这恍如不是1条街，而是由许多古建筑、遗址织成的1条饱经沧桑的缎带。清1色的乱石板，鳞次栉比的古屋豪宅，还有那繁华喧闹的小商铺构成了这车水马龙、摩肩相继的繁忙地带。远远看见破旧的旗帜上写着几个苍劲有力的毛笔大字——“扬州3把刀”，我走进去1看，原来“3把刀”指的是厨刀、剃刀、修脚刀。这3种职业在很多中国人看来都是“不入流”的活儿，非“人上人”所为，但朴实可爱的扬州人却将它们流传至今并发扬光大。走出店铺，街边的糖画、糖人吸引了我的眼球。卖糖的老师傅将熬热的糖浆瞬间倒在平底锅面上，“唰唰”几下便画出了1条栩栩如生的中国龙，这奇异而高深的技艺真叫人叹服。买了1根糖画，我又走进了扬州刺绣的店铺。这里的绣品真是使人眼花缭乱，有瘦西湖畔的2104桥、风韵独具的艺术插花、清丽高雅的梅兰竹菊4君子……分不出是画还是刺绣。据店主介绍，这些都是手工刺绣，1针1线地绣出来的。我不能不佩服那些心灵手巧的扬州姑娘们。

这里还座落着1些名胜古迹，我有幸参观了1所风景独特的客栈。刚进门，映入眼帘的是1座座假山，形态各异，或屹立，或蜿蜒，流水从中缓缓淌过，倾注的“瀑布”溅起无数晶莹的水珠。假山环绕着池塘，池水清澈见底，荡着1圈圈温婉的涟漪。阳光洒在微波粼粼的水面上，为它披上了1层金色的纱衣。向里走，便来到了客栈的花园。成林的竹子苍翠欲滴，随风摇摆；青石板的地面上摆满了1盆盆开得正旺的秋菊，它们在这万物凋零的深秋，不畏酷寒，绽放出朴素的清香。

听爸爸说，东关街古街是扬州城里最具代表性的一条历史老街，它东至古运河边，西至国庆路。在古代它不仅是扬州水陆交通专用道，而且是商业、手工业和宗教的文化中心。我们沿着街道向前走，不仅欣赏到了许多给我艺术气息的古建筑，还领略了有独特美味的扬州炒饭、著名的扬州三把刀、以及琳琅满目的金银饰品，大到独具匠心的漆木雕刻，小到各式各样的梳妆品，无不透露出扬州人民的质朴和聪慧。

来到了京杭大运河的旁边，河面上倒映着河两旁的建筑，宛如一条宽阔的玉带，显得分外美丽。河面上静静地漂着几条游船随波晃动，显得悠闲而又自在。我们沿着河继续向前走，一幅巨大的木刻雕塑呈现在我们的面前，上面刻的内容讲述了当时建京杭大运河建造的场景，还有古代皇帝下江南的巨幅画雕，气势是那样的宏伟壮观，使我好像看到了当年的场景，一条条大船在河面上穿梭，我仿佛看到纤夫们在烈日下挥汗如雨拉纤的身影，听到了纤夫在河岸上吼出的号子。
