼吸内科专家。1998年6月起任中国工程院医药卫生工程学部副主任。2003年荣获全国五一劳动奖章，同年5月荣获“中国医学基金会华源医德风范奖”。

2003年，作为中国抗击非典型肺炎的领军人物，在SARS(中国大陆地区民间通称为“非典型肺炎”)猖獗的非常时期，钟南山不但始终在医疗最前线救死扶伤，还积极奔赴各疫区指导开展医疗工作，倡导与国际卫生组织之间的密切合作，因功勋卓着，荣获全国“五一”劳动奖章，同时被广东省荣记特等功，被广州市授予“抗非英雄”称号。

现任中华医学会会长、广州呼吸疾病研究所所长、广州医学院院长、广州市科协主席、广东省科协副主席等职。主要从事高氧/低氧与肺循环关系研究。首批国家级有突出贡献专家，先后担任中华医学会呼吸分会主任委员，联合国世界卫生组织吸烟与健康医学顾问，国际胸科学会特别会员，亚太地区执委会理事。他是近十几年来推动我国呼吸疾病科研与临床医疗走向世界前列的杰出领头人之一。
