沭阳夏商时属徐州，周时属青州，春秋末期为鲁国南境，战国时属楚国，秦初属薛郡，后属郯。西汉置厚丘县，隶属东海郡，立阴平、建陵两侯国。三国时立东海国，领厚丘、阴平、建陵等11县。

南朝宋文帝元嘉四年，并入襄贲，另置僮县。 梁武帝天监五年，废僮县，置僮阳郡。东魏孝静帝武定七年（549）改僮阳郡为沭阳郡。

北周建德七年（578）始定沭阳县名。

隋文帝开皇年间隶属海州，唐高宗总章元年（668）改属泗州，咸亨五年还属海州，明洪武年间隶属淮安府，清世宗雍正二年（1724）改属海州府。

夏天，溪水哗哗的流着。我们小孩子在河边玩耍嬉戏。大人们在树阴下谈天说地。知了在叫着，好象在说：“热死了热死了!”小鸟在天空上自由自在地愉快飞翔。在那美丽的田野里留下了美好的回忆。

秋天，枫树姐姐飘落着红叶，仿佛在迎接丰收的一年。小花准备去和它的哥哥姐姐们告别了。农民伯伯在希望的田野上，收获着自己的劳动成果。我们在帮助农民伯伯干活儿。小鸟成群结队地在和这里的一切告别。在那充满欢笑的田野里留下了美好的告别声。

HuangMei is  my  hometown. It is  in  the  East  in  HuBei.It is East  on  the  city  named  AnQing  of   AnHui.And it is  south to   the  city  named  JiuJiang  of  JiangXi. It  is  a    great city  in  my  heart.It  has  a long  history for about  1800 years  in  China .Example .The  temple  named  SiZu  and  WuZu were   in  HuangMei for a  long  years-old.Today,Every  year  many   visitor  come  different part  to  there.As  a  daughter  from Huangmei.I  leaved it away  for  about  seven  years. Dalian is my hometown. It’s a pretty city in the northeast of China, and it has a population of 5.3 million people. It’s on the coast. It has modern seaport and airport. It is known as the “pearl in the north”. Its scenery is so beautiful and the climate is so pleasant that travelers all over the world come to visit it . it’s famous for the seafood, the football team and the International Fashion Festival. Shanghai is the biggest city which lies on the east coast of China. It’s on the River Chang Jiang, too. It’s older, bigger and busier than Dalian. The buildings are taller and population is over twice larger than that of Dalian-13 million. The weather there is neither too hot nor too cold. Lots of places of interest attract visitors from other countries all the year round. I would like to work there to make more money when I grow up. It’s one of the largest trade centers in the world.

Last night ,I dreamed I became a very beautiful brid. I dreamed that I was in a forest. In tht forest,there were a lot of animals. Then,an old bird told us,"we have a very beautiful forest,we should therefore protect it from pollution. "All the animals agreed with him.

But the second day,people came into our forest. Many animals were caught. The people wanted to build house and parks in our forest. Many old trees were felled. And then suddenly,nothing was left standing.

I was so shocked and then I bursted out crying. I woke up at midnight. It was only a dream.

I am a third year master major in automation at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, P. R. China. Withtremendous interest in Industrial Engineering, I am writing to apply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.

In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. At the period of my graduate study, my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in the department. In the second semester, I became teacher assistant that is given to talented and matured students only. Presently, I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of Excellent Graduation Thesis.

Research experience and academic activity

When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab, I designed a simulationprogram for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewagetreatment plant. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research (especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.
