This year Spring Festival, and some is not the same as usual, my mother help me raise the abundance of a table delicacies, invited a few best friend come to my house to eat dumplings, mom make dumplings and put the coin in eight dumplings, say who got a coin dumplings who have good luck this year, the result my mother and I and a friend eat to each two dumplings with COINS.

After the Spring Festival gala, the mother brought a large bottle of drink, and we do guess riddle games, method is riddle out by the mother, me and some children take turns to guess, guess, to reward a small glass of drink, had not found out or wrong did not drink, even a small performance.

Time passed in the tick of the clock sound, after half an hour, drink solve finished, I and the children all are sitting in a chair, constantly dozen satisfied ge, some still keep the toilet on the ground.

And had a rest, play a heated up again, you pick up the fireworks and ran outside, the start and the adult child put up outside, I also unwilling to lag behind, two hundred yuan to buy fireworks last year many left? Before long, the full fireworks bag empty belly.

"There is no such thing as a not good things come to an end", friends say goodbye in the firecrackers and laughter.

Family reunion dinner finished, the Spring Festival has passed, the New Year begins, I grew up a year old, also become more reasonable, the New Year, I want to study well, with honors returns mothers love for me.

春节是中国最隆重的节日，过了春节，就意味着新的一年开始了，就意味着我们又长了一岁，就意味着我们应该更懂事一些了。在春节这天，到处都是喜气洋洋的，人人嘴边都会挂着一丝微笑。

大年三十的晚上，街上最为热闹，到处张灯结彩，小孩子嘴里叼着糖块，在街上放着各式各样的烟花，偶尔也会有几个大人们放起了爆竹，有的孩子欢呼起来，有的孩子索性用手捂住耳朵，还有更小的孩子则吓得跑回了家。

这年春节，和往常有些不一样，妈妈帮我张罗了一桌丰盛的佳肴，邀请了几个最要好的朋友来我家吃饺子，妈妈包饺子时还在八个饺子里放了硬币，说谁吃到了硬币饺子谁今年就有好运，结果我和妈妈还有一个小朋友各吃到了二个带着硬币的饺子。

春晚结束后，妈妈拿来了一大瓶饮料，和我们做猜迷语游戏，方法是由妈妈出迷语，我和几个小朋友轮流猜，猜对的奖励一小杯饮料，猜不出或猜错的不但没有饮料喝，还要表演一个小节目。

时间在钟表的嘀哒声中过去了，半小时后，饮料解决完毕，我和小朋友们个个都坐在椅子上，不停地打着饱嗝，有的还不停地上厕所。

休息了一会儿，玩的兴头又上来了，大家拿起烟花就往外跑，开始和外面的大人小孩放了起来，我也不甘落后，去年买的两百元烟花还剩下不少呢。没过多久，装着满满的烟花的袋子就空了肚子。

“天下没有不散的宴席”，朋友们在爆竹声和欢笑声中告别了。

大家走后，妈妈又开始忙着收拾碗筷，我也过来帮妈妈的忙。虽然妈妈说不用我，可我还是帮妈妈收拾完才休息。

年夜饭吃完了，春节也过了，新的一年就开始了，我长大了一岁，也变得更懂事了，新的一年里，我要好好学习，以优异的成绩回报妈妈对我的爱。

It was the second day of our summer holiday. I felt good. I felt I am free.

I had a lot of time to do things I like. My parents are in Zhongshan. So I live

alone but I don’t feel lonely. But I didn’t do something special. I stayed at

home and watched TV. Oh! I wrote an Englishdaily composition. It was my

homework. Today, I have slept for 14 hours.I thought I was very tired. It was

time for dinner. I must go! I am very hungry.

I am a third year master major in automation at Shanghai Jiao Tong

University, P. R. China. With tremendous interest in Industrial Engineering, I

am writing to apply for acceptance into your Ph.D. graduate program.

Education background

In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology

(NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During

the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among

the whole department. I was granted First Class Prize every semester,In 1999, I

got the privilege to enter the graduate program waived of the admission

test.

At the period of my graduate study, my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5%

in the department. In the second semester, I became teacher assistant that is

given to talented and matured students only. This year, I won the Acer

Scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department, which is the

ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my university.

Presently, I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of

Excellent Graduation Thesis.

Research experience and academic activity

When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to

narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and

Matlab, I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It

is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled

a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This

was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and

experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research

interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research

(especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid

system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.

I often go to the movies with my friends on weekends. I can aslo play the violin and have won many prizes in the competitions. I take violin lessons twice a week.
