通过上网查找资料，我们了解到汽车排出的废气中含有1000多种气体成分，其中对人体健康和环境危害最大的有一氧化碳、碳氢化合物、氮氧化物、二氧化碳等。一氧化碳是汽车排放废气中浓度最大的污染物，是无色、无味、无臭的窒息性气体。吸入过多一氧化碳会使人体缺氧，使中枢受损，引起功能性障碍，直至死亡。氮氧化物是各种含氮化合物的总称，汽车尾气中以一氧化氮居多，并有少量二氧化氮。氮氧化物的毒性很高，有强烈的刺激作用，会导致胸闷、咳嗽、气喘、肺炎乃至肺水肿。二氧化碳是大气主要的温室气体之一。排放过多，会使全球的气温升高，引起气候的不断恶化。

为了证实这一危害，我们把要做实验的意图跟家长说了，并征得了他们的支持。我们叫周旻晖爸爸发起车子，不要前进，原地不动。又拿出一盆开得正旺的菊花放在小板凳上，将小板凳拿到了汽车排气管后。一股股臭熏熏的黑烟从花瓣间飘过，一两分钟过去了，花儿还和原先的差不多；五分钟过去了，有几片花瓣已经凋谢了，十分钟后，那原先湿润的土壤都变得非常干燥，没有水分了。二十分钟后，那原先饱满、充满活力的茎都变得紧绷绷的，好像一根电线。通过这个试验我们明白了汽车尾气对植物的危害确实是很大的。

但是，为了进一步证明汽车尾气对动物有没有危害，我们又做了个实验。我们去王哲奶奶家的鸡窝里抓来了一只小鸡。那只小鸡一直望着我们，我们心想：为了证明汽车尾气排放对人类有哪些危害，已经牺牲了一盆花了。现在要拿这只可怜的小鸡做实验，真是有点于心不忍呢。但是为了寻找问题的答案，我们咬咬牙，还是决定坚持做下去。和上次差不多，我们先把小鸡用一个笼子关着，摆放在排气管后面，然后又叫叔叔将汽车发动。一股股黑烟又从排气管里冒出来了，一会儿功夫，小鸡的绒毛就被熏成灰色了。10分钟后，我们看到小鸡被熏得奄奄一息了。为了保住小鸡的性命，我们赶紧将它拿开，放在地上。看到小鸡跌跌撞撞的，我们心里一阵阵酸痛。我们对叔叔说，原来汽车的尾气对植物和动物的危害真的是这么大的呀。周旻晖爸爸语重心长的说：“任何事物都有两面性的。汽车作为人类进步的产物，它给人们带来了许多的便利，但同时也给人们带来了很多的危害啊。现在我们们国家也是很注重环境保护的，有很多城市都已经在开展‘无车日’活动了。”

是呀，为了我们这个赖以生存的地球，我们要争做环保小卫士，积极宣传汽车尾气对人类的危害，请爸爸妈妈们少开车，能步行的尽量步行，不仅环保，而且还可以锻炼身体，这样是不是一举两得呢？

On Water Shortage

No one can have failed to notice the fact that water shortage is a grave problem with which the whole world is confronted. Actually, it has become so widespread that it has severely affected peoples daily life and hindered the development of the global economy.

A number of factors could account for the problem, but the following might be the critical ones. First, with the development of agriculture and industry, an increasing amount of water is needed. Secondly, the ever-increasing population is another leading cause of water shortage. Besides, the global tendency of warming up also contributes to the problem. Whats worse, pollution and waste of fresh water aggravate the situation.In view of the seriousness of the problem, effective measures must be taken before things get worse. First, it is essential that laws and regulations be worked out and enforced to protect water resources. Secondly, people should enhance their awareness of saving water. With these measures taken, it is reasonable

for us to expect a brighter future.

清晨，街上有很多很多人在卖早餐和菜，人们买东西的时候，有很多人把垃圾扔到河里，河水被人们给污染了。

上午，卖早餐和菜的人都走了。炎炎在外面玩，突然，炎炎看见河里脏兮兮的，都不想碰了，她奇怪的说：“河里怎么那么多的垃圾?肯定是买东西的人乱扔的，真坏。”炎炎就从地上捡起一根棒子，她拿起棒子坐在草地上，把棒子放在水里，用力的把河水里的塑料袋放在草地上，把河水里的塑料袋捡完，就从家里拿一个新的大袋子，把塑料袋放到大袋子里，再把大袋子放到垃圾桶里。

小朋友们，乱扔垃圾是不对的，我们要把垃圾捡起来，扔到垃圾桶里。

Now in some places of our country， a number of people have been cutting down the trees in the forests because they need wood and more farmland. The areas of forests are getting smaller and smaller. Some scientists say that there will be no vast forests in 20 or 30 years. It is really a terrible thing. Where the forests disappear， dust storms will occur occasionally. The weather will get hot and dry. The whole earth will become a big desert. A lot of plants and animals will disappear.Crops will not grow anywhere. Life will be difficult for everyone. The human beings will be punished for their forest-destroying activities.

Therefore， we should realize the importance of taking care of our forests. We should do our best to protect our living environment and keep our mountains green，the water clean， and the sky blue.
