The world is not only hungry,but also thirsty for water. This may seem strange to you, since nearly 75 % of the earths surface is covered with water. But about 97% of this huge amount is sea water, or salt water. Man can only drink and use the other 3% -- the fresh water that comes from rivers, lakes,underground, and other sources. And we cannot even use all of that, because some of it is in the form of icebergs and glaciers. Even worse, some of it has been polluted.

However, as things stand today, this small amount of fresh water, which is constantly being replaced by rainfall, is still enough for us. But our need for water is increasing rapidly-- almost day by day. Only if we take steps to deal with this problem now can we avoid a severe worldwide water shortage later on. A limited water supply would have a bad effect on agriculture and industry. Let me give you just one small exampie of how necessary water is to industry. Did you know that to produce a single ton of steel, it takes about 91, 000 liters of water?

We all have to learn how to stop wasting our precious water. One of the first steps we should take is to develop ways of reusing it. Experiments have already been done in this field, but only on a small scale.

曾做过一个梦，似乎如真实般的梦。映入眼帘的是一个的村庄，轰轰轰，一阵阵骇人的雷电逆袭着整个天空，分不出是黑色还是蓝色的夜幕笼罩着大地。树木的残枝在狂风中摇曳着，似是昭示着不满，土地光秃秃的没有一丝绿意，更显的荒凉了。好奇的我徒步的走进小村庄，但是四周的环境并不是我所想的那样美好，房屋上破碎的瓦片上长着几株杂草在当风抖着，我没有看到一个人，只看见不断喷烟的烟囱，我漫不经心的穿过几条凹凸不平的小路，突然间周围萦绕着难闻的气味，刺激着我的神经，我抬头望去，只见一个不断向河流吐出脏水的工厂伫立在河流的一侧，树木都垂头丧气，就连小草也覆盖上了一层黑色的不明物，周围的环境使我喘不过气来，顿时我毫不犹豫的抬起沉重的脚，这时天空中的乌云逐渐散去，雷电也销声匿迹，徒留下一丝阳光射向前方，我决定走向一个暂时使我内心充满希望的地方--农民的耕地，又穿过几条曲折的小道，我的心里像装了石头般的沉重。

阳光突然毒了起来，皮肤像被火烧灼了一样，天气这种变脸的速度使我难以适应，我擦了擦如雨般的汗，咽了咽口水，望向不远处方。到了 ，我迫不及待的跑到前方，令我愕然的是，耕地上那些稀稀疏疏的少的不可再少的植物以及在耕地上随意建造的房屋，“天啊，这是怎么会这样啊？”我不禁叫出声，这与那个工厂周围的环境可真是大同小异，四处的蚊虫炸开了锅的乱飞，我顺着方向看到了那条污水河，‘是工厂附近的吧’我不禁叹息。我环绕四周，一丝绿意使我眼中锁定了目标，我大步迈去，不一会功夫，眼中便满是了绿意，潜意识里便注意到了这块地，就像沙漠中的一片绿洲，心情也便豁然开朗了，我沿着原路返回，这时的嘴角微微上扬。

离开村子时在村前的石碑旁写下一句话；“耕地变好，事在人为，污水旁的耕地，等待你们的治理！”

每次面对这个梦我都深刻意识到了土地的重要，从梦中我得知了，工厂排放的污水、耕地的土地荒漠化、耕地的非房建设建筑和没有对周围环境的保护从而导致了那个地区的贫穷，如果治理了土地那个村又将会是怎样的？

俗话说：“厨师难为无米之炊”，又何况是农民没有土地，所以保护土地是刻不容缓的。

保护环境要从多方面下手。

首先一方面便是土地的荒漠化，因为土地荒漠化使土地荒废最主要的原因之一。据我了解“土地荒漠化是自然因素和人为活动综合作用的结果。自然因素主要是指异常的气候条件，特别是严重的干旱条件，由此造成植被退化，风蚀加快，引起荒漠化。人为因素主要指过度放牧、乱砍滥伐、开垦草地并进行连续耕作等，由此造成植被破坏，地表裸露，加快风蚀或雨蚀。引起土地荒漠化。”主要是人类活动导致的，有时环境闲来插一脚，导致农业生产产量不高，农民生活贫困。

其次是耕地。因为保护耕地就是保护我们的生命线。据我了解“1986年到1998年，国家先后制定了关于耕地的法律文献如；《关于加强土地管理、制止乱占耕地的通知》，《关于严格制止乱占、滥用耕地的紧急通知》，《基本农田保护条例》，《进一步加强土地管理，保护耕地的通知》，后又把耕地保护写入《刑法》”这足以看出国家对土地的保护。但普通的我们却可以在生活中的点滴小事中保护土地资源如：不随意践踏草坪，不乱扔垃圾，不浪费水污染水等等。

