本书的作者余秋雨不追逐高官厚禄，毅然孤身一人冒着危险去考察我国重要遗址和文明故地，实在令人佩服。他的书也同样散发着伟大的气息，不禁让人拍案叫绝。此书主要讲了余秋雨考察各地后引发了一些感想，并发表了对古今事物的赞扬与批判。
