很快，我上小学了，妈妈就在邮局给我订了《我们爱科学》、《小哥白尼》、《科学探索》等书，也在图书馆里借了很多书，还在网上给我买了很多好书!我呢，也经常习惯性地钻研家里的好书，很快，我就把很多书都钻了个透，在这期间，我掌握了大量的知识，比如看科普类的书：我知道了树是由顶端开始生长的、纸张最多可以折七次、蜡烛在水里也可以燃烧、摩擦力在生活中的应用等;看历史方面的书：让我知道了中华五千年的文明历史、知道了我国古代的四大发明、知道了很多的名人趣事、知道了“水可载舟，亦可覆舟”的深刻道理;看文学方面的书：让我懂得了很多做人的道理、做人要善良、要有爱心、要懂得感恩、对他人要宽容、做事要持之以恒、要勇敢等。

因为大量的阅读，还让我的学习更优秀。做数学题时，我能很快的读懂题意，抓住关键点，巧妙解题;做语文的阅读题时，由于阅读量大，我很少在这上面失分。作文就更是我的强项，我的作文常被作为班里范文呢!在写博客的时候，因为阅读量大，写出的文章时常被推荐。

现在，我已经成为了一只名副其实的小书虫，阅读呢，自然将伴着我成长。

今天，在学校的大操场上老师组织我们观看了一场意义重大，内容丰富，体验深刻的消防安全演练，那紧张，刺激过后带来的知识，感想，启发，使我终生难忘。

一阵急促的铃声响起，整个校园笼罩着紧张的气氛；好像火灾真的发生了一样，老师一声令下：“火灾来了！”同学们立刻走出了教室，从容不迫地排好了队，脸上一副认真，严肃的表情。老师叫我们捂住口鼻，迅速撤离火灾现场。

可是走到楼梯时，人太多了，有的同学乱了套，开始拥挤了。这时听见老师大喊：“大家不要慌张，保持距离，要相信自己！”听了这番话，同学们像吃了一颗“定心丸”一样，迈着轻快地步伐走下楼梯，铃声还未结束，我们已经安全地来到了操场上。

紧张的演习过后，就该消防员叔叔们登场了。

我还以为所有人都逃出来了，原来在综合楼的里面，还有一名被困同学。消防员叔叔已在旁边等待多时了，只见消防员叔叔迅速从车里取出梯子，特别麻利地架好，动作熟练地爬上楼去把那位被困同学救离了火灾现场。这时，另几位消防员叔叔正在教小同学们灭火，只见消防员叔叔举着干粉灭火器向暴烈无情的火焰喷射过去，烈火浓烟终于被消防员叔叔们彻反抗服了，化作一团团灰烬，瘫痪在地上，再也不能任意，威风地“为非作歹”了。孙队长因校长特别邀请，结合刚刚的火灾消防演练讲解了火灾起因，应如何进行防火，如何救火，如何进行自我保护等常识。

最后，他情真意切地对我们说：“水火无情，我们每个人时刻，事事处处都要提高警惕，要预先采取强有力的措施，才能防患于未然。”虽然紧张的消防演练活动结束了，但留给我的不仅仅是水火无情，壮观激烈的火灾，脱困，救火的瞬间场面，最最重要的是给我们留下了终生难忘，使我永远铭记在心的这场火灾的经验，教训和启发……

During the Spend a Summer Day and Spend a Summer Evening events in June, July, and August, participants can meet staff and current students, and find out all they need to know about admissions, financial aid and student life.
