Teachers Day, September 10th, is a national teachers festival in China. It is celebrated since 1985. It expresses respects to the labors and contributions of teachers to the Chinese society. The date of Teachers Day is set at the beginning of the school year in order to arouse teachers and students enthusiasm for their work, and give a good start to teaching and learning. On teachers Day, students usually send greeting cards with good wishes to their teachers to show their respect. In Taiwan Province, Teachers Day is celebrated on September 28 annually. Choosing this day is to celebrate the birth of Confucius for his great contribution to Chinese culture. In some other countries, Teachers Day is also celebrated. In the United States, this is on the first Tuesday in May. In India, Teachers Day is celebrated on September 5. In Vietnam, it is celebrated on November 20.

People often say that gold and silver are the most valuable things in the

world.But

I dont think so. In my opinion, to read books is more valuable than

anything else.

Books are our friends. They introduce us different kinds of knowledge. They

lead us down the road to success.

Books are our teachers. They teach us troth, science, literature, and

philosophy of life. Besides, they increase our knowledge, enlarge our

experience,strengthen our character and do many other things which we can not do

without them.

Books tell us what is good and what is evil. And only books can tell the

good from the bad.

Therefore to read more books is the best policy for our young students.

The joyous Mid-Autumn Festival was celebrated on the fifteenth day of the

eighth moon, around the time of the autumn equinox(秋分). Many referred to it

simply as the "Fifteenth of the Eighth Moon".

This day was also considered as a harvest festival since fruits, vegetables

and grain had been harvested by this time and food was abundant. Food offerings

were placed on an altar set up in the courtyard. Apples, pears, peaches, grapes,

pomegranates(石榴), melons, oranges and pomelos(柚子) might be seen. Special foods

for the festival included moon cakes, cooked taro(芋头)and water caltrope(菱角), a

type of water chestnut resembling black buffalo horns. Some people insisted that

Cars and Air Pollution

Too many cars have created a lot of serious problems in our world. Besides congestion, accidents and fast fuel consumption, cars are responsible for a good part of air pollution in big cities. All the time, they are pumping huge amounts of waste gases into the atmosphere. These gases are very harmful, causing disease and even death.

One possible solution is to design and develop clean cars and clean fuels. In Shanghai, some of the public buses begin to run on natural gas, which does not give off as much carbon dioxide as the petrol. But it may take decades for the new models of clean cars completely replace the traditional ones. Another solution is to develop modern public transportation systems and restrict the use of private cars. And the total number of cars in big cities will reduce greatly.

On the whole, the elimination of air pollution needs the collective efforts from the government, the public and the environmentalists.

When I go to high school, our school has the rule to ask students to live

in the dormitory. Most students live with their parents before, so we all feel

excited and afraid of the group life. Luckily, I have three nice roommates. Soon

we become close friends. Living with others, we learn to do the house work, such

as everyone needs take turn to clean the floor, when we have something good to

eat, we will share with each other. The group life makes us have less private

space, but we enjoy the moment when we have the little talk before sleep, the

secrets that we dont want our parents know can talk to these girls. Whats

Firstly, buying things online is a way of saving time. Compared with the

traditional way of shopping, we have no need to go out to pick up our favorite

goods from store to store. Just a click, we can have things in our shopping cart

and just wait for the goods to be delivered to us. To this extent, not only we

can save the time of finding things from store to store but we don’t need to

spend time on transportation. Thus, we can save lots of time to enjoy fun.

Secondly, buying things online can save our money. People buy commodities

money. It is often seen that some people just go to the physical store to check

favorite commodities online and take the order. People do this just because they

know that online goods are usually cheaper than the goods displayed in shop

Thirdly, convenience is the last but not least thing of shopping online.

Since we can buy things online, there is no need to go out to look for things we

want to buy. What we need to do is to simply sit before our computer, search for

things we want to buy, click our favorite thing and then pay our order by our

bank card. And then, you just need to wait for your goods to be delivered to

your home.

In conclusion, shopping online is a convenient, time-saving and money

people can go conveniently everywhere they like; they will not ride bikes or

drive cars. In this way, the number of cars and bikes on the road will be

greatly cut down.

As far as I am concerned, if we want to solve this problem, we should set

up an idea of public transportation first and give a priority to this idea in

our traffic work.
