For this reason ,Ji An was never promoted again. When he was the commander in charge of the appointment and dismissal of the local officials, both Gongsun Hong and Zhang Tang were low -ranking lfficials of little importance. Later ,they were promoted continuously. Gongsun Hong became the prime minister and Zhang Tang became the imperial censor. However, JiAns post remained thesame. One day, Ji An said to Emperor Wudi that the way the emperor used his ministers was just like piling up firewood, which meant that the latecomers surpassed the old-timers. Of course, Emperor Wudi could see that Ji An was complaining. So,turning to his ministers, Emperor Wudi said, "It is true that no one can stop learning.You see, Ji An is making more and more indiscreet remarks."

This story comes from The Historical Records. Later generations use the set phrase "the latecomers surpass the old-timers " to indicate that successors can cxcel the predecessors, which is quite different from the original idea when Ji An said that the latecomers surpassed the old-timers.

从此以后，汲黯的官职再也没有提升。他当主爵都尉的时候，公孙弘、张汤都还是不起眼的小官，后来，他们一个劲儿住上升，公孙弘当上了丞相，张汤做上了御史大夫，可他汲黯还蹲在原地没动窝。有一天，汲黯对武帝说，陛下使用群臣，跟码劈柴一样，是“后来者居上”啊！汉武帝当然听得出这是发牢骚。于是，转脸对臣下们说：“人真是不能不学习啊！你们听汲黯说话，越来越离谱了！”

说起李白，应该没有人会不认识他，从幼教书上的《静夜思》到语文课本上的《望庐山瀑布》、《将进酒》、《行路难》，李白一直在我们的视线里游荡，他的诗永远是中国历史上璀璨的明珠！

李白虽然天生聪慧，但在他小时候，也并不比我们乖巧多少。他总是逃学，后来，被一个老奶奶用铁杵磨针的精神感化了，从那以后，李白就像是变了一个人一样，再也没有逃过学，每天都勤奋地读书，几乎手不释卷，这就是成语“铁杵磨成针”的故事。读到这里，我不禁暗叹：看看人家李白，逃学都能逃出一个成语故事来，真不愧是太白金星下凡啊！

不知不觉间，李白读书读到了青年，业余时间还坚持练剑。他认为自己的知识储备已经足够，但缺乏见识，所以到四川各地游历，途中，李白被两个劫匪拦了下来，他没有一丝恐惧，而是迅速拔出宝剑和他们打斗，不多时，两个劫匪就被李白结果了，之后，他说了一句“十步杀一人，千里不留行”，便像一阵风一样跑路了。可见，李白的剑术也是高超的。至少对付两个小蟊贼还是绰绰有余的。我不由得暗暗赞叹：人家李白不但诗写得好，剑术还那么高超，能文能武，简直就是一个全才啊！

后来，李白认为自己满腹经纶、见识广博，应该弄一个官当当，于是起身就往大唐的首都长安进发。到了长安以后，他又不想去参加科举考试，他觉得考试太简单了，带着一脸不屑他决定走另一条当官的路——权贵推荐。可他又没有长安的名流朋友，只好去长安街头转悠，结果，大诗人贺知章在人群中一眼就看中了李白，他觉得李白气宇非凡，风度翩然若仙，直呼李白是“谪仙人”，两人此后成了朋友。

在老贺的引荐下，李白顺利地当上了官，可是他却并不高兴，因为这个官就是在皇帝身边帮皇帝写诗助兴的闲职，而李白的梦想是当上宰相，因此，他常常不好好上班，偷偷地跑到小酒馆里喝酒。后来，玄宗皇帝给他他一大坨金子，给李白放了一个长假，美其名曰：赐金放还。

李白从皇宫出来后，决定游历四方。十年中，他把大半个中国都走遍了，也结交了不少朋友。

公元755年，“安史之乱”爆发，唐玄宗跑到了四川，而唐朝的版图被他的两个儿子划河而治，李白被掌管南方的李璘抓到了军营，要李白辅助他剿灭叛军，为了保命，李白只好从了。后来，李璘兵败被杀，李白也被流放夜郎。幸运的是当李白走到白帝城的时候，新皇帝李亨大赦天下，李白也在赦免之列，他当然非常开心，写下了《早发白帝城》这首诗。但这颗明亮的文坛金星最终在762年坠落……

我不紧不慢地走到了药店。远远地望去，前面有一堆人围在药店门口，也不知是怎么的，满脸着急，还用手比划着什么。看到这一幕，好奇心驱使我去看看情况。走近一看，原来是一位老外找店员买药，但却又不懂中文，才如此焦急。

老外看见了我走过去，便连忙叫我过去，满怀希望地问我：“你会英文吗？”也不知道是怎么了，我竟然脱口而出那平时积累的词汇：“我会，你需要什么帮助吗？”其实在我说完后的一瞬间就后悔了，可能因为这是我第一次翻译的原因，在老外面前，总怕自己会说错，平时的那些读音全部忘记了，现在我的脑子如同白纸一般。看着老外那激动的神情，我的内心更加忐忑了，但我告诉自己，不要紧张，从容应对就好。

这时，老外把两只手放在头上，还扇了几下，嘴里还笨拙地发出“嗷嗷嗷”的声响，有时还说了几个单词。我不停地在脑子里搜索单词和对应的中文意思，过了好一会儿，才想起这原来是“熊”的意思。无论是动作还是单词，都是相对应的。想到以后，我又接着思索了一会儿，才匆匆忙忙地告诉店员是“熊胆”，直到老外点了点头，面露满意的微笑，我才如释重负，意识到手心里都是汗。

随后，我又买了自己需要的药品，飞快地跑回家。

我自己坐在房间里思索刚才发生的事情，对自己说：“一定要多练习，书到用时方恨少，事非经过不知难。”
