The environment has been polluted badly today and the nature punishes the

human being by all kinds of disasters, such as the heavy haze in Beijing, which

damages people’s health. World Environment Day is on June 5th. It pays attention

to call for the public to make an effort to bring the world a clean

environment.

Look at the pollution around us, which exists everywhere. The cars release

the gas which pollutes the air and the rubbish can be found in every corner of

the street. All of these daily incidents hurts the world we live. Especially the

factories, they release the heavy smoke and make the sky becomes dark. What’s

more, the wasted water flows to the clean river.

Though the government has made some action to punish the businessmen for

releasing the polluted sources, they still dare to take the risk of earning the

biggest profit. If we hurt the environment, it will hurt ourselves, because we

我们带着无比的好奇心与满怀的好心情，坐了一天半的车，终于到西安市临潼县。

我们请了一位导游，跟着导游的步伐，来到了一号坑。首先印入我眼帘的是一个庞大的阵容。一号坑占地面积为一千三百多平方米，虽然因为岁月的洗礼，它们已不再五彩缤纷了，几乎全变成了灰色。但是从它们的排列和气势上来看，无不显示出军队的雄威和当时工匠的高超、精湛技艺。最引我注目的是一个小士兵，他拿着弓箭，跪在地上，炯炯有神地望着我们，像是欢迎我们来到这里的礼仪小姐。看着这一个个灰色的秦兵马俑，我想：经过专家的不懈努力才色的秦兵马俑一定会更栩栩

参观完了一号坑，我们跟着慕名而来的人流，来到了二号坑。二号坑里有几匹威武的战马。年复一年，日复一日，但战马们仍英姿飒爽。只见他们昂首阔步，似乎做好了冲锋陷阵的准备。我一直有一个疑问?为什么战马的尾巴要打一个结?导游认真的讲解了起来，我也津津有味地听着，终于豁然开朗了!如果战马的尾巴不打一个结，在战场上，可能与其他战马的尾巴系起来。我又不得不赞叹古代那些能工巧匠的精湛技艺。

我还沉浸在战马的联想之中，只见导游喊道：“走，三号坑的风景更精彩。”于是我们又来到了三号坑。三号坑里有一位指挥官，只见他牵着几匹战马，炯炯有神的望着战马，似乎马上要出战。右侧还有几位将军在讨论作战方案。从他们的眼神中可以看出他们讨论得非常认真。他们手里还拿着一样武器，那是什么呢?我定睛看了一段小资料，终于明白了，原来那不是作战武器，而是向对手致敬的礼仪兵器。此时此刻我仿佛看见了在两方对战之前，汉方拿着这兵器向对手致敬，接着便是一阵金戈铁马冲锋向前!中华不愧是礼仪之邦呀!看来秦兵马俑不仅仅是一些工艺品，更重要的展示了中华上下五千年的文化!

I am at present a student at Mary High School, Hong Kong, where I have been studying for the past five years. Dear Tom,

Im just writing to let you know that were all well, and I hope you are, too. Unfortunately, Ive got some rather bad news for you: Im afraid I made a bit of a mess of Johns car. Anyway, heres what happened.

We were on our way to Carols after a long party, and I suppose it must have been about eleven o’clock. Well, the last few miles back home were really dark and deserted. I now realize I was probably going a bit too fast for a country lane because, although the road was fairly straight, I drove up onto the curb and went into a tree.

Of course, John was absolutely furious and started shouting at me and cursing. After we d argued for a few moments, we decided to look at the damage, and he calmed down a bit. Well, we found we could move the car, but the wing was caught on the wheel, so we couldnt drive it. I tried to pull the wing clear, but I didnt succeed.

Anyway, John went off to phone for a breakdown lorry, but while he was away, I had another go at the wing and this time succeeded in pulling it right off. I threw it onto the back seat, and by that time John got back and we were ready to go?so we didnt need the breakdown lorry at all. John has more or less forgiven me now, but he was very angry with me for a few days. I suppose I was a bit careless.

Well, thats all for now. Next time I write I hope Ill have better news for you.

Im Hua Zhengxian. Im ten years old. Im in Class 5,Grade 4. My hair is short. My eyes are small. I get up at six oclock. I have breakfast at six fifteen. I go to school at seven oclock. I have lunch at twelve oclock. I go home at eight oclock. I watch TV at eight ten. I go to bed at nine oclock. I like playing computer games and going fishing. On Sunday morning, I usually do my homework. In the afternoon, I play games with my friends.

Taking exercise is good for our health. All work and no play makes Jack a

dull boy. By taking exercise, we can relax our body and mind. At the same time,

we can harden our muscle and have a good figure. If we dont take exercise for a

long time, we may easily fall sick.

I enjoy several outdoor sports. Swimming in the sea is my favorite. Because

there are too many people in a swimming pool and the water is always dirty, I

prefer to swim in the sea.

Playing badminton is also fun. I can always find a place in the park for

playing badminton. Besides, I enjoy jogging in the morning. Sometimes, I jog

with my parents in the park.

New Year is the biggest festival for Chinese people. After about half a

month, there is a traditional festival, it is the Lantern Festival, which is

also important. The first round moon day in the New Year is special. People

continue to celebrate the New Year and enjoy the time with their families.

The coming of Lantern Festival is various. Some people said that it is

related with Buddha. When the Buddhas meditated, they need light in front of

them, so the light can drive away monster for people. Today, in some areas,

people light up lanterns to beg for a son from god. No matter what the story is,

the traditional festival is favored by people and the government pays special

attention to remind this tradition.

There are many activities on Lantern Festival, and the most traditional

game is the riddle. People can read some riddles that are written in the

lanterns. They can get prizes if they know the answers. I love riddle so much,

because when I figure out the answers, I will be very proud of myself, at the

same time, I can learn some funny knowledge.
