在韩国已悄悄进行了11年的以社会上层人物为中心的”不给子女留遗产”的运动，已被公开。这一运动突出向社会做奉献，把财产奉献给社会福利机构，有的会员甚至把自己数亿元的土地捐献给公共机关。

统计资料表明，各国小学生每天的劳动时间差距不小：美国1.2小时，法国0.6小时，英国0.5小时，而中国仅为0.2小时。相当多的城市中小学生不劳动。

截至2004年底，中国慈善机构获得捐助总额约50亿元，仅相当于中国同年GDP的0.05%，而美国同类数字为2.17%，英国为0.88%，加拿大为0.77%。资料显示，美国人均收入是我们的38倍，其人均捐助金额却相当于我们的1000倍。

2006年8月24日，香港首富李嘉诚表示，他将把个人财产的三分之一(约480亿港元)捐赠出来用于慈善事业。就在2个月前，世界第二大富豪、75岁的美国投资家巴菲特签署捐款意向书，正式决定向比尔?盖茨夫妇创立并掌管的慈善基金会捐出其85%以上的财富——约375亿美元，创下世界上个人慈善捐款额之最。至于盖茨夫妇，目前已捐献出了300多亿美元，并且已签署好遗嘱，死后除给子女留几百万美元外，其余99%以上的财产都将毫无保留地捐给社会。

所罗门的选择