土地不好还有一方面，那就是环保问题。水污染间接影响了土地的土质，还有空气污染等等，这就提醒着我们在保护土地的同时也要保护环境，形成环保土地。

耕地、环保。两个妇孺皆知的词，现在在生活中占这么重要的地位，这不得不使我们从国家从个人的角度从新审视我国土地的利用和浪费程度以及环保问题。

可人类已经习惯了脚下踩着茂盛的土地，肆意的放纵污染弥漫世界，并过着无忧无虑的生活，但是从现在开始直到生命终结，为了土地不在被人类肆意妄为的践踏，而是被保护利用起来，为了环境能从新渲染上绿色的外衣，我们所能做的还远不及这些。

首先我们青少年不仅要广泛的学习和宣传关于土地环保的一系列知识，还要在思想上重视它们，然后 还要用实际行动来保护土地资源和环境，同时也希望我们不会成为‘语言上的巨人，行动上的矮子’，使我国土地在绿色环保海洋里绽放出最灿烂的牡丹花，在历史长河中辗转出最辉煌的篇章。

我在电视看到一则广告：也许有一天，我们只能靠沙画艺术来感受森林。看了这则广告，我心潮澎湃：我们不能让地球母亲再伤心流泪了，从现在开始，要过低碳环保的生活。

第一天：卖废纸

起床后，我偶然瞧见了一堆报纸，我刚想把他们扔进垃圾堆，突然想起了报纸可以回收，便把手缩了回来，把报纸卖给了回收站，还得了1元钱呢!真不错!

第二天：种树

今天真是个好天气，最适合骑自行车，爽啊!我美滋滋地瞪着自行车出了门。嗯?那是什么?我跑过去一看，是一棵被抛弃的小树苗!我仔细瞧了瞧，没死，种下去浇点水，应该能活!于是，我就开始忙活了!先挖个坑，把小树苗放进去，填土之后浇水，再用几根棍子和绳子做了栏杆。仔细想想，还不够满意，又用厚纸板做了个牌子，上面用红笔写着：多种一棵树，就能让地球妈妈少流一滴泪;少砍一颗树，就能换来地球妈妈一个满意的微笑!

I feel it a great honor to have a chance to give a speech here, talking

about the haze weather, which causes lots of bad effects on our health and life.

We breathe polluted air, making us suffer from lung and liver diseases. Besides,

because of it, the flights have to be canceled. All kind of transports may run

into each other, resulting in much damages and lots of injuries.

As far as I am concerned, it is high time that we did something. As

individuals, we should ride the underground or buses instead of cars to reduce

carbon dioxide. As government, more measures should be taken by carrying out the

related law on pollution.

For children, parents stand for the authority and are strict. My mother is a very capable woman in educating. As for me, my mother is just like an elder sister. She has her own way to educate me and never uses force to regulate my behavior, which makes her distinct from other parents. Even when I was a teenage, she preferred talking to me instead of physical punishment. The most serious punishment as I could remember was that I stood at the corner of our garden, for my dog and I made the vegetables a mess. I appreciated that my mother gave me the opportunities to learn from the experiences. I got to know that through my 18th birthday present. The present was a cell phone. I used to be a faddist. My mother wanted to make me more rational on money. And I was crazy about cell phones when I was in high school. She decided to by me a very experience mobile phone as my present for my 18th birthday. Then she told me that fad was nothing but to fade away. Jane is not the most beautiful girl I have ever met. But she is the most suitable one to be my girlfriend. She is optimistic and progressive. Before meeting her, I thought I was some kind of a loser of life and I treated everything in the world with hatred. It is Jane that gets me to the right way. One day she asked me what I wanted to be in the future. I said nothing. That was the only moment I saw sadness slipped over her face. Recently, I have seen an impressive film—“Meet the Parents”, which is about

a woman Palm brought her boyfriend Greg to her parents’ home to spend holiday.

In the film, Greg was so dishonest to Palm’s parents that Palm’s father is

suspicious of his behavior and quality. As a result, Greg is obnoxious to all

and has to leave. As far as I am concerned, the consequence is heavily caused by

his dishonesty. If Greg could be real him all the time, he would get much

respect and appreciation and would not get much frustration. From the film, I

have learned that being honest was extremely important and necessary. In other

words, being honest is a basic principle for us to deal with others.

For one thing, we will not get others’ trust unless we are honest. If we

deceive others, we would get the same in return, and even no one would make

friends with us or even communicate with us. For another, we will get others’

respect and appreciation if telling the truth. Telling the truth and being

ourselves, we will get a healthy and peaceful surrounding to grow up better.

However, something strange happens in our society. There is a strange

phenomenon that honest people suffer but the dishonest benefit a lot. It made

some people have a suspicion that being honest is not so important.

But I still believe that these are just a few cases, since honesty is

deeply rooted in our minds and we still consider it as a basic principle in

social contacts.
