Thanksgiving Day falls on the fourth Thursday of November every year. It is

the most truly American of the national Holidays in the United States. It is a

time for sharing. In the United States, it is their tradition that family

members get together for a reunion to have a traditional big dinner. On the

dinner table, people will find apples, oranges, chestnuts, walnuts and grapes.

There will be plum pudding, mince pie, other varieties of food and cranberry

juice and squash. The best and most attractive among them are roast turkey and

pumpkin pie. Although it is the traditional festival of America, it reminds us

of appreciation.

Recently, I saw a piece of news on the newspaper. This news has a picture

matched. The picture shows that a young lady sitting on the seat of a bus. But

it is strange that an old lady sits on the leg of the young lady, which there

are still many empty seats on the bus. I am totally moved after reading this

news. The old lady is the mother of the young lady. The old lady had some

problem with her back and leg that she couldn’t sit independently. And her

daughter does not want to see her mother stand on the bus in such an old lady,

so I see situation on the picture. Having read this, my eyes become wet. When we

are young, our mother will often carry us if there is any inconvenient, but when

our mother gets old, we seldom carry her.

The ancients had a saying: dripping, the smallest favor. In this world,

there are many people who grace to us. Our parents are the two people who give

us most grace. When we grow up, we need to say our thanks to them. As far as I

am concerned, thanks the people do good to us, especially our parents should be

the theme of our Chinese Thanksgiving Day.

以前，老家曾养过猫。洁白如雪的小白猫，一只一只的，它们既爱干净又爱睡觉。

它们一天要睡十四到十五小时。特别是晚上，睡的时间很长。有些猫公然的敞开肚子睡觉，你踢它一脚，它依然照睡不误，真是丢尽了动物的脸面，贻笑大方。但是，仔细观察有些猫睡觉的样子就会发现，只有有一点声响，猫的耳朵就会动，一走近它，就会腾地一下子起来了。本来猫是狩猎动物，为了敏锐地感觉到外界的一切动静，它睡得不是很死。它们睡觉的样子很可爱，懒洋洋的趴在地下。耳朵贴着地，舒展着胡子，有的猫就把四脚展开，整个身子趴在地上，可爱极了。

小猫在很多时候，爱舔身子，自我清洁。饭后它会用前爪擦擦胡子，小便后用舌头舔舔肛门，被人抱后用舌头舔舔毛。这是它们在除去身上的异味和脏物呢。猫的舌头上有许多粗糙的小突起，这是除去脏物最合适不过的工具。有时，它们为了放松，也会舔舔身子。有趣的是，它们没事儿的时候也会舔身子。所心，它们喜欢舔身子，舔身子是在做放松运动。小猫经常在彻底舔过身后才会入睡，也就是说，小猫会在彻底清洁完身子后才能入睡。

但是，也不能单看小猫们只爱干净和睡觉这两个特点，它们也是抓捕讨厌的老鼠的小能手，它们对人类的贡献还是非常大的。

我家养了一只小猫。这只小猫全身黑不溜啾的，四条腿短短的，我想这是小猫胖的原因吧。它的眼睛大大的，水汪汪的，可以毫不夸张的说这双眼占了脸的四分之三。小小的嘴唇粉红粉红的，耳朵尖尖的。哦，忘说了。小猫的名字叫“黑泥鳅”，不过一般我叫它“咪咪”。

你可千万别小看这只黑猫，它的胃口可大着呢!咪咪的饭量惊人，每天都是一大碗饭，吃得非常快，吃饭时还不时的发出一种怪声，“嗷嗷，喵喵呜嗷”，好像在说：“好吃，好好吃哇。”当然，饭量大归饭量大，可也会挑食哦。平时，小猫的最爱是鱼，一点儿也不爱吃蔬菜。有时太饿了，咪咪只好躲在草丛里偷偷地啃草根儿，虽然很难吃，但……唉，“被逼无奈”呀。

咪咪和我的关系特棒。每天，我放学回家后，咪咪总是绕着我兜圈子，“喵呜，喵呜”叫个不停，还会在我腿上蹭来蹭去。唉哟，那股亲热劲儿，简直无法形容。有时咪咪过份地坐在路中央，不让我走，直到我发起火来，它才好不情愿地让了个道。

咪咪，它已是我生活中不可缺少的一部分，也将是我成长道路上的一个好伙伴。

记得在我九岁那年，邻居阿姨送给我一只娇小、可爱、身体胖乎乎的小猫。她穿了一身巧克力色的毛发，像是穿上了一件柔柔软软的毛绒大衣。我喜欢她圆圆的脑袋上的毛，一卷一卷的，跑起来像海浪似的，可爱极了！

娇小的耳朵非常灵敏，在我家只要我一喊她，不管她在哪一个房间都会马上跑过来，围着我蹦来蹦去，显得非常亲热。有时候她只有后腿站立，前腿撒娇地搭在我腿上，想要我抱抱她。我一蹲下来，她就跳在我身上，用毛绒绒的脑袋蹭着我的手，想让我抚摸她，过一会吧她便安静地趴在我身上。

别看它小，却是一个“贪吃鬼”。每次我吃饭时它总会用两只圆圆的玻璃珍珠似的大眼睛可怜兮兮地望着我，好像在说：“求求你了小主人，给我一点吃的吧！”每次她都会这样，我只好无可奈何地给她一点。但是她很挑食，米饭和蔬菜都不吃。她有时大胆活泼，有时候却很胆小。有一次我坐在沙发上，从厨房传来了妈妈切菜的声音，她吓得像箭一样向我奔来，“嗖”地一下钻进了我怀里，浑身瑟瑟发抖，一动都不动，真是个奇怪的小家伙。

这就是我的动物朋友，我很喜欢她。

我有一个好朋友，如果你听了它的名字，肯定会哈哈大笑，他的名字叫“土豆”!“土豆”有一身棕色的毛，但太杂乱了，像个鸡窝一样。又大又圆的脑袋如一个超级巧克力豆一样，我刚见它第二面就恨不得去咬它一口。它的那张嘴可有个性了，是说不吃饭就不吃饭，就算是姥姥做的香喷喷的面条，它也能抵挡住诱惑。

哦，对了!忘了给你们说，“土豆”是我大舅妈捡来的!一直放在我姥姥家养。因为经常看一些关于这种动物的惊人事件，所以刚知道它在姥姥家时，我的身体就有些瑟瑟发抖。

“土豆”的耳朵长又长，都是耷拉着的，只有兴奋时蹦跳起来，才是扑闪扑闪的。虽然“土豆”不是猫，姥姥家也没有老鼠，但我相信土豆如果遇到了老鼠，一定会多管闲事地去捉这只老鼠。不过“土豆”早已被送到了我表哥的姥姥那里，因为表哥姥姥那里有院子，能够让“土豆”跑的既欢乐又开心。

never theless i believe that a mixture of friends is equally advantageou s . in the first place, f requent contact with dif ferent friends broadens my wor ld outlook . for instance, i have found it a r eal tr easur e to have so many f riends on the campus who of ten help me r einforce my beliefs . secondly , i have found tha t differ ent f riends cannot only lead to new adventures but also s how me new avenues in life . thirdly , they can help me with whateve r difficulties i encounter in life .

to conclude, i prefe r to have both types of f riends and as many as possible . of course , i will not forget to choose friends wisely .
